I can agree with you that those pack made a record sale IN THE FIRST MONTH (in the official time)
hell...i purchase some too...
i bought a drake mount for 25gold and the rest i got anni packs
but then...AFTER the end of the event the packs were still there...
the ppl were starting to complain about this and there was NO response from the company...
i know there are some addicts (i know some from my server cuz i remembered duke spam all the time with that 4names cycling) that may have kept the sell up...
but when u have a referendum-like thread in the forum that has ALMOST all negative post (negative is not QQ), i think that is popular demand0 -

After the first month event, the packs were removed for a period of 2 weeks. The company never claimed that the packs would never come back.
When they came back the second time, 2 weeks after being removed, it was announced it was by popular demand. This is the point we got the second wave of some people complaining, and, just like you did, claiming they were not popular the first month. The company only claimed the packs to be back by popular demend when they brought the packs back the second time.
Summary:
The packs were returned once by popular demand. The second return was because they were mistakenly removed ahead of schedulle.
Since a very small percentage of very vocal people even come to the forums, we cannot use them as a representation of the general population.
Before you say its a sample. If that was the truth, than by all honesty, you should have equal number of threads praising PWI and the game, which, as you can tell by reading the forums, is very rare.
Anyone reading the forums, if they were to really assume the posts represent the game population, nobody would be playing this game, since most of the posts are negative, and very very few are thanking PW or expressing how happy people are.Too often we loose sight of life's simple pleasures. the majority of people DOESNT WANT TO PAY...
if not they'd have choose another game (i cant tell u 2 that r on poleposition)
if the game turn into a free to play but PAY TO WIN
then the people that played just for FUN (like me) will stay until they enjoy
but the people that plays to get END-GAME freely would leave
based on the rage-quitting period we had, after seeing HALF THE TW GETTING OWNED by the disbanding of the owner faction, and 200 pages of arguing
i assume that THIS is the majority of player...the ones that didnt liked the anni

ok Jaz...(can i call u Jaz ?)
why do u think forum are for ?
why do u think the GMs have set up a thread of the ANNIPACK JUST AFTER THEYR RELEASE ?
why do u think the GMs open any thread when an event starts ?
to measure the people's reaction, cuz ppl sustain the games
if an event is liked by the gamers there are chances that the event will be back, soon or later
they already had 100+ pages of ppl flaming the anni packs be4 they bring em back into CS... this is a fact
ofc there are ppl who r idiots, but ARE U SAYING THE MOST PART OF THE FORUM IS NEGATIVE ?
BTW
they have said they reach the RECORD in SELLING...
im just wondering:
how's the new player count ?
how's the count of player leaving ?
id like to know this...if its record from the birth of this game...
im just sad that this nice game which has JUST 1 year, is getting a bad way IMHO...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Just like customer support, people tend to go to the forums when they have a problem and are looking for solutions. Unless they are forum rats like some of us. When was the last time you submit a ticket to customer support telling them how great they were?
why do u think the GMs have set up a thread of the ANNIPACK JUST AFTER THEYR RELEASE ?
In order to keep all the posting in one thread, to make it easier to monitor, and to prevent thread spamming
why do u think the GMs open any thread when an event starts ?
See previous reply. To make it easier to monitor the threads while people post in them
to measure the people's reaction

