Psys, useless?
I just started playing and picked Tideborn psy for my first class. but someone (can't remember name. played as a untamed though) said that tideborns were pretty much useless in parties, I just wanted to know if this has any meaning or what, I'd like to play in parties, but it'd be no fun if I dragged everyone down. b:surrender

Hey tideborns have their good points, very good ones too. And Im just speaking for myself here, but getting into a party is never a problem.
We Psychics have alot of uses, for example we can tank some bosses with cleric support. I was just doing a bh run tonight and I tanked Pyro with a cleric healing me of course and it went well. Psychics are pretty fun and they make a nice addition to parties.0 -
i dnt see how pys are useless... i maybe only lvl 26 (at time of post) not only can i 3 shot mobs my lvl but also 3 lvls higher then me (with the attack buff on of course, lvl 3)... and as Selador we can tank with a cleric.. as long as you now your skils, and how to use them agianst the mobs your fighting you'll be nothing but helpfull... that untamed is jst butt hurt coz you can kill things faster0

Yup sounds like another drinks the hateraid to me. Psy have a pretty decent amount of functionality in a squad. Be it support healing , canceling, dding, slowing dmg, pushing mobs, assist aoeing, or tanking there is always something the psy can do in a party.0

well um....me think having a psychic would be pretty nice.
They has some nice damage from what me could see and they do have that emergency aoe quick mini heal & a few support skills.
not really sure how they'll do in RBs and stuff.

Having played a wizard to level 78, and from playing this psychic to level 54. I can tell you Psychics are going to completely replace Wizards in squads. Buffs are better by far, Soul of Vengeance and Empowered Vigor > The +Water Damage Buff. And although we may not hit as hard, or have as many good AoE's, we hit faster, and have debuffs to hit bosses with.0

well if you had experience you would know a good BM can also tank too yah kno thats why i left out the barb ,it doesnt matter if its a brab or bm tanking. and yes i know ONLY 6 ppl can squad thats why i had it like this--->(archer ,BM,Cleric,mage,veno) <--- thats 5+1--->the psychic=6.......or to make you feel better (archer,BARB,cleric,mage,veno)<--thats 5+1--->the psychic=6......whats so hard about that to understand???0 -

First of all i never said anything about it being 40% faster ,secondly i will repeat it again so maybe you can read it and understand (archer,BARB,cleric,mage,veno,psy)= (archer,BARB,cleric,mage,mage,veno) not much difference at all.......BUT psys have VERY fast chanelling compared to mage....are the wheels turning yet?
you would still have to vastly out damage any of the other DD classes....
somehow me doubt that.....

Well have you played one to find out for yourself.....i have and i know for a fact that archers are the fastest DDs out there ,mages are the slowest DDs but are still the elemental hard hitters and the psy are right in the middle with fast chanelling and high damage...0 -

for now psy and wizard are really really close
for now i think psy will be able to find party easyer then mage but we cant really say anything without knowing sage/demon and 79 skills

I dunno about the rest of the servs but here no one has problems finding a squad. There are 6 spots, 2 reserved for tank and cleric. If you suit the need you get in if not you wait for the next one. Psys do have a bit more to bring to the table than a wiz but they both fill the dd spot well. White Voodoo doesn't turn a psy into a super tank but there are some situations that increase the survivability of a psy where most other arcanes would have to kiss the floor. Still each class has it's advantages and disadvantages.0

2. tried the class (me actually do make alts of every class to get a feel of obvious weaknesses..but never really up them that high & me get the rest *which be most* of me required information through pk/asking others of the class/observation....)....found it frigging easy to level.
3. ya.....video of a 59 (?) psychic testing skills without providing actual damage and such.....not really helpful....me already saw all the psychic skills...
okie....well at least me found out Vorhes just likes to post alot....and his posts contain loads of useless "information".
well me am aware of the fact me can't really judge psychics since their 79 & sage/demon skills be missing still.....

Dude lol seriously your going in circles saying one thing and twisting it up to fit your agenda now for the last time and im sure others have said this and if you truly played a psy that you openly claimed you would know that the damge of a psy is the SAME as a mage BUT the CHANELLING is faster <----you dont need facts for that and if you werent trolling so much you would go check youtube and find tons of vids with psys doing damage

a psy is about as useless as the person playing it. if the person playing the psy sucks then the psy will suck. if the person playing the psy is good then the psy will be good.
thats how it works in almost all MMOs (except the ones that have flawed mechanics and OPed classes *cough*)0 -

umm dude are u freaking insane... 40% were that come from.. and plus hge said 5 classes (BM, Acher, Cleric, Veno, Wiz) leaving one stop open... why would some1 fill that stop with an other tank, when a FATSER dder can go there... a veno is only good for purify and debuffs.
ive read your other comments, and u make no sense.. acutally play a pys up to BH, then go in with the 5 classes i said up there, then go do it with the same ppl, only leave the wiz out and replace it with a good barb
its common sense to have 2 DDers (wiz and pys. 3 if u include the veno) then only 1 (2 include veno).. if you havnt got anything good to add theb get off this threat and go to ur own class thread you.0 -
For the BH's I had chance to play so far..
this was the most interesting:
Going through with 3 Psy's in a Squad ( 2 incl. me ) was a breeze,
Any of the elite mobs could not get near us ( carpet bombing anyone? ), as the 3 psy's hit for approx. 15k every 1.5 second on our level..
if any mob got to us, we were clustered together, all fire of Aqua Blast skill, terminating the few HP the monster had before it gets to hit anyone..
followed by our weak heal combined if it was Exploding monster...
And to add to that a fail BH run i was in (farren sereneti and his AoE) when everybody died exept the tank, because of his strong AOE, cleric healed the tank, while I was doing boom-boom on Sereneti OUTSIDE of his aoe range ( 29m Maxed two 1st Lvl spam skills.. )
So i think they are certainly no usless clas...
