The ONLY way to make money (other than being the government and just taking the money from the people) is to offer something that people want. Because if people want it, they'll give you money so they can have it.
I don't care about cashshop so I don't know what the whining is about, but if people don't like the stuff that's in the shop then they won't buy it. It's really simple.
Sure, there's always some grey area with things that people need (so they have to buy it, whether they want to or not. They can still try to walk around looking for someone offering cheaper food or clothing or whatever, though), but PWI cash shop items are certainly not in that category.Slow progress, game is getting way too grindy :-( Quests I still hope to be able to do some day: FB39, General Feng0 -

Businesses usually don't exploit the obsessive compulsive behavior of people, nor do they typically treat you bad and expect you to come back. With all the addicted and obsessive compulsive people here, they freely treat their paying customers however they want.
If you provided a real life service or product in the same manner PWI does, you would go out of business very quickly.

It's like going to your favorite burger joint... you just got there, order an hamburger, you love them so much... you paid $10 and you know they probably spit on it because they keep turning your back so you can't see them prepare it. 5 minutes later someone else comes in, gets a larger and bigger burger for $5 they prepared for him while he could watch, you see this... and you're happy and want to come back.oh and i already told you i coin farm most of my gold

(in response to the paragraph) thats stupid, if you knew they were going to spit in your food why are you going there? better question, why is it your favorite? i just spent $13.67 4 days ago for a burger i didnt see prepared (omg red robin is so delicious) and guess what? people there probably got cheaper burgers that may or may not have tasted better than mine, i do know quite a few were larger but i wasnt fond of the other things they put on the burgers (pickles and tomatoes....ew!!) but i guess the endless steakfries were a decent deal, i mean i could have eat.......................................wait................................ this thread isnt about hamburgers...............its about a game........yeah see? i can go off topic too.
as for your afterthought for starting somewhere: last i checked it wasnt unprofitable up until level 100 to try and grind out coin or do quests for them, sure it takes a little longer but if i buy 1 gold for 300k and put it in th AH for 350k thats a 50k profit as well as making the original 300k back. do it enough times and you can buy TWO gold at 300k and resell at 350k, with 100k profit this time! the more you sell, the more you can buy. eventually you will become the largest supplier of gold in the AH and buy out anyone under you and resell theirs at your price. not to mention effectively control gold prices yourself. oh and with those profits you can run a 24/7 catshop (assuming you have a second computer) that does the same thing, but with things other than gold (tokens seem to be always popular, but if you are feeling frisky you can try your hand at the wraith officer badge market.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

It's not off topic. PWI is a service provider. Unlike a restaurant They provide nothing tangible. well unless i was looking at their bill i really have no way of knowing how much they paid. and idk about you but i dont walk up to random people and ask what they paid so i could potentially rage. i figure if someone gets the exact same burger as me for less money, there is a reason behind it. what if they had coupons? what if they were family to someone in the restaraunt?

People should have recognized the theme all the way back to the Silver Mane and Violet Lightning. Exclusivity in this game is about getting something EARLIER than everyone else. That is the premium you pay, whether it's in F2P effort, or cash shopping by alternative means. Eventually, it will be in the cash shop, and affordable to the masses.
The whole communist vs capitalist stuff is way not relevant to Rank 8.0 -

Work hard? I barely play the game. I've spent maybe 6 hours playing since last weekend's TW... one full GV, Celestial Tiger, Tourney, a few BHs and a little bit of PK in the last 6-7 days... otherwise I'm afk in-game.
At last maintenance, I had 6 gold, 2 platinum charms and about 35m in assests with no coin. I basically dropped my load into refines. I'm back up to 65m coin and about 50m in assets. I'm not doing great, but I'm certainly doing ok. Working hard? lol. That's funny.I post in forums. This one and others. That's why I post.0 -

and the advantage here for me is the -int top. i can now grind more stuff faster, making more money. not everyone rolled a 4 APS base assassin.

Theres a difference between wanting total equality and a little bit of balance.
Packs came out, epic event gear came out with them. Sure, people whined a little. But we accepted this. This ridiculously cheap rank stuff just makes that rich/poor gap a freaking canyon.
Sure it's great to make money of the cashshoppers, but is it worth giving up a good chunk of your player base, since most of us don't even have a chance in hell of getting geared up enough to be anything in PVP?
At least its not permanent I spose, but the damage to gold will be.0 -
