Ok.....I do not know the exact "numbers" or what exactly it does. But think of it this way...When you add Attribute points into your character (similar to the Genie's) you get "stronger" in that area. Whether it be mag, str, dex, etc.

It is really no different then the Affinity of the Genie. Adding more Wood will make the Wood spell stronger. Along with the Level of the skill and the extra attribute points you add.

In this case, Extreme Poison: Dexterity: Every 10 Genie Dexterity points increases the damage by 1%.

HOWEVER....I would not worry about the "extra" Affinity points you have until you are 100% sure on all the skills you are going to be getting. This is because you have to use Boutique items to reset the points and even then you coulc be in some trouble.

Genies are all about planning around the skills you are going to get. I currently have 3 Genies b:sweat. And all are built VERY differently, in fact they are built very specifically to the skills on them. Grinding/normal, PvP and GV (Rebirth). Which in the Rebirth one had NO room for error b:surrender. Pain in my side really...

I know this may not be the very specific answer that you are looking for, but when it comes to the Genies there is still a lot of "ummm's" or "whys"

All skill except Venom Stinger and Balance cannot be clicked on. There is always an error message when I hover my mouse over the icon and I cannot click it at all. I think this happen after ecatomb add Balance to the skill list (and perhap update other skill too to remain in sync with the patch but I don't know since I cannot click on others). I can see the skill perfectly fine before.
Btw, Skill List by Affinity is erronous too, 2 skill have wrong affinity and 3 skill do not state correctly the water/air requirement. I cannot remember what they are but "tree of protection" and "frozen domain" are 2 of them.

However....I do know that they are trying to update some of the Genie skills on the site since in this version some things have been changed with the various patches.

Because that is odd.

I do however have other skill layouts in this guide that may help...or if you can narrow down a few skills I might be able to help.

Anyways.....ilystah.....give me the top 5 skills you are looking at and I will look them up for you if you are skill having issues or questions.

There is also a large response in this thread regarding some skills that maybe you might find helpful.

Hmmmm....not sure about the "locked" thing. The only thing that I can think of for that is the Safety Lock. This however should never be touched, if you have there is a sticky in the forums here in regards to that issue. Also, when you first log in there about a minute of cooldown in which one cannot trade, open mail, etc (Safety Lock but this is with everyone).

Only other thing I can think of is that the Genie you may have is a higher level then you and in that case you cannot use it. Your Genie cannot be a higher level then your character.

Also, in terms of using the Experience Cube. Once again you cannot use a Cube that is a higher level then your Genie's level.

Let me know if any of these are the issue.
