Genie resets gone.. where was the warning?

I gather the stones or whatever they are were only suppose to be only for one time only as they updated the genies.You can still use the stones or w/e to change the attributes and affinety.I changed my affinety this morning.

Problem is the quest to get the stones are gone... totally without warning. The stone and quest is one-time use only anytime, so there's no reason to remove the quest. The patch note even specified that:

"Please note that this quest is only available once per character."

That seemed to imply the quest is there until you use it. There's no mention that they will remove the request. All we asked for is that PWI give us a warning before removing stuff like this.

If not then a regualr quest x)

best way decompose that Genie make a new one and just do your quests to lv it ...it lv up the hard way like you do >:D

It's not easy to remake a genie consider how much EXP/SP it takes. Mine took 30% of my lvl 85 EXP just to go from 81 to 82. It's also even harder to get a genie to high lvl AND have good lucky points. I've gone through at least 50 genies already and the best one so far is 59/80.

If you like getting what you've worked hard for broken once every two weeks, that's fine. Most of us work to make something in the game so we could use it not so that we get to work for it again after someone press the reset button every few weeks.

Is it really taking almost 2 weeks to even get an explanation for this, Spoons?

I support reinstating the resets for another week along with a clear announcement of the time limit if that's the only option we have to get the resets back, but that's not the most practical thing to do.
Looking back, the best thing to do would have been to send the resets to everyone's postboxes, like they did with the free anniversary mounts. That way, players could've gotten the resets whenever they wanted, and all this fuss about players being on vacation and whatnot could've been avoided.
If they do decide to give out the resets again, instead of making it a quest, they should really think about putting them in the postboxes.

I don't believe that this cause is lost until a mod or gm closes the topic. This topic was recommended to stay open by a GM (eatwithspoons for president) and we as a community that would like a response will keep it that way. ^^

Um... You DO know you could have collected it and NOT spent it right? Considering we've all used genie restat items before, it didnt make us choose right then and there. Thats what the banker is for =/

It's like getting a check from the goverment on a carpenter and architects to rebuild your leased house, because the goverment accidentally tore down your leased house. And then getting told that the check was voided a week after when the carpenters and architects came back from holiday and you could get in touch with them, and sorry, no refunds?

Actually in your case it got voided because you didnt go up and COLLECT it in the first place. The notice was there, but the payee did not go to get the check :P
Now if someone actually went to collect the items and THEN it got voided or disappeared, THAT would be a problem.


All in all, altho i think it would certainly not be nice if i missed getting the genie items, I think with 1.5 weeks or so, I could have grinded enough to buy 80.

@Deceptistar - Pretty much all business and government checks will get voided after anywhere from 30 to 90 days..... This is specialy true when it comes to rebates/refunds. However I think your Description did hit the nail on the head.

You get a free gift card from a store and it doesn't say anywhere that there is a time limit or expiry date. You then take your time to wait until a product you actually want hits the shelves to use your gift card. But when you decide to go and use it, its nulled because the issuers decided to void it on a date they pulled out of thin air.

Yeah the gift card could have been used right away, but most people generally decide to wait until they actually want something to use their card. I don't know about you, but to me that's a low blow.

It seems a tad unfair in this case, even if the ToS states they can do this. Legally it's their right, but morally I believe it's unjust. Like some other people said, many of the genie descriptions are faulty, not to mention many of the skills were revamped and redesigned so much that our current stats didnt match our previously hard earned skills. It seems irrational to penalize people who wanted to wait for a confirmation that the genies are actually working at 100%.

I didn't get my reset stone. Though I'm not actively pissed, it does show something about the nature of PWI, and it's nothing good at that.

From past experience, added quests have never been removed from PW unless it was pre-stated like the Jolly Jones. The supply stash quest is still there. Sure, the nature of the 2 quests are different, but you can't say that we should've seen this coming.

In that past yes. But if youve been following for the past few months, at least from what ive seen, the last 4-5months were filled with minor..........'miscommunications' so to say. So personally i wasnt actually suprised.

You're right. They didn't have to give us anything. But one would think it's the right thing to do after letting players pump millions of spirit, experience and coins into them and then returning their genies to nil and reducing their efforts to zilch. Offering a remedy for their actions and then taking it away without notice, as I said above, is all within their power and right. But ethically and morally? In my humble opinion, it's wrong on so many levels.

the gift card example was much better than mine, i really dont understand the people saying too bad, its as if they expect people to be psychic. How would anyone know it was temporary when nothing was said/written about temporary until it was removed. There is no past events or anything like this to suggest they would take it back, although now that this has happened, ill be picking up my quests immediately after this. I would really hope a GM would comment on this and let us know what their plans are about this or if nothing is going to be done.

I agree with the others that complained. I left Ulitma Online after 5 years because they started changing the hit points on pets and how they became weaker as time went on. Please Please i beg u folks not to mess with the weapons and critters that are already ingame. I know a lot of people are looking at an other new game out there. They will come back if u guys dont hurt us.
