Back in the old days I rather enjoyed the logic in his posts, as well as the wit behind them. Since MY perma-ban got slapped on a year ago though, I haven't checked the forums for like nine or ten months and since my return 2 months-ish ago I have yet to see his posts. If his attitude changed for worse in that time, I neither knew about it nor do I care that much; there are far worse people on the forums who have the same narcissism but without the logic.
in the time frame where he supposedly 'came back,' every post was the equivalent of 'you are stupid, i am smarter than you, anyone who disagrees is a waste of time. deal with it.' logic hasn't existed in the minds of this forum, in like... ever?

Mm, I wasn't around for that, but I suppose that would explain why he's banned b:chuckle

Personally though I'd like to see a return of his insightful posts, perhaps without the narcissism and insults you mentioned.

Not that I would or could claim I'm an upstanding forum citizen in that respect either.

those went away ~2 years ago, then tear valerin took up the reigns of 'insightful' by humiliating or belitting and berating everyone who made stupid complaints lol. i think thats where he got it from.

I stopped posting in a friendly, insightful manner after I realized just how little it actually helped because far to many people were inclined to ignore anything that was reasonable, and went straight to the troll.

Basically I gave up, said to heck with it, and started ripping into people. I offered the one side of the coin and it got thrown back in my face, so I gave the other side of the coin with change.

If you go look at the first yearish or so of my posting history you'll see that I was far more helpful than Trollful but after a while you just get tired of the same thing over and over and you can only answer the same questions so many times before you start questioning peoples ability to do a little research for themselves first before asking a question, when 20 seconds of using the Search function will net you the answers you want more often than not.

Now days. I just don't care about being helpful overall, but I think the entire community has the chance to take recent events and use it to forge a stronger, more insightful and helpful community, more along the lines of what the forums were when I first joined the game and that is why I broke my silence and spoke up.

I don't always agree with the CM's and Mods, nor do I like them all that much, but the job is not an easy one, and anybody brave enough or fool enough to take it on, has my respect for making the attempt. I think the community needs to step back and evaluate what they want from the forums.

Do you want it filled with flames, trolls, bashing and generally being an unpleasant place to be? Or do you want it to be a helpful, friendly, insightful place to be, where information and knowledge of the game is shared, and expanded on and discussed openly and respectfully?

You don't always have to agree with a persons stance on a subject and while I don't have a lot of place to be saying this considering my past forum history, you really 'should' be as respectful as possible, even if you think the person(s) in question are not firing on all cylinders.

Since I left the game and the forums I have had the chance to be a part of several other communities on the Internet and looking back, to be honest I am ashamed at my own behavior here since I had returned from my Sabbatical. I've seen other communities that were respectful and able to have long and intelligent conversations between disagreeing parties and they stayed friendly and courteous. I see no reason why this game and this forum can't have the same thing if people would try to do it.

I have kept my eye on these forums off and on, though not as much as I had in the past. Seriously guys, take the chance to make a better place to be and learn and grow from this. As I said before, you may not get another chance, so take the chance you have now and make the best of it.
I've got a 'Tude of my own!

Asked by KuiXing:Q:What was with the mass banning?

First of all, Proski of Archosaur never personally insulted a moderator, and he has never attacked an administrator in any shape or form, and yet he's banned. Does this make any sense, frankieraye?

And now, he's opened a ticket for what, 2 weeks?, and no response. Not only is Proski and I disappointed, but our entire guild that has around 190 members is. Not to mention, I will say a lot of zen has been spent on the server recently because of the revived competition, but with the lack of effort from the administrators, developers, and the game masters, most of the zen created in the server will disappear. Even the best guild will not spend money because they will not find any point in charging zen without competition.

So please get off your lazz$$$$$zzy bun$$$$$$, and start clicking 3 buttons on the server control panel and unban Proski of Archosaur server.

    ....[snipped to save space]

Aaaannd considering I was only active on the forums with my main in the first year, the insightful Saitada is the one I know.

@Aisubeki : I admit that for almost 10 months I've basically been in the dark on the forums. I don't think I ever saw the point where Saitada snapped and simply 'trolled.' However, hearing his reasons kind of reminded me of me, so I'll put down my argument that he simply needed a break. After all, he's posting now and it looks more civil than my posts have been lately.

It is unfortunate that helpful people simply get worn out by public forums. It is like this in any game; most major game forums cycle through moderators once a year or every other year. Not only moderators, but people who try to be helpful sometimes snap from the repetitiveness. I mean just a few hours ago there was a "Why am I banned?" thread even though so many have been made and the same answers have been given all the time.

And I don't know, your first point wasn't completely wrong. I do like to read posts with a bit of spice in them. Perhaps it is because I tend to be a bit...scathing myself, that I rarely get offended and only see the humor in things. I do see a lot of futility in trying to be helpful on these forums because some people just refuse to be helped, so I do get a little guilty pleasure in either stirring the pot or watching other people stir the pot.

Edit: Just reread my post and it sounded like I was trying to make an excuse for trolling. That wasn't my point...My point is that sometimes people just need a break.

I can understand the fact of accidental banning, but I cannot understand how unwilling the administrators are in unbanning people.

Welcome bakc Saitada (: I'm not saying y'alls posts aren't insightful because I've enjoyed reading them. But this has gone way off topic. If you guys want to continue with the conversation, please take it to PM's b:thanks Again, I'm not saying y'alls discussion isn't invigorating (haha sounds wierd when I put it that way) but it's just off topic.
