Personally i can care less about power leveling, personally never done it in all my time on PWI. (Aint my only character.) But i just find it a meh factor when people who get power leveled to what ever level or end game then pretend there amazing at everything...yet know nothing? That gets annoying. I mean if you can play your character well enough, and know what your doing then go power level who cares. I just don't enjoy being in a squad where half or 2 people don't know how to play there class right and i have to tell another psyc what to use and what not to use in instances or when to BoL/etc, or psycs who for some reason vigor themselves and not the barb even tho there hitting a boss that does no aoe damage and there not stealing agro, just tarded. //Rant over. b:shutup

but wouldnt maturity also be ... reading this topic .. and actually staying on topic and posting something that counts... i mean if u feel the erge to post on the irrelavants and not what was asked (pro;s and con's of power leveling) the maturity person would just leave it alone ^^ +1 for me? that puts my score at 7 now.... sorry cant count :/

Oh god, I give up on trying to read this thread. Every one of your responses gets worse; I think my IQ has dropped significantly just by trying to make sense of your jumbled posts. And as for the last part of that second quote...you're talking about maturity, yet your posts reflect none of it whatsoever. If you don't want people going off topic and talking about your issues with punctuation, you could try cleaning up your posts so it's actually bearable to read them.

As for powerleveling, there's really not a problem with people who already have high level chars powering alts through to endgame. What IS problematic is when new players powerlevel, and then you end up with level 80s asking who Wyvern is, or not knowing what Amp and Purge are--when they're a veno.

You'd get on anyone's bad side if you try to brag about your "net worth" and how many teles you waste as a way to rationalize powerleveling. You'll notice I'm not the only one here that doesn't take you seriously.

The Good. For those of us that already have a few high-level (95+) toons, it's nice to skip over the middle stuff. We're already familiar with game-mechanics and just need to adapt to the new skills.

The Bad. People who aren't really familiar with the game mechanics, who are new to the game, or are unable to figure out new skills, or learn to properly level them before being counted on in a squad situation, **** up the game experience for those of us that do actually know how to play. Which is why there is SO much QQing about it.

By the 80's a cleric should know to purify on Clacid, Wyvern, Drake, Glutt, Nob, and Pole.
A veno should have Amp and Lending hands and know how/when to use them.
BM's, Sins, Psy's, Wizards, and Archers, regardless of APS or DD power should know how to fight a boss without taking aggro.
Sadly, the bad is more common than the good. Hence the QQing.

    @Bold: I knew that at lvl 40 @_@....
Then again I didn't give a **** about aggro when I was getting this char up in lvl's since it's my second BM (first is 100...this is going to be the second at 100 @_@)

Anyhow....I personally love to make squad's look at my BM and go "WTF!? IS THIS BM ****ING NUTS!?" cause of pulls, boss moves, etc that I do.
Sadly I wish they would change slash boss in Frost back to 3 seconds so I can keep DD'ing it w/o death :(

Looking at the concept of power-leveling logically, it seems to be just a simple black and white scenario in which the answer to the "yay or nay" question depends on what kind of person is taking advantage of it.
(I'll be referencing only FC runs as an example, but my rational here applies to all forms of power-leveling)

Certain players will painstakingly grind their way up to the top, clock in countless hours and obtain a strong grasp on how the game works. This type of player knows his class from experience. This player is knowledgeable enough to work their way through the ins and outs of whatever new class he or she might be making in the future. These players will never view power-leveling as an absolute necessity, but also knows that it can be done, in moderation, that it doesn't compromise the integrity of said character.

The other kind of player will see power-leveling as a way to reach the top and get all the best gear and such in the quickest amount of time possible. I'll make the blunt assumption that this person care a little more about this game than is healthy: to think that simply by being a "pro" character that they are impressing someone who actually matters in their life. One can power-level and cash shop his or her way to godliness without putting in a fraction of the time or work spent by those of us who actually play the game to play the game. Whether a veteran or a "newbie", this kind of player will see "WTS FC run 500k..etc" and take the bait every time, just to get to level 100.

The issue I have with power-leveling is that because of it, reaching a high level is no longer an achievement. The way things should be is that players who are level 80+ should be viewed with the assumption that they are experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated players, worthy of respect. Unfortunately, due to the ease of which power-leveling can be done, those who have played the game without cutting corners can no longer be distinguished between those who cash shopped for all their gear and cut corners for their levels. Characters with actual substance now exist in anonymity.

