I wonder now what new ways of **** ppl aroud will PWI find? Honestly, I'm waiting for the next big thing.
I was a CS shopper, but I stopped at this aniversary event. And I won't put 1$ in this game untill I see a change in attitude.

someday when people start leaving and PW will finally wake up to this fact...0 -
I will gladly drop another couple hundred dollars on gold anniversary packs, but not until they restore the ability to reset our genies if we havent done so yet0
-
I would have like a little warning myself. I was able to get the reset for my main (this char), but was unable to get it for my wizard, whose genie was far more nerfed than my barb. I knew that there was no way it would last forever, but a warning would have been great.b:sad[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Something that I don't see addressed here yet is the compensation for the level resets. My barb who leveled his Tree of Protection to the max is now unable to use this skill because it's level requirements have changed. When once his lvl 9 skill was operable in his 60's, now he cannot use the skill at all because the genie is not supposed to learn level 9 until level 71. In order to use this skill at all he will have to go several levels with an inoperable genie or forget the skill and start it over again throwing away all of his hard earned coins and spirit. If you could make a way for the genie to forget one level of skills for those who have the same malfuntion or offer a forget skill that would refund you the coins and spirit you invested into the original skill it would compensate for the genie changes.
Edit: Wouldn't this not also benefit those who have invested into skills that are no longer suited to their needs?0 -
I guess it is just a matter of being patient right now. I was in 100 second stand in cube and I went to use tree and it didn't work. Yeah, it is frustrating for everyone. But hey, when the pet packs and other things went off sale early, they brought them back the following week. Thing is, it was cash shop, it was a loss for them, and they gained it back the following week.....
UNFORTUNATELY, genies are technically free. So..who knows if they will even address this issue. I hope they bring new light and new found hope themselves, because a lot of people are about to give up due to the lack of care to their players.

Just wanted to point out that you CAN do this already. On the forget genie skill window, there's a box in the lower right that you can use to input how many levels of the skill you want to forget. If you put nothing in there, you drop the skill completely. Otherwise, the amount of skill levels the genie forgets is dependent on what amount you put there.
On that note, it would be nice if the window showed more than just distance changes for skills. Especially since most of us would be changing the skill level to either use less energy, cost less stamina, or to use an effect from an earlier level of the skill.0 -
yah its kinda **** the stuff got taken out, granted so many skills got changed ,been testing skills/talkin to people so i know a lot of people that hadnt picked up the order/stone yet to use on their "final" genie0

I agree they ought be made available another week, especially as it wasn't until you took them away that you fully fixed the descriptions of what the techniques did.
I however, am going to have to shop at the boutique to buy my resets
b:sad I didn't read the part about the descriptions not being correct until after I'd used mine. Oh well.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I agree with reinstating them for a set amount of time. If they want it to be available only temporarily, then that's fine, but the players should be notified.
I quoted the part above because it's an excellent reason to have this done as well. People who may have thought they didn't need to restat/skill their genies, now have changed their minds.
I myself got the resets, because like falls, I've become a bit cynical as to how these things work. However, I definitely feel that this is highly unfair to the obviously massive group of players who did not because they thought the quest would stick around. As has been said, there was no indication whatsoever that this quest would be temporary.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I don't see why they weren't just left in for those who hadn't gotten them yet. Shut off the ability for new people to get them, but not everyone checks the forum so one week only and not even an announcement about "Get them now, they'll be gone in a week" so those of us that pass forum info along to others could have warned people ahead of time.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
I also understand it being for a limited time, but agree it should be reinstated with a definite "this is when the offer ends" notice.
I have several more chars that I haven't been on for more than a week that don't have it either, so I'm biased.
But this many people with the same problem and I suggest straightening it back out.
Certainly easier than scouring the database, trying to figure out who qualifies and *hasn't* gotten it already, and mailing them to everyone.

Feedback? We've been waiting for an answer from you. IDK what feedback you are looking for other than we want the items back since it was the devs' fault that the text descriptions weren't correct UNTIL they got rid of the reset items. This is not a debate about whether chickens were the ones that jacked up the gold price, so not really sure what to "agree or disagree" on. Unless some players are happy that the resets were taken out and that they just couldn't stand having that reset quest there anymore or that they took the quests already and is dying that others who haven't still had the chance to.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Just wanted to put my vote in. Agree, please bring back the resets. I never got around to doing my alt and when I did it was gone. Took me forever to figure out what I wanted on my main without proper descriptions thats why I was waiting. Thanks for all your work spoons.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

I think the entire situation for reset was handled badly.
1) patch notes were misinformed stating you would get X amount of resets only to get Y based on level if at all. Would have been nice to know that ahead of time.
2) Cause it was based on level and the updates to skills were not posted in game till now many may not have been aware of how this impacts them until this release came out.
A better method would have been to maybe make it expandable (quest at lvl 20, 40, 60, 80). Also make it so only people made before the patch get the quest without a limit on when we can get it.0 -

