i got a better idea. "No Noob Server" meaning you have to take a quiz in order to participate. questions that people who have only played one class, only played for a week, or just plain don't learn from people or mistakes can't join. that way when you get into a party, you only have to worry about thieves, and not some idiot killing your entire party because he wants to be a movie star

Nowitsawn - Heavens Tear

Hard mode:

1. No BH, rest is still present.

2. Instead of packs you can buy 15 tokens directly for 1 gold (no best tokens)

3. Tideborn chain gives same exp as regular quests.

4. Doesn't participate in 2x XP/drops events.

5. No crafting boxes in the boutique.

Impossible mode:

1. There exists only arcane armor, which has no stat req.

2. All types of damage are physical.

3. No charms.

4. No event potions.

5. Revive does not save EXP loss.

6. Failing a quest once deletes it permanently.

7. Everybody is perma red named.

8. No possibility of luring monsters.

9. NPC's do not sell shards.

10. TT/FF/FB's only accept 1 squad at a time.

11. Quests for bosses only give credit if you have damaged them for 50% of its health.

12. No minimap.

13. No autopath.

14. Losing a duel kills you.

15. Guards will always be after you.

16. You lose 20 chi/sec when out of combat.

17. Magic attacks rely on accuracy.

18. Tomes do not keep your pets fed.

19. Only a blacksmith in the lower left corner of the map can repair your gear.

20. Potions have a cooldown of 5 minutes.

**** mode:

1. Death = perm. IP ban

That should be a no, tokens=alot of stuff that make game too easy. Largely oracles, which also lead to unexperienced players. But also things like cheap gems, skill books, and a slew of other stuff.

And to those who say it wouldn't make money. I think your wrong. Not make as much money as other servers with packs, probably right. But to people who want to play the game so it has some challenge, I think it'd be good. and might lead to some more people supporting the game financially (like myself). There are still other things in the cashshop other then packs that people spend money on. Such as mounts, fashion, charms, makeover scrolls, reset notes, aerogear... the list goes on.

Maybe they should just make a hard server that is P2P. That way they can eliminate the cash shop itself in that server and just make all the items in it available through other in game means. Or just cut the prices in half on everything in it for a P2P server.

seriouslly, i think that on my 40s and def. on 50s i knew more about game mechanics that many clers i still meet today. Really, those seem just unable to do something simple like predict who gonna steal aggro or even suck at using and timing different heals on different toons.

And just did a WS BH for Snake and Cannon. lvl 100 EP has +1 99 weap, +2 90 green, no shards, vit build. lvl 57 quest ring, lvl 57 cape, other **** gear. Opened red bubble while I was hell sparking after I told them only to keep stacking me with iron. Was plume shotting WS mobs instead of healing half the time. 200k hp off my charm. b:bye

I guess that's not as bad as seeing 100ep's air to ground plume shot on heavies in TW. b:cryb:surrender

as i wrote under: i learned about aggro related stuff already on my 19lvl. then more about timing heals etc in squads on 20s, even more on 30s with melees in squad and magic mobs and and basics of survival in dungeon in infb29. though school in fb39 on 40s.
i was learning to the point at 50s where i knew like 80% about aggro, heals i know today.

later was just improving game play and learning useful tricks.

on low 60s i was already able to do 1-2 in smalest teams as soon i was able to survvie bosses aoe long enough... we didt die there, no wipe outs - just play :P

and imo that is 'natural' way to level your toon. people who avoided squading on low levels **** their toon progress FTL of their future squad mates =P

lolz, problem is that it is just too easy now. If ur barb or cler then there is just little need to learn anything, and if DD then - zero- u just follow.

Umm... if you always avoided the call to help when someone had tabs? Sure.

Back before BH, people were constantly asking for FB help, many people used to spam world chat offering to help as well.

I guarantee you that nearly all of the lower FBs I did as I was leveling were way harder than the wined BH + instance blessings many of the newer players grew up on.

I was running fb19 when I was about lvl 24. FB29 in my late 3x, and 39 when I was low 4x. Running FBs is a lot harder than running a BH. BH's almost always skip mobs or is short of full FB runs, the experience you get from the former is usually much more than the latter, especially when you have to make sure all quest mobs are completed.

A good squad can easily mask the mistakes of a bad member, but the term "the weakest link" isn't a lie. Maybe you can't tell the difference in a squad, I can. Usually after the first few minutes of observation.

It would still be possible for someone to have "a bad day" or "a fail day", which would ruin everything. Often the people who do that are considered as noob by the rest of the squad and the squad members, who haven't been in the dungeon with this poor person before will not go in the dungeon with him/her again. I think most of the "idiots" that you mentioned are people who just failed this once or a few times out of 20+ runs to the dungeon.

(Off topic:) I hate when this happens to me or my friends Like if I let one person die because I'm tired, he instantly says that I'm a noob. Seriously.. would you abandon your favourit band if one of their conserts was a disaster?

However I think that the hard server would be good idea. It would get rid of the unfairness caused by packs, hypers and all that CS stuff.

Myself, a barb I know, and a cleric who are all older players and know how to do things quite well tend to squad regularly. We wind up taking ourselves to our limits an very rarely do we ever **** up, even when we're all half asleep.

One day, me and the cleric weren't on and the barb felt bored, so he joined a random BH squad to tank for them.


About five minutes in, he got booted for "being suicidal" even though he was doing less than he normally did with just me and the one cleric.


Now tell me how a full squad of high leveled players can't tell the difference between someone who's supposedly suicidal and someone who just knows damn well what they're doing and happen to be good at it? All the time, people I meet in random squads call me out for being suicidal, reckless, etc... and yet the good players I know simply compliment me on how well I play whichever character I'm on at the moment.


Funny thing is, before this game turned into EZmode where everybody was too afraid of breaking outside the norm, I wasn't really called out as being reckless. If I asked a squad to humor me, they normally would. If we had an "oh ****" moment and I did something that seemed unexpected, they tended to be able to figure it out relatively quickly and act accordingly. Now when there's an "oh ****" moment, I tend to be the only person left standing when randoms are involved. Especially funny are times when I'm told I can't do something and then I proceed to do exactly what I was told I couldn't do. Oh and there's the joy of playing a low level alt with some higher level of the same class in squad, being told by the higher level (who, most of the time, has worse gear) that I'm too low a level to do something and they'd do it instead, and the sweet satisfaction of watching them die in their attempt before taking over and succeeding where they fail.


Of course, if this were the old days, that wouldn't happen because level was, at the time, a very good indicator of skill and experience. Now it's just a number beside your head.

Yeah, exactly. The shock and horror when I told a random squad that I was going to tank Snakefist and Cannonfist... that you didn't need an archer to glitch the boss, that it was easier and faster having the whole squad DD it... Of course they didn't believe me. They were pretty amazed at how fast it actually died... and then at Cannon, they said they ran when the mobs spawned... I just lol'd and told them to kill the mobs and then continue tanking the boss... so many /facepalm moments in one BH filled with bh hyper noobs, I swear. And they probably all thought they were pretty good or knew how to play their classes, but they were pretty much inexperienced 10x. Just a meaningless number is all.

Archers...have tanked both of those for warsong BH as well, and we didnt even know you could glitch the boss. I have witnessed Asterelle tanking those quite often a few months back when she did BH100. (don't ask why i tag along to those things)

Yeah, well most typical parties looking to do WS Snakefist end up glitching the boss. It's just not necessary because the boss is so easy to kill in the first place. They wanted to glitch it and were horrified saying how they'd get one-shot and the party would wipe. I just told them to BB and it won't even tick anyone's charms. *shrug*