Nobody -really- wants to cash shop. In stage terms, that's "breaking the fourth wall". The point of any kind of video game is that it casts it's players into a new "world" (so to speak) in which real-life factors don't reflect on the game. It's completely understandable that players who'v legitimately worked for their high level without cash shopping want to keep as much of their gaming experience *IN GAME* as possible. Selling FC runs is just another way of playing the market.

It's full of negative consequences. It's shady, but it's legit.

In short, power-leveling ruins the pride and respect that *ALL* high level characters deserve. Those of us who enable others to power-level for our own benefit are simply exploiting a personality defect that many have, to cut corners with no thought of any kind of consequence.

This skill is called roar and it's not a sword skill that is just what the animation looks like.
Pet's also have this skill but it's single target only.

There is also aplha male which is a little harder to explain cause idk if you can see somebody use it or if it's only shown on their screen but basically it's like a dragon icon that shows largely on your screen and then pounds over to character to symbolize they have taken aggro by making the mob more angry at them.....it's very weird b:sweat

also, roar is not for HOLDING aggro, just for GETTING it. when a barb roars, that's a clue to the DDs to ease up for a few and let the barb get a proper hold on all that just-reset aggro or they'll steal it. (when a veno pet roars, that's usually because the tank just died and the veno's doing a hail-mary pet tanking gambit hoping to last long enough for that tank to get ressed and rebuffed.)

I have been on topic the duration of my posting here. You are very much obviously a "con" of power leveling, and what you have been saying about your accomplishments amount to hersay since you have no proof of them.

Post on you main, maybe someone will take you seriously unless it's fabricated, like your accomplishments.

ok for 1 i didnt power level any of my characers and my 92 wiz only did 3 fc's. my accomplishments arent really the point i was makeing sorry if i offended you by stateing them... this is my mains account >.> i dont know how to make my icon say 92 wiz and am to lazy to figure it out... but the whole server knows who i am i dont have to fabricate as i said sir. i am a legend.

I like powerlevel. i think it's a clever way to make money. like, once venos were hated because "rare pets isnt fair!! they're the richest and most powerful class ever" and its like not that worthy anymore (the pets, i mean). so if you don't have a good gear neither level to solo FF, whats the big deal of paying someone to do it? pwi is not going to put an end at this because as ppl level faster, they get even poorer (1m a run is kinda too much, i agree >.>) and go for fast cash. and as they hit 101 and have no money to get r9 gear or even shard it, more and more cash is purchased (either if the player isnt patience enough to go TT or something...). so idk, i rather pay someone to powerlevel me till 80 and then make my own squads b:victory

by the way, how many runs do I need to hit level 80? i'm level 75 (supposing i'm going 2 runs a day hypering only at big room and heads) ty ty b:bye

i enjoyed reading this and a well respected post ...and i feel the same about power leveling with pride and respect so i didnt power level any of my toons but i dont buy gold and power leveling people is a legit way to make some extra cash... and as a wizard :/ not much i can solo cheaply to make money and merchanting only takes u but so far...but i hold nothing against people who power level cause at the end of day its a game and they can have fun however they choose but for us people who didnt power level ... we know what perfect world really is and we've expanded its fun to last many many moons while p lvl'ed people only think they know fun ^^

    Again a thread like this ? b:shocked

Just do like most posters replied to that in other ones.

    - Jealous of someone powerleveling and you can't ? Your problem, not theirs.

    - You get in a squad with someone that powerleveled and feel he/she is a noob ? Leave squad, blacklist if needed.

    - You made 10 alts and want to do the whole arch area of quests 10 times ? it's you.

Each their ways of playing the game..
In game chars (Raging tide, over a year im here)
    Sir_Puma (BM 98)-- L_y_n_x (Barb 85) Cyres (Cleric 69)
BurningHeart (Wiz 34)-- LadyPuma (Veno 57,used as bank char)
Vincinator (Test seeker lvl 46,RiP)-- Amup( True Seeker 71)

He may not know who you are, Vision, but I do, as well as most of the Arch server. Your net worth came entirely from scamming people, to the point that your rep is completely ruined, and you never play that toon anymore. I think that speaks to your maturity as well, doesn't it? There isn't one person in the Arch server, besides yourself of course, that would describe you as "legendary" or "epic." As for powerleveling, to each his own. I feel sorry for the people that you convince to pay you 5 mil for one hour in the PQ pit though rofl.

Everything has its beginnings, but it doesn't start at one. It starts long before that... The world is born From zero. The moment zero becomes one is the moment the world springs to life. One becomes 2. 2 becomes 10. 10 becomes 100. taking it all back to one solves nothing. so long as zero remains... One.. Will eventually grow to 100 again.
