Personally, I think the GMs should set the gold prices at 1k per gold. That way everyone lvl 10 and under can have everything they want.
Wait that's too expensive. . . let's start a movement to get gold prices set to 100 coins each![SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

Excuse me.
Never once said freeguys are worse at life.
What i'm trying to say is, what u mentioned in your post...."great buisness for pwe"
Thats where it ends. The whole debate, The attempts to bring gold down, the gm bashin, it all ends and is answered by that one simple statement.
"It's great buisness for pwe".
Any online gaming company that has the good old" we have our gamer's interest at heart first and foremost"
Is just trying to be nice like the good old icecream man.
Believe me....... if the gms/managers/ could tell u to your face what they actually think......
It wouldn't pretty. No need for quotes anymore. Lost City's eyes are wide open now. Thank god!b:victory0 -

Show us where you got your information and how you can explain that?
Showing lots of new items is good to attract new players.
Having sales is good to atttract new PAYING players, and keep current paying ones.
Higher gold prices encourage people to buy more gold by charging.
The welfare of the PAYING customers is doing great, if you have not noticed.

Your "drift" has drifted out of reality.
K let me simply the buisness as low as i can.
Icream guy is giving out free icecream.
Everyone flocks to get their free ice cream.
Icream guy has to earn money to live.
So.......
IG: "hey if u pay me 2$ i'll give u candy sprinkles on ya ice cream"
Guy with money: $2 for spinkles????GTFO!!!
IG: "okok how bout sprinkles and chocolate sauce?"
Guy with money: "Tempting, but still not worth it i feel"
IG: "Ok fine, u pay me $4, i give u sprinkles, chocolate syrup, a double scoop, nuts, and a coupon for 50% off on ya next icecream purchase"
Guy with money: "Deal!"
Guys still eating icecream for free: "wtf?? he pays and he gets all that?? i want it too! but i still want it free!"
IG: (trying to be nice) Ok guys i can't give u all that for free, but uc an go home and add ya stuff yourselves"
Freeguys: "But that will take time and extra effort on my part"
IG: "Umm yeah i guess, if u don't wanna pay, thats how it gotta be"
Freeguys: "fark u ice cream guy, u suck blah blah blah QQ"
IG: ( turns a deaf ear and carries on buisness)
THE END.
Anyone can make up a silly analogy...
Ice cream guy; Hey dude, i'm opening a new parlor and since it's a bit empty and my customers enjoy a place full of people, what say you come over have some fun, and i'll get you some free ice cream for your trouble.
Freeguy; Sounds cool, thank you.
IG; Just sit in the back and i hope you don't mind waiting after i'm done serving the paying customers first.
FG; Sure, i don't mind, this is a business you're running.
IG; Actually, would you mind standing on a corner, the 8 year old kid of a customer wants a table all to himself.
FG; I guess it's ok...
IG; I know i said i'd give you ice cream, but since it seems to be in demand i think i'll save it for the customers. You can have pudding instead.
FG; I don't really like pudding...
IG; Nonsense, actually i think you can sit down, cute blonde on the corner thinks you're kinda cute and it would help me out if you go talk to her.
FG; I think that's a dude.
IG; Well, it's either her or the guy with the handlebar moustache... and after you're done could you clean the table on the back, i think that kid had too much ice cream.
FG; I don't work for you man.
IG; You really are ungrateful, i'm giving you free pudding.
FG; I wanted ice cream!
yea, never look a gift horse in the mouth...0 -
i dont think hes complaining about the sales, it's about the items once again. items that were supposed to take a long time and that people have already started working towards. you can make money, release sales, you don't have to destroy people's sense of accomplishment in the game. i know it's kind of funny, needing a sense of accomplishment in a game, but it's true for some people. you think it's fun grinding 10m for a sky demon's only to have it worth like 3m in a week due to adjustments to chip costs? you think it's fun to run lunar for months only to have people win the item overnight? and don't forget about the dq mounts, etc etc etc. i mean, there were examples of devs disregard for players' time well before the anniversary event. i guess it can be partially mitigated by announcing stuff like this in more detail before updates but meh.
and malator is one of the richest players on the server (well *was* before more people started pouring money into the game), and probably could benefit the **** out of this event if he chooses to, but it's not really about that, and a lot of his friends left too.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

