Nobody uses "WF" or "Heiro"
However, you will be hearing plenty of "HH" "Dolls" "CV" "FB" and the occasional "ADC".

I look forward to the culture clash a bit more now <.< not only will PvErs and PvPers be smushed together awkwardly like a teenager sitting at the adult table between 2 creepy uncles at thanksgiving, but 2 languages will also be competing for dominance, AND 2 different economical expectations, for all you PWIeconomists.

I can't answer as to what ADC is because I only know that term in the sense of playing a certain popular MOBA title. CV is Lunar. As to the news, I am partially conflicted since I loved Sanctuary for the name too, aside from it being the server I was invited to by a dear friend, years ago, so we could play together. But I'm a nostalgic sap so got to hold on to the memory and adjust to change!
Think an incoming character name change Stone Sale should be in order. Just saying, not a lot of people will be happy to wake up with some annoying initials next to their name. o_o
Not to say I think they'd deserve a free, non-tradeable one just in case for the inconvenience.
Also, people should screenshot everything they own for backup and reference. Expect the worst, hope for the best.

no you are not the ony one concerned. What happens to our Items in our bank/cupboard/wardrobe and stash accounts. what happens to any coins we have other than in our inventory? My concern comes from previous srever merge loss. I hope it doesn't happen again...i have a lot in this game.Am I the only one concerned about the integrity of my account considering PWI's track record?

Wow! Just...WoW!!!!! PWI staff is doing something that people expected for a long time....and wow again! They don't miss this oportunity to get people to be frustrated.
In my opinion this merge is not a bad thing...but the way it is performed sux because:
1) People chose PVP servers for a reason...and that reason is obvious;
2) People chose EU/US servers based on their skeduale...so they can adapt their playing time.
Now I saw that little line where it sais that pvp lovers can turn on pk mode but what happens to those who simply want to kill some1 who steals their mobs/world boss? Also i quite well enjoyed "hunting" for players from enemy factions. If they are protected how can i hunt? No offense to pwi devs or staff but this game doesn't exactly shine at the pve chapter comparing to most games. That is why, as far as I know, many people play it either because they invested a lot of cash/time in the game or simply because they love to pvp. By taking away the freedom to pvp whoever we choose regardless of his/her aproval this game will indeed have a less offensive society...but also less numerous.
I surely hope that something will be done about this conversion of freedom into restriction (my personal way of seeing things) because I personally do not like to play on a server where I can't simply attack whoever i choose.
Also merging an european server with an US one needs no commenting.0 -
I still can't understand, why don't they merge Lost City with Harshlands and leave it pvp. They **** time zones for many players anyway, but this way it would be less painful, both USA, both can adapt somehow. Is it still reconsiderable by any chance?

Everyone who made dupes of their names on other servers need to delete their spare chars today and they won't be effected, probably. Don't dilly-dally.

Interesting atitude but I doubt u can change anything. People from LC will still use their own abreviations for a while...after that I guess that everyone will use the shortest ones because ppl are lazy when it comes to writing.

@Everyone who says he (we?) are wrong: probably we created our characters back when EU server where not a thing and we had to choose either way when we wanted to enjoy PWI.
after several years as EU player on an US server i can FINALLY give ALL THE GOOD ADVICES (/sarcasm) back to every US person out there:
- "if u dont like the event times go switch to a different server and start over, it's not that hard to get the stuff u got here over there"
- "it's not that bad to get up at 5am for tw/nw/rw/..."
- "if u dont like it either deal with it or either quit or restart somewhere else"

It's the malaysian name not the 'original'. The malaysian version is just one of a dozen of licensed versions. PWE on the other hand is a direct subsidiary of the chinese so PWI is more 'original' than the malaysian version.0 -

So harshlands is going to EU times? What is this? **** Germany?
PWE has essentially killed all events from monday-friday for most of the people currently on Harshlands now. Oh but wait, we get awesome cross server events.....which people wont be able to attend because they are using European time.
I have to give it to you PWE, just when I think you couldnt mess something up more, you come back and kick the players in the groin with steel toe shoes.

We harshlands players created our characters on a U.S. server because we live in the U.S.......We did'nt expect our server to be moved into a EU time zone...You EU players that created accounts on U.S. servers did so knowingly that you would be dealing with odd event times and bad ping. Big difference there.
So to rub it in our faces about "dealing with it quit or move servers" is completely flawed logic and just plain wrong.0 -

Oh My God, the rage on Harshlands is so OP. We are being made a EU server so all the events are at times that 90% of the server are unable to participate due to work or other reasons. I know many people who are quitting pwi if this merge goes threw with the EU server time events. PVE i can deal with although i will be living in PVP mode, because i picked a PVP server for a damn reason!
I hope they do something about the event times because i do not want to lose so many friends due to pwe freaking over a whole server full of people and if i lose all my friends in pwi then I will get no enjoyment from the game any longer.