Look at the first page of this forum. If the forums were a true snapshop of the game population, you would see equal number of positive and negative posts. What you see is a combination of people asking for help (neutral post or a little QQing) or people flat out complaining. There was one post on it earlier today from someone wishing the GMs a good holiday, but that was it for positive posts
BTW
they have said they reach the RECORD in SELLING...
im just wondering:
how's the new player count ?
how's the count of player leving ?
id like to know this...if its record from the birth of this game...
Not sure any of us would have access to this information, however, company stock, when it comes to games, usualy is tied to number of players, so the fact their stock went alot during the first pack sale, then took a little drop after sale, and went up again on second sale, would indicate they are maintaining their expected number of player
im just sad that this nice game which has JUST 1 year, is getting a bad way IMHO...
Ah here may be the problem. The game is not 1 year old. From the time it was first made as a P2P till now, this game is actualy close to 5 years old. Even the F2P version has been around for a few years in Asia. So, when they released PWI, they were already well versed on the marketing of the F2P game.
Of course you can call me Jaz. Just because I disagree with you does not mean we cannot be friendly while doing it. another thing i like to add...
there are 3kind of player (to epitomize)
the NON CASH SHOPPER
the LIGHT CASH SHOPPER
the HEAVY CASH SHOPPER
the 1st wont make difference if there are OP item in CS cuz he wont purchase
the 3rd will be happy to purchase as hell
while the 2nd will be STIMULATED to purchase cuz he dont care too much in spending a lil...
when there is the chances to get the item, the 3rd will always purchase and the 2nd will purchase quite aswell cuz he has the possibility to do that...
so just letting those pack into the CS will bring player to purchase even if they didnt want to...
its a real temptationIceJazmin - Heavens Tear wrote: »Of course you can call me Jaz. Just because I disagree with you does not mean we cannot be friendly while doing it. My commend are in that pretyt blue
yeah...b:victory
BTW the asian market is SOOOOOOOOOO different from the american 1
so even if they have the basic knowledge on "how to release what"
the market will have different effect...
at the question:
why do u think the GMs have set up a thread of the ANNIPACK JUST AFTER THEYR RELEASE ?
In order to keep all the posting in one thread, to make it easier to monitor, and to prevent thread spamming
ur not seeing my point...
is not just cuz they wanna have all the answer into one thread
they wanna know WHAT PPL THINK OF THAT EVENT...
if they liked it or not, the reaction
GMs always start the thread like this:
PLS DISCUSS THE RECENT ADD OF THIS ITEM
is not just:
PLS IF U WANNA TALK ABOUT THE ADD OF THIS, POST HERE
then i can get that that there are many complaining thread into the forum...but the people that have to talk about something will sustain theyr ideas and sometimes they get a lil harsh...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

the funny thing is that 8*, 9* are also cheaper with using Dragon Orb Ocean than combining with 1* dragon orbs.
lol heavy cash shoppers got rolled as well? they made shards a lot cheaper with events, but now it's people's real money...and not a small amount of money at that.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

IceJazmin - Heavens Tear wrote: »The only fact we have is that for the month of September, PWI reported record profits, and the packs were the most successful sale event in PW history, so much so that PW stock went up 500%.
Where are you getting your facts from? How did you come up with this 500% number? BTW, here is the last 6 months of the PW stock price :
http://www.nasdaq.com/aspx/dynamic_charting.aspx?symbol=PWRD&selected=PWRD&timeframe=6m&charttype=line
If you looked at the chart, you will see that while the stock price did go up after sep 1, it was also rising before sep 1. In fact the growth in the stock price during the 1st 3 months (before sep, ie. before anni packs were introduced) of that 6 months chart is considerably higher than the last 3 months (after the anni packs were introduced).
(If one had to draw correlations between the anni packs and stock price, it looks like the growth of the stock price has decreased since it's introduction.)
Don't want to get into a big arguement here, just wanted to straighten out some facts here.0 -
PW stock has been climbing and is now hanging right around $45.00 a share EMA (technical indicators/Upper indicators/exponential moving average).
I would say that indicates a fairly strong financial stand and would also indicate that they are making a nice reasonable amount of money (which of course indicates players buying zen between their various games).
Unless the GM's would provide us with server population charts (i.e. a flowing chart graphing how many players are online every 1/2 hour or so) we have no way of knowing how well the games doing other than from the information above (the trendline graph).
That being said. More people are enjoying the Anni packs than those who are crying about in my opinion.

Yes, it has been hovering around $45 since sep in spite of pretty good growth in the previous 3 months. I was trying to dispell the myth that the stock price somehow increased 500% since introducing anni packs. This is not the case. And if one had to draw a correlation between the 2 (stock price and anni-packs), it would actually reflect badly for the anni-packs, not favorably (due to decrease in growth since sep).0 -
