I don't want to sound like the bad guy here, but it seems pretty obvious why there has been a poll made for the new Moderator position. One being in the first place, most wanted a Mod that they already knew and "liked", now saying this is a popularity contest is correct, I can almost guarantee if all the applications were posted here, it would still be a matter of who you like more(popularity contest). Even when you apply for a job, it is the same, you and another person could be equally qualified for the job, so now it must boil down to who the interviewer or interviewers(being this community) likes more, in this situation, it appears to be Fuzzy.

Another reason I think this poll was made is so forum users are not shocked(like with Grim and Shelly), or confused as to why the next Mod was chosen, because this time it would be on the communities head and not the CMs.

So based on this poll it seems like this is the CMs way of making the "majority" of the community happy, without having to deal with all the previous chaos Grim and Shelly had to deal with.

    (This is Oneji btw)

Why does it have to be a popularity contest with every single thing?

People complain because we didn't get to choose our own mods but when we finally get a chance to, people still complain! Why? Because apparently it's a popularity contest?

I'm pretty sure that if Hamsta ( sorry to use your name but yours is the one I know most that pops up on forums XD if you still play anyway D: ) was on the list, nearly everyone would have picked him.

Obviously if they are in the poll they have some sort of potential that the GMs see (that we as players may not see) and they believe they will get the job done.

Also, side note: if you think all the candidates for the moderator position are horrible people and unfit for the job, then stop BSing so much on the forums and creating chaos so that way we don't have to have another moderator nominated to monitor us on the forums. Sheesh.

frankieraye has obviously achieved what he set out to do, which is to create an illusion that whoever comes out 'victorious' in this poll came all down to what the community chose.

All those people on their soapboxes going on about how frankieraye can't please the community, and that he is just giving us what we asked for, you just gobbled right up what frankieraye has created.

I personally never advocated for a popularity contest, and nor has many others. The sentiments I got from the community was the need for communication and transparency. For all we know, frankieraye wrote everyone's name on a piece of paper, put it all in a hat, and then pulled six names out; he then sets up a poll, thereby allowing the community a real choice.
They basically already did that in the Mod Application thread.

Sure, people stated who their preferred choice would be, but there was also discussion surrounding some of the candidates, the latter of which should have been your focus.

Democracy = allowing morons to vote in Bush, for two ****ing terms = people who rarely visit/post on the forum coming on and voting for "Oh, he seems like a nice guy."

frankieraye, you should consider a career in politics, your talents are wasted here.

This thread really reminds me of people voting in real life...they cite things totally un-related to someone's ability to do what the position in question requires and use that as reasoning to vote for that person. Some people are voting for Fuzzy merely because he posts in the third person...are you kidding? How does that qualify him to be a moderator. If you are going to vote and post a reason why, at least make it related to how you feel that person is going to be a good moderator...

On a side note, I voted for Dyskrasia...I hate how this seems to be going down "party" lines...server being more like it...

lol you guys are just bloody amazing.

frankie picks mods - you guys go apeshiz crazy at having mods imposed upon you.

so.. to include the community frankie opens up a mod position and invites people to submit their names for it. they even allow a post to stand where the submissions can be discussed.

frankie then picks a selection of candidates from those who submitted, based on thier post, the feedback and posting history etc.

and now people come on saying this is the dumbest way to pick a mod? presumably because their member of choice isnt in the list...

some people just like being ornery I guess. if you don't like the options you dont have to vote. but if you don't vote don't cry about it later.

Clearly the only way the people will be pleased is if Longknife is allowed to declare himself dictator for life. As things stand now, it's an absolute atrocity that he's not even on the poll.

Didnt read all the thread and if its been said already i dont care either b:chuckle but
for those saying its a popularity contest , isnt that what you want ? or would you soner frankie pick some one unpopular ? .

Dont go saying you would soner he pick some one qualified to do the job because he did that in the past and that didnt work .

Or do you think he picked the previous mods because he thought they wernt qualified ? .

You have the choice now , vote for whom you feel from the 6 would be the closest to making a decent mod.

If you dont vote then dont complain if you get some one you feel is totaly inadequate.

If you feel there all inadequate then tough, some times in life you have to make the most out a bad situation.

edit : I voted Zoe, the reasons i already explained in the moderator thread :)

Heya all. I voted for KrittyCat, I know the dude, nice dude! He is also from Dreamweaver, so that is a bonus.

Judging by the current poll results, Fuzzy stands a fairly good chance of coming out on top. I would ask Fuzzy that Fuzzy not talk in the third person if he becomes moderator. Azzazin (and I am sure many others) do find this very verrrry annoying.

    mkay?

It's a tradeoff either way; either the voters are anonymous and your privacy is protected, or you can see everyone's vote, meaning that people may feel social pressures to vote or not vote for a certain candidate.

I voted for Krisnda to be the new mod.

    Why?

First off, Kris is pretty known by the community, he also has alot of experience about the game (Since he has been playing this game for a while now). He also a reputation of being a helpful to others by giving good information about certain problems on the "Beginners Guide", "Technical Support", and etc.

Here's a guide he made on: How to take a screenshot and upload it on to the Fourms/Tickets

He also pretty active on the forums, funny and nice if you get to know him.

Lastly, he is a person that will most likely be on task being a mod, but like every human he will most likely won't be on 24/7 all the time to look for troll threads and etc (So don't complain if a mod is not online to help all the time since they got a life to just like you).

So, this is pretty much why I think that Krisnda should be a mod for the PWI forums. b:victory

1.) Most likely because he hasn't been online recently and like what you said you just wasn't able to get to know him since you havn't been playing this game for a long time.

2.) You can't really say they have a "sad life" unless you are Franky or one of the mods for the day and you experience what they do every day.

    hmm tough dicistion ...

I like Fuzzy and his 3rd person speech mannerism but, I like Kritty's sig.

Personally I am somewhat anti social and so cannot speak about who said is better.

I will be going for Fuzzy only because he is a representive of RT.

Also personally never seen Kris myself so have to sidestep her/him. :\

I guess Fuzzy gets the default win because the forum is full of idiots.

Come on, you and I and every sane person who actually walks around on these forums already knew this.

Fuzzy is winning because he's a Hamsta gimmick that speaks in third person and because holy **** look he's on RT, meaning everybody on RT just votes for him out of principle. Most people voting haven't stopped to wonder if they'd be a good mod or not.

Fuzzy's posts tend to make a lot of sense, but the third person speak is annoying and really removes any sort of seriousness from any post he's ever made. I can't take a guy seriously if he can't refer to himself properly and use proper speech and grammar; I'm not about to sit and take a moderator who does that seriously.

In fact, in all frankness, I'd treat Shelly and Grim with more seriousness and respect then Fuzzy would ever see from me, all because he doesn't possess the ability to actually post properly, because he thinks it's 1337 to be a Hamsta gimmick.