I think the change on the genies again! Is epic fail to be honest...RIP to group holy path wich helped alot in my party to get going through fb or in a tight bind..top is ok now..not as good as it was..other skills that were great for luring tons of mobs are now gone..RIP blinding sand for gathering for me now genies just basicly burn up perfect stones like nothing.I would fill my genie up to 300k stam and it would last a week or more depending on how i aoe grind...now i can burn 200k stam in 2 days..well actually less time than that hour wise...seem u grow to adapt to a change and they go mess it up again.
Wrong topic.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I agree - at least a warning in patch notes about one week availably would have been enough.0

Regarding posting our opinions here for the agree or disagree request: I'm not certain but I believe I was the first to post about this problem in the maintenance thread after reading the patch notes right after the servers came back up (briefly... we won't go there). I also already posted that same thought here since I figured after seeing this thread that this was a better venue for the issue.
Reinstating the quests is the bare minimum to do. However I completely disagree with there being any time limit on the resets, etc. availability. The game clearly has a built in ability to distinguish between characters that have taken a quest already or not (as noted by the watcher of the earth giving the free genie once per character). The game also has the ability to distinguish the date of character's creation (as noted by the anniversary mounts going to those created before whatever date) [or was that by account creation date? if so then the dev's should be able to find a way relatively simply]. Put the two together and you have a quest that can only be taken once and only by characters of the appropriate age.
I see no point in hurrying people into taking the items when it works just as well to have the quest wait until we're ready to use it.
P.S. To the person that quoted the TOS as justification for this happening... just because something CAN be done is no justification for it TO be done, most especially when it pisses off the people who had to agree to said TOS and expect a modicum of warning of such changes in return. It's not likely this was some emergency change made in order to prevent some disastrous server crash, so there was time for the player base to be warned.
P.P.S. I also want to second someone's point about appreciating the level of involvement of the admins and others here. I too have played other games where the most you could expect was an untelligible reply to an email you sent 2 months prior. If only the whole chain of command kept you in the loop as much you try to keep us informed. So to all the Admins, GMs, Mods, etc.... I salute you. Thank you and thank you for putting up with all the people that blame you for everything.0 -

A time limit makes perfect sense. A genie can be traded. A new character/account is trivial to make. If there weren't a time limit, they would defeat the purpose of those items being in the CS. However, they should tell people when it will disappear so that those who do want to use the reset, can get it. Removing it with no warning is the issue really... not the removal itself.0 -
Lol honestly, trying to put this as nice as I can.....you guys got WTFPWNED.0

I fully agree with the majority in this thread. Pulling a quest, at the same time as actually updating genie descriptions, is a very, very bad move. In a long list of bad moves.
I like PWI. Heck, I like it. It's the first MMORPG that has managed to keep my attention for more than a month, even considering the amount of grinding that this game demanded. Customization which (usually) prevented you from running into three thousand people looking exactly like you (in how many games can you recognise someone on their CHARACTER instead of their name??), easy flight, swimming, almost unlimited moving around...
But it just keeps going downhill. There's a TON of bugs that's known, and has been known about since I started playing at the start of the year - but very, very few have been fixed. 95% of all patches I see only contain new cash shop stuff. The rest are usually just corrected translation-bloobers.
While I fully agreed and signed that I consented to PWE owning my account and everything on it, and that they have a right to change everything without having to notify me, there is still something called common respect.
A series of VERY radical changes were made to a large, if optional, part of the gameplay. While I was very happy and pleasantly surprised - even to the point of restoring my hope in PWI as a game with a future - to see that free reset items were made available, I can't help but be appaled by this sudden change of heart.
The genies have been through a -lot- of changes lately. Any small amount of logical sense would deduce that people will therefore be careful about respeccing their genie, just in case that their new skillset will be changed around again. So people sit back with a bit of patience and observe. With the havock from the anniversary packs still rampaging, gold prices being all over the place, and the amount of complains in World Chat and on the forums having broken a new world record...
Pulling those promised items after a week, without warning, and while the genie skills are still being changed around, is possibly one of the most stupid things I have ever seen anyone do as the developers of an online game.
GMs, my full respect and compliments to you for weathering the storm and trying to patch up broken feelings and angry attitudes. I don't know what PWE pays you guys, if at all, but you definitely deserve a WAY bigger paycheck.
Devs and owners of PWE? You suck, and have absolutely no idea of how a gamer's head thinks. Please stop coding and making new ideas to bleed us dry, and try to actually play the game for once. It's fun - trust me. And we would very much like to see it be kept like that.0
