I'm not much of a Rarity fan but thought this last ep was fantastic! It definitely brought the show back to its strengths and featured such great writing and animation. I especially liked how that assistant asserted herself at the end. It seemed like she had an even greater lesson learned than the rest and was able to stand on equal footing with the main cast. It's so rare on this show to have a supporting character display that much chutzpah.
My one gripe was Alicorn Princess Twilight Sparkle being unable to hail a cab and being told to get to the back of the line. Even if no one recognized her as the heir apparent to the god queen of Equestria surely someone would have noticed she had both a horn and wings.[sigpic][/sigpic]

I agree. Rarity (Best Pony
) and the episode in general was pretty well written, and it was nice to see that even as she makes a name for herself (as one of the few goal-oriented ponies its good to see some progress) she still knows where her loyalties lie, just like Sweet and Elite. The song wasn't very strong, but decent nonetheless, and it was good to get some worldbuilding done on Manehattan.
Coco Pommel is just adorable too! Its a rarity (heh) to see a pony in the background actually come out of it and do something significant like she did. Speaking of the background, it was nice to see a cameo of Hoity Toity, Photo Finish, Sapphire Shores (who will return to the forefront soon enough), Fancy Pants, and Fleur.
As for Twilight and the cab, you could say a lot of things about it, really.

I miss synchtube working. Was a great way to catch up on any I missed or rewatch without any worries. Plus getting to chat with folks when they were there was a nice bonus.
EDIT: Veneir, the "Daring Don't" episode also isn't listed there for some reason.
Eh, its not too big of a loss. Usually on an episode's premiere Ive seen at least 4+ streams running them and the episodes themselves get released online within a couple hours after they air. Its a bit difficult to watch a new episode and discuss it at the same time, but at least there's always a general thread or two to discuss it all afterwards~

Just started watching the new one so unrelated:
Sometimes, in the episodes, it feels really unrealistic that Twilight doesn't get special treatment for being an alicorn-- example: like in last episode where they 'had to wait for a taxi like everyone else' especially in contrast to how much she was thought of in episode one of this season ....or just generally any of them since they've saved Equestria how many times now?
But then I think it's for the best these characters aren't waited on all weird so try and forget about it OTL

^Its for this reason (among others)that I feel like the Alicorn ascension was unnecessary. Sure, for the two-parter opener this season it adds to her character in giving her some authority/importance (Then again, Twilight's almost always been the most important/influential in every two-parter), but otherwise, she could have remained a unicorn to the very same effect for the most part.

Because one of the perks to playing pwi is that you'll never miss a pony episode. They are absoluteily related. One of the servers is even 'the pony server'.
