I dont think this is an issue above i dunno lvl 50 or so.

Really only very low lvl players that loves to run around and buff random people. Kinda how lowbie venos puts bramble on everyone they see.

Normally clerics are tired of random people whispering them asking for buff/heals/help so they wont do anything even if you actually ask nicely or is about to die lolz. I personally cant be bothered healing every random player i see thats about to get killed by a mob.

Most clerics will ignore 90% of the player population in need of a cleric, so its really more of the other way around.

thats not really always the case, i spent like an hour flying around heaven today picking herbs/mats and buffing everyone i passed by.. which is normal for me. I have gone and camped flag hill before for hours just buffing/healing everyone because I had nothing better to do at the time. I cast res on every dead person I see, even when busy i am scanning around me for people who might need help. I tend to be more alert when i see someone in HA fighting mag mobs or arcane fighting phys mobs

as far as OP goes.. I dont ask, i do watch what buffs someone already has. i have only had one person get angry about help given and it was some lvl 30ish cleric running around unbuffed. who yelled at me in all caps "I CAN DO THAT MYSELF" to which i told em alright you can overwrite it with your own low level buffs i dont care b:surrender
MOST people are thankful for help, veno's sometimes return the favor with bramble which when i am solo i dont mind at all. And even if i did i would still thank them because they were just showing they were thanking me for buffs and returning the favor. Sometimes bm/barbs will offer to squad for thier buffs, wizards will return the favor with thier own, albeit slightly useless, water buff. I have never had an archer offer to squad but I dont see where thier buff would be highly useful to a cleric anyways.

That is when they even see who buffed them at all b:chuckle

I have a lvl 80 cleric myself, with all her buffs maxed, and as I am sometimes in a good mood, I help lower level people who aren't buffed yet. I always check before I do so, because I know they might be using a powder that gives 50 HP in 1 sec or so and my buffs would be useless compared to that. Usually I never help anyone unless they ask me to. But I don't think anyone should ever ask if another person wants a revive, even a res at level 3 would be ok for me, because then I didn't have to go to town. I've heard some people say that clerics shouldn't res when they don't have the skill maxed, but I find that just stupid. How many clerics are there who have it maxed anyway? And what's the chance of meeting one in a place where you mostly find people under level 40, for instance?
But it really annoys me too when some cleric comes and overbuffs me with level 4 buffs, when I had level 10 buffs before. Never rebuff someone unless you have top level skills! And with my veno, I never bramble anyone unless they ask for it. I haven't even levelled the skill over lvl3 as I don't need it myself (I never learn skills I don't use, I'm a solo person not a buffer, get used to that). Personally, I don't see why some venos go around brambling people like other venos, clerics and wizzies? They don't really need it, and the green circle around me is really annoying to be honest.

So the point of my story is, if you want to help others, max your skills first or ask before if they want to be helped.

I'm one of the people in teh majority here. The amount of times I've been running around grinding/questing and then suddenly realising that I've been buffed, makes me smile. Regardless of wether or not I wanted the buffs I'm greatful that someone was considerate enough to buff me in the first place. Buffs chew up Clerics MP like there's no tomrrow costing them pots etc but they still did it anyway. That's kindness right there.

I also agree with Bosks' original post: If you are in the minority then you are the one who needs to do the thinking etc

As many have already said it's mainly lower level Clerics who randomly buff. Think of it this way: Child at christmas with a new toy. Toy goes everywhere with the child, child shows everyone the new toy = Person rolls a Cleric. Cleric gets a new buff, Cleric buffs people wherever they go.

As for bramble, I admit I was like my above description "ooooo it reflects damage. that should be helpful for everyone!! :D" soon realising it held hate and I stopped buffing everyone I ran past, unless I was asked for buffs (though randomly buffing cat shops keeps me amused when I'm bored b:thanks )

I read your post (tl;dr to read 11+ pages..) and I think, no offense, that you are out of your mind. b:bye

If I had to choose between ressing/healing someone and asking him if I am ALLOWED to do that without him/her getting offended, I'd go for not doing anything at all. I don't really see why someone would want to loose 2% exp and I neither can't imagine a situation where you don't want buffs or heals ( except duel ofc, heals are pretty lame there ), but who heals people in towns anyways, lol. Please tell me a situation where you don't want to get ressed or buffed.. You can also cancel the buffs by relogging if you are in such a situation where you don't want them.

Please don't think that the clerics who buff, heal and ress others are selfish, how on earth they could be? They think that they're helping, you can't be selfish if you meant to help the poor guy who has agroed 3 mobs and needs healing.. b:angry

For most of us, overriding buffs is the only real problem. If I'm in a dangerous enough area to use +HP powder, FI, I'm generally paranoid about a cleric flying by, because extra of everything else (all at low skill levels, of course) will not make up for bringing that down to single digits.

If I've got +MP going on, it's annoying, because I do use MP faster than it normally regens, when I'm grinding.

Otherwise, it's all good; and, if I'm far enough from a town to wait for a cleric, I can grind back XP.

lol i'm kinda busy atm haven't bothered to read all this but i DID read your post in the other thread. I have a 70 archer. I've leveled Apoth to 4 for Flourish orbs (FIFTY hp/mp a tic when not engaged). Until i did that i usually hit a mob with a couple skills, do Plume Shell (it'll regen more MP thne it uses), then spam bolts. By the time plume shell was about rdy and i hit another mob mp was back to full. But that was slow.....

NOW I use the meds, I have two DIFFERENT combos i SPAM, i NEVER stop at all when i grind. Even if i'm hitting so fast that my face dont' stop blinking (the recovery buffs dont' kick in if you're engaged) to regen the mp/hp in a few secs between mobs, i can rest to full in like 10 secs.

With that said.... i don't mind clerics healing me or rez'ign me of course.... but damn LOOK at the person and see if they have buffs before you go to buff them. Your weak **** lvl 10 buff only does 10 HP/mp a tic lmao... and it overwrites the flourish orbs.. :/ Every time I get buffed and it wastes my orb that's 20 fleece root and 15 tuckahoe i went to get that got wasted. Then i gotta log out, log back in, spam Wings of protection to get some chi back, buff back up.... when all u had to do was look.