Yes, but why the QQ? SO now there is options for ppl who refuse to pay, to sepnd all their time and lives farming.
And theres the option for people who don't mind paying to just buy it.
So whats the problem?
1 loses time but not money.
1 loses money but not time.
Both ways are individual choices.
So whats the fuss all about?
Why is there so many threads trying to justify one and bash another? No need for quotes anymore. Lost City's eyes are wide open now. Thank god!b:victory0 -
^^Because, I guess, there are plenty of situations in real life where people can get ahead with money--in fact, having money helps in almost any case.
I don't know about others, but I saw this fictional game as an environment where time and dedication were valued over money. It was fun seeing hard work being paid off and recognised among others. The game was separate from the outside world [for the most part].
Now, "real life" is influencing the game far too much, I'm guessing people think. Having rl money suddenly gets you some pretty kickass stuff, whereas before, it could only help you with buying the tools that would help you get the gears [charms, esos, angels etc]. Since I believed that playing the game [time+effort] rather than buying the game [or game items] was the whole objective, it seems a little...meh...like the wrong things are being rewarded.
Don't get me wrong, it's great if you have a salary and want to pay for cs stuff; I don't really have a problem with gold right now because I believe in the player controlled economy. And I understand people who work have less time to play normally. All the same, game rewards should be rewards based on playing, right?
As a note, I haven't really been ripped off with any of the items recently put in cs and I'm too low to benefit from the lunar stuff--I'm sure by the time I reach 95 there will be better stuff out there with the expansion, so I'm not saying this out of anger--just some disappointment in the system.0 -

it's not so simple as that. if it were this way one would be able to accept it, but it's not so predictable. you can lose money and time buying charms and running lunar/frost completely not knowing they were just going to have a lottery for them during the anniversary month. (also, frost changes). you can lose time getting dq mounts because there wasn't a way to buy it in boutique before, then see that time wasted when they release the dq mounts in boutique. also, who the hell expected sky demon's pearl and misty forest rings to suddenly get so cheap in chip costs? i know changes do and will happen, but they need to take some of these more sensitive changes into account more. again, i submit that such changes need to be revealed to us long before updates. it should not be one side bashing the other because these changes affected everyone involved.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

Yes, but why the QQ?
The QQ is normal. They got used to getting something relatively easy, and now that something has been taken away from them. When you take something away from players, you cant expect them to be happy.
It does not matter if its right or wrong, it does not matter if the gold is necessary or not, bottom line is they had something before and now they dont, so obviously its going to be a lot of complaining about it.
Personally im waiting for the day when people will realise there is no such thing as a free lunch...i mean a free game b:chuckle
Seriously now, ALL cash shop games are just poor excuses for a game and major rip offs.
Wake up!0 -
Now let's imagine that GMs CAN really control ingame prices (which they cant ofcs - but not everyone understand that or just dont want to understand). Later ppl will be screaming like "GMs make HH mats prices lower - i want my GX or w/e cost only 2kk" or smth like "GMs, make daily quests double xp!!!!"...oh ffs, just dont buy the damn gold if u cant afford it. Whenever there is a demand of gold - there always be a supply for it. So right know, when some ppl just QQ on forum about the big prices, other players are buying that gold for 400k+. When ppl will stop buying high - the prices will get lower. It would be stupid to sell gold for 100k when ppl still buy it at 400k..0
-
I don't see the reason for all the flames, debates, and arguments here. Lets face it, 200k or so per gold would be nice. As seen from the economy during jj event (220k+ gold), then the economy a few weeks after (down to 170k gold) and the current economy after the anniversary pack sale (up to 420k+ gold), it's rather obvious the devs can somewhat influence the gold pricing through items and sales offered.
Before and after the jj event we were being spammed with sales which must have been making pwi a substantial profit and while gold did rise, it maintained at 170k per. The cube boxes had a heavy influence on this.
Greed is human nature. The best way to control it somewhat is not to appeal to it. If the devs throw out sales and items there will be moderate inflation and they will make a good profit but nothing gets out of hand and the game is kept running.
However, chucking the rarest items in the game at us in extremely cheap events if just throwing things out of proportion.
200k gold would be nice, wouldn't it? Good money for gold sellers while affordable for free players if they grind enough. Everyones happy. Can't we just stop and say, yeh sounds good. Do we have to have the arguments0 -

