Well, to be fair...some of the "first offenders" were originally temporarily banned, but they made more accounts to post from, and -that- got them perma'd, like MistaBwanden. Circumventing a ban has never been allowed on any forum I've ever been on, and it usually dealt with in the same manner.

MAYBE if you keep "circumventing" ban on the forums by making new accounts, that might justify a perma ban, not that those alts were banned for anything different from the mains. And not all of them that got perma'd on the forums are banned in game. *has been chatting with Bwanden on a daily basis in faction*

AND...some of those that were banned, "quit" the game anyway, so I dunno why'd they care...

In-game bans are being used as a last resort, right now for people who continually circumvent their forum bans. So far they have only been temp bans. And no I'm not going to ban your in-game characters for some forum profanity.

Some other possible situations for in-game bans:

If you knowingly post a link to a virus, you're getting banned in-game.

If you knowingly post a link to a phishing site, you're getting banned in-game.

As of the last MSN convo there have been people who cannot log into the game. I DO have my facts straight. You are not the only person banned. Surprising, I know.

Ahh, you and I were thinking of different things while posting. When I talked about consistancy, I meant only with those that have been banned already. I wasn't thinking of any others that may or may not be deserving currently of a ban, because I haven't read every post in every thread, nor am I a judge for who should be banned or not. I thought we were simply talking about those who had already been banned, since that's what I replied to in your post.

If they break the rules, yes, they should be banned. I don't know if there's a reason those others haven't been banned. Perhaps Frankie just hasn't gotten around to it yet. I was just told Airyll was banned, much later that most had thought she would be. Perhaps those two you mentioned are next? I don't know.

Are you saying all names permabanned from the forums are people who have flamed from their alts? I will accept that answer if it is so.

I have never addressed Frankie or the mods in a manner that was disrespectful, much less outright offensive. I haven't tried to sink and boycott this game (which posting the game is dead is meant to do) nor have encouraged others to rebellious or unacceptable behaviour, which i have always condemned. Yes, i have trolled and i have flamed, but in a manner consistent with what has previously been tolerated in this forums. Justice would be fair warning if standards of rule enforcement were to be changed, of for such measures to start slowly. Frankie's answers i take it to be a sign of good will towards this comunity, and we should welcome them as such. Bans have been handled with sanity and restraint up to this point. There are things it simply is unacceptable to continue tolerating on this site. The game is dead posts only drive away new players, negatively impact the comunity's mood and lead to trolling and flaming. The people who got permabanned were all asking for it, they knew full well what they were doing and its consequences. The argument that there is not a consistent standard is flawed, these bans were exceptional and overall enforcement of bans has been handled with a tolerant disposition.

Finally ChaoticRampage's question regarding his own ban should be taken down, as Frankie is not at liberty to answer it or discuss such issue per forum rules.

The permabans were dealt out to others too, not just to those circumventing bans. The permas pretty much only went out on Friday, and I'll admit that I was probably too quick with the permaban-hammer. It all escalated so fast, and here's the admission someone was asking for a couple hours ago:

I'm human and I make mistakes.

After Friday, all bans were two weeks or less, only extending past two weeks if the player circumvented the ban.

I'll examine your ban and most likely change it to two weeks. I don't want you guys permabanned.

And I appreciate it, don't get me wrong. You'll EXCUSE me of course if I don't jump to kiss his boots. His purpose was to answer questions, and I still have them. I have all the right in the world to keep asking as long as he gives me leave to ask, and as I have not been informed otherwise, I will. One of the reasons I'm NOT banned while a good many of my "friends" as you say have is because I actually have NOT been going ape-mad on these forums. I post as I always have, which includes snide remarks that may or may not insult the sensitive, but I have not started a bunch of QQ threads or post inappropriate material or any of that bull I don't normally do ANYWAYS. Lenore simply stated/mentioned you in a statement. "There is no consistency. That's why ntkn and MANray aren't banned yet."

If it had been addressed directly to you, MANray, the statement wouldve been more along the lines of this: "MANray, from my view you deserved to be banned" (That statement is only as an example and not meant to be literal.)

I know it's not time for a grammar lesson, nor am I perfect with it; but I can clearly see the difference between merely mentioning someone and addressing them directly.

Let me answer that question with another question--
Do you know how much Psychics depend on their self-buffs? Do you even know what some of those buffs even do?

Black Voodoo-- I'll nuke harder than usual. If it's level 10, I'll nuke really hard. I'll also die like a 3x noob wearing 1x gear if someone tries to hit me with anything.

White Voodoo-- I'm a muthaf*ckin' tank....but I hit like a 3x noob wearing 1x gear.

SoV-- Something hits you, it takes damage. You also get a huge chunk of MP taken away if you're stupid enough to level it.

SoS-- I have a 5% chance to silence someone. Hooray.

SoR-- If you try to put a status effect on my ****, I will make it pop on you...Too bad it only works on weird sh*t like thunderball.

Soul of Stunning-- If you hit me, I stun you back for about 3 or 4 seconds. That's JUST enough time to run like hell to the nearest SZ.


Assassin buffs I can understand, but ours are staples to the class.

...I don't think psychic self buffs should be purge-able. Soul of _____ cannot be purged for the same reasons you cannot purge the trueform "buff" off a barb and the fox form "buff" off a veno. They are not buffs per se but mode changes. As for some buffs that are not reset even by dying, I would assume that is to make up for the horrendous cooldown :P

Yea I noticed that after I posted, I had the right buffs in mind but the wrong names XD

I could understand how Assassin buffs could be purged. (those guys, hate to be biased, NEED nurfs.)

But I mean our self buffs are staples. The only real buffs that aren't self-buffs for us are SoS, SoV, and Empowered/Diminished vigor. You make all of our buffs purgeable and we as a class would be screwed.
Black/White voodoo I could understand...but everything? I mean black and white are staples of ours...as if it wasn't bad enough they could purge that.

Not a lot of people understand our class (There are only 11 Psychics so far over level 90 in Harshlands) so they don't really understand how NOT overpowered we are compared to the Assassins. That kind of ignorance is what prones these kinds of questions.
