My Own "Solve The Riddle"...

1) Still figuring that one out, will do it later as I do my WQ.
2) I know the answer to this one, so I'll let you guys guessing on this one.
3) This one I don't know, but I'm gonna shoot and say that the question the man asked was "What is the question you don't know the answer to?"0 -
Vixe, by all means, pm me the answer to 2 so I can check it ;3
And for 3, that's wrong. Because he doesn't have an answer for that. He simply doesn't know that one because it's impossible to answer - he knows everything, there is no question he doesn't know. Technically, he could answer "none" and be correct. I'm looking for a question to which he knows the answer, yet he can't say it.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
1) not posting cause you said not to.
2) he's short and can't reach the higher buttons without his umbrella to push them.
3) What is the sound of silence?[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
2 is correct.
3 is a good guess, but no. The answer to that question IS in fact saying nothing. However, the wise man will add, after ten seconds of silence, "that was it." Thereby correctly answering the question while not remaining silent entirely.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
"Can I ask you a question?" Because he can only answer one question per person and he knows that was not the question the person wanted to ask.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
Then the answer is simply no...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
"What am I thinking now?" Technically, the wise man would know what the answer to that question would be, but if the person asking the question were to continually change what they were thinking, technically the wise man would be unable to answer because once he answers, the person would be thinking of something else, thus making the answer wrong. If that were the case, then yes the wise man would know the answer, but he can't say anything because if he says something it'd be too late because the person would've changed his mind and made the answer incorrect. =O
Does that make any sense at all?? Oh, and Poison got the answer to number 2 that I was thinking of lol0 -
Let's say the man's thoughts while he's asking the question are "I like puppies" but it's changed to "I don't like birds" while the wise man answers. The wise man would answer "I don't like birds" because he knew that's what the man would be thinking while he's answering. So he'd still be right.
Also, on that question, the "now" means he could also answer whatever the man thought while he said the word 'now', and be correct, but I'm assuming that's not what you meant.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
the answer to #1 is either what or a real word? dunno, guessing based on ast experiences with riddles :ppOne corn to rule them all and in the darkness cream them

3) There is a wise man who can answer any question, but only one question per person. Assume he truly knows everything, even things that should be unanswerable like "how big is the universe". One day, however, a man comes up and asks a question, and the wise man remains silent. He knew the answer, but was unable to say it. What was the question?
He can only answer one question per person. The man who asks a question had asked one previously. Since this the second time, the wise man cannot answer. So it does not matter what the question is.
Or, if this is the first time, the question could be "What will your answer be when I ask you a second question?"0 -
Ehh... I guess that first one is possible. It's not what I had in mind though. Nice one xD Would still be awesome if someone found the answer I'm looking for, which is actually pretty simple o_O I'm surprised it's taking so long.
Oh, and for your second solution, he could just answer "None".[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
"Are you choking?" He would know the answer is yes, but is unable to say it because he's choking.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
-
"What is the name of the current leader of the alien species that has no vocal or audio sensory organs that communicates telepathatically and currently has no aural designation by other sentient beings?"0

O.o....
The eff.....0 -
Then he'd still be able to answer it...Somehow. =P You're just being stupid now.
And for are you choking, he'd just say no...[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

Oh wait, that doesn't work.
"I name that leader Blah. The leader's name is now Blah."
Hmm....
EDIT: Booo.. you called me stupid =(0 -
By the way, the first of my three riddles on page 43 hasn't been solved yet either.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

By the way, the first of my three riddles on page 43 hasn't been solved yet either.
I heard that one before, but never solved it. So I did a web search; I was unhappy with the answer.
"What is the thought that, if you were to actually think it, would cause you to remain silent and unable to verbally answer my question?"0 -

"What is the thought that, if you were to actually think it, would cause you to remain silent and unable to verbally answer my question?"
Feel free to give up as well Elena, then I'll provide the answer I was looking for.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
"There is no such thing" is the answer to that.
Feel free to give up as well Elena, then I'll provide the answer I was looking for.
I'm willing to give up.
I was trying to find some way to get the wise man to enter an infinite recursive loop, but I could not think of a good one.
Ah well, I'll take the my partial credit.0 -

No Poison, lol.
The question was just simply "Will you answer 'no' to this question?"
The correct answer can be thought, as that doesn't count as answering. However, if he says it out loud, he's always lying.
One riddle left on page 43, the first one ;3[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -

I thought of that. He can reply with "I will not." or "I shall not."0 -
...Fine. Then make it "Will your answer to this question be negative?"
>_> I figured someone would prove me wrong so I had this prepared.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0 -
Wouldn't "maybe" work for that though since it signifies uncertainty and could go either way be just as negative as positive? b:chuckle (hey, you dissected our answers, we can do the same to yours. b:laugh )[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0

>_> I figured someone would prove me wrong so I had this prepared.
The riddle stated that he has the answer in his mind, but is unable to say it. In that case, what's the answer that is in his mind? It is one thing to have an unanswerable question (which is what you suggested), but it is another thing to have a question that can be answered mentally but not verbally.
Sorry, I guess I'm not good with these types of riddles. I was looking too closely at the wording in order to find a loophole.0 -
Nope, that wouldn't be a precise answer, and the wise man is always precise in his answers.
As for the answer he's thinking, it's "No, it will not be negative." This is correct. The answer is not negative, but it's not positive either. There is no answer he can say, but as long as he's just thinking it, it's correct.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]0