Never the less, the very first english version of perfect world named the city Ancient Dragon City, and the lore surrounding the city takes that name to heart.

Lol Lost City players won't even be able to say the name of their own server.
Well it looks like both pvp servers got screwed (Harshlands due to EU times, LC players going to ragequit when they see Sanctuary prices). But I'm kind of excited for this change and it's going to be interesting to say the least.0 -
I think more Sanctuary will rage more when the pure pvp sin diety start to own there ****.
Price inflation was always expected whit time, yet again, china cut all income from mobs, and PW finds a way to make player spend more real money.

But Harshland is pretty much getting fcked over by turning into an EU server. Honestly I think PWI should consider NOT to do this... Those people picked an east cost server for a reason. You cannot just put them in a EU timezone... It would be highly unfair towards Harshlands. At least that's my point of view, and I am not from Harshlands, so I cannot judge how the people there perceive this issue. I do however live in an EU timezone myself, but I wouldn't be happy with changing server times to EU if this was happening to HT..0 -

It's kind of a pointless to merge Morai and Harshlands. Morai has a very active population and does'nt need more players. Harshlands should just be merged with one of the other U.S. servers. High ping and odd tw times are going to put harshlands natives at a very big disadvantage against the morai natives.0 -

Not only a disadvantage, but I have a feeling many would start to be inactive as well, considering the amount of bored people there already are. I fully agree that Harshlands should have been merged with another US server. Morai already has been merged in the past.0 -
This is, without a doubt, the worst thing pwi has done to players to date. Part of the appeal of pwi was the open world pvp which players who have chosen pvp servers can engage in. I know I am not alone when I say that I chose a pvp server for this reason. Pve servers offer pvp, true, when a player has chosen to enable it for themselves, but there is nothing stopping a player from remaining "pve-flagged" forever. Forcing Pvp server players to merge with a pve server, and abide by pve-server style mechanics is a slap in the face to those that have loyally played perfect world for years.
I am a harshlands player, and chose this server for the simple reason of living on the east coast. Server times for events, resets, and everything else coincide with my work/sleep schedule perfectly. Now I am going to be forced to play on a European server, on European time? Congratulations pwi, I can no long attend any events, including territory wars. Being that this is the case, I no longer have a reason to gear up my character, to farm, or spend money, to improve. Playing this game is now going to be impossible for me. I am so happy that I have remained loyal to this game for so many years. /sarcasm.
How the decisions were made as to which server would merge where, and for what time-frame, I shall never know, but it certainly was not from the players. A simple scroll through this post alone would give you many an idea on how a server merge could be accomplished in a way that does not, for lack of a better phrase, **** off your player base. merge the Pvp servers, for example, leave them pvp. Do not suddenly uproot an east coast server to EU times.
I am certainly no expert, but I was rather under the impression that pwi existed because of the support of its players, through advertising and cash shopping. I would think changing the base fundamentals of the game for two servers, and making the game practically unplayable for the majority of a server, would not be a good business decision.
Please re-examine this horrible venture you are about to embark upon.0 -

Well the burning thing for ME is that we EU players begged PWI to have humane event times for ONCE but all the people who had a good time for the events kept saying things like "well go make a character on eu server its there for a reason" or "when you dont like the times go play on eu server".
I choose harshlands for two reasons:
One: it was PvP and back then it made alot of sense to improve the fun on the server. nowadays i would choose PvE server anyday over PvP server (with the knowledge i have now ofc) because people ruined the fun on harshlands by just run by, oneshot you and move on. Yea PvP my **** just the high top players enjoy it and honestly? they will enjoy it just as good as before because they wanna fight eachother, they enable pvp mode.
I assume silverpool will be just as full (or not full w/e you pvp guys think of it) as before. no change.
Two: i had no other option then joining a server where the time is messed up anyways.
i had not so huge problems with it until they added so much stuff to the game that it became really annoying for EU people to keep on track.
TW, NW, RW, random events like smoke over archo and whatnot. you name it. the times for eu players? probably when you have to sleep when you need to get up early.
So yes i really want this change to come trough.
Also when they decide that it would be a "dickmove" to change the time for the poor pooooor east people, im happy anyways for more players on the server im playing on.
Cry on people, maybe they listen to you too (hope not but i really hope they pull out a poll or something so we could decide something for once hah)

You have some screwed up logic there pal. We people in the U.S. that play harshlands chose harshlands for two reasons. It's a pvp server and it's in the U.S. You're happy they are uprooting a U.S east coast server and making it EU? Well you can kiss alot of Harshlands players goodbye. Nobody wants to play with a 500+ ping and attend TW at 2am.
You signed up on harshlands knowing it was a U.S east coast time zone server and that you would be dealing with a higher ping and odd event times. East coast players signed up on harshlands without prior knowledge that their server would be turned into an EU server with unplayable time zones for them. See the difference?0