Anyway, i agree. 200-250k would be the balanced gold price in every case.0 -

You know, the people who argue against putting the Lunar gear in the Anniversary packs seem to have about three arguments.
First one being that it pushes the gold prices up. Well, there isn't any sale that wouldn't do that, so let's stop right here.
Second being them being overpowered and ruining PvP. Well, of course they are overpowered, they are at the higher end of the end game. The real issue, however, is that people are getting this end of the endgame gear while they're still not at the endgame levels, some by far, some by little. Of course, these people are more likely to sell these items for however many millions of ingame coin they see as a proper price, as they will not be using them right now or any time soon. Well, what this does is it gives an edge to those who have lots of ingame coins.
The third being that they ruin the sense of accomplishment for anyone who got Lunars the other way or was planning to do so. Well, you know, even if the game originally is Asian and therefore is a major grindfest, especially towards the endgame, it's now marketed in the West, mostly for Americans. Well, you know, the games in the West are a bit different, people like being overpowering and want to do it without any hellish experiences. Well, the Anniversary packs make these people very happy. Or maybe not, if they think it's too easy, but then they'll just sell those items and keep on complaining about the Lunars. If you disregard what I say because of who I am or because of the contents of what I said, you are a fool.
Everyone wants to be different, but when you're different you wish you were normal.0 -
I'd not just 'ignore' it because 'all sales do that'.
They do, yes. There's been a constant inflation in game gold price, driven by it.
These packs caused the price of gold to double overnight.
That's a bit more than 'any old sale'. It's a lot more.0 -
Gold prices are too high, I mean 100k an hour from grinding for a level 70-85 or whatever and its 400k+ for 1 gold. It's ridiculous, how can we afford anything unless we spend real $$.
The only ones who are benefiting from this are the hardcore cash shoppers.
And the people who say they are not to high are naive.b:bye
Edit** I vote for 200k. That is still expensive compared to the old prices, but I ain't a shallow minded kinda guy. :P*************************************

I also think some players are taking things way too seriously, the game is supposed to be fun, you should not think about your playtime as time wasted/invested or as "hard work", and if you do, then something is wrong.
Some people spend a lot of time and effort (and money in some cases) to "achieve" things in a game, when the only real achievement you can get out of a game is the fun you had playing it.0 -

Olba made a very good post and he had very good points, nothing to do with wanting to be overpowered "without playing the game". Its more about the amount of grinding that western players are willing to invest as opposed to asian gamers.
I know that it doesnt seem fair when some people can get those great items with less effort than you, but even so you have no reason to be upset, first because you had those items long before them, and second because new and better items are on the way and you will be the first ones to get those too, so its not like your "hard work" goes unrewarded.
I also think some players are taking things way too seriously, the game is supposed to be fun, you should not think about your playtime as time wasted/invested or as "hard work", and if you do, then something is wrong.

you seem to be missing something here. people might not have run the damn instances for months if they knew stuff like this was going to happen. that is why i keep saying the release had total disregard for people's time. they could've spent that time doing something else. it's about time and money utterly wasted because they're never specific about these changes beforehand and because they'd make changes like these.
and in this game there are things that are "hard work", you do it so that you may have something that you want. it's not necessarily fun to grind for 5 hours, but it is nice when you can buy a 10m mold afterwards; then of course, a day later after mainte night you get ****ed over by chip prices and now said mold is now worth 3m. you get it? once again, you think someone would've grinded for 5 hours if they knew devs would make that arbitrary change? people don't like seeing their time put into the game just rendered worthless like that.Elena Costel: I wash my hands of this affair.

I understand your point, and to a certain extent i agree with you.
Its just that i see these things in a different way, if i "worked hard" in the game to get something, once i got it, i wouldnt care if other players could get the same thing easier, but thats just me, i understand that people feel differently about things.
Also think about when you buy that pricey videocard and 2 weeks later its reduced to half price because something better is coming out that will cost cheaper than what you already got :P...its the same thing in the game.0 -
