I think this would be a great solution, but it may require some new tech. In the meantime, restricting need to items the character can equip will be a significant improvement over what we have now.
What about non-exploit auctions that had positive bids on them prior to the rollback? Will they be won? If the item instead gets returned to the character who put it up for bid, what happens to the AD that were bid?
The problem with lowering the cost of the cats is the fact that an almost identical companion (Ioun Stone of Allure) is for sale in the Zen Store. So discounting the Cat would be undercutting their cash shop.
I'm starting to think that the only option is an economy wipe. Not characters - just the economy. Here's how I'm imagining this would work: 1) Wipe all AD from all accounts. (Founders starting AD would be reset). 2) Wipe all Zen from all accounts. 3) Refund back to PWE accounts all Zen bought with real money and…

They definitely mean the cat bought for AD at the in-game vendor. It acts just like the ioun stone - augmenting your stats but not fighting itself. The stats are different, however.
Personally, I believe that the dragon is overtuned. I base this belief on several observations: 1) Not only is the dragon much harder than the end boss in the previous dungeon, but it seems to me that it is also much harder than the end boss of the next dungeon. Seriously, we downed Idris on our first attempt in a PUG with…
Doing the quest chain for your race and class culminates in a quest rewarding a blue cloak for each. You get notified of these quests via in-game mail.
It's the same as the one standing on the mount vendor podium in Protector's Enclave. (The one you can buy for far less than some of these folks have spent on keys.)
You think the ranger is bad? The long-advertised Holy Roller Paladin mount is, once summoned, quite clearly a llama with a mop head tied to its butt. You think they would have learned after the Holey Avenger fiasco.
The real issue here is that the priority queue system was called VIP in the Hero pack, but the icons next to both Hero and Guardian packs included an icon that read 'VIP'. As far as I can tell, this icon was actually referring to headstart. But anyone who read the hero pack description of 'VIP' could be forgiven for…
The days of a game 'server' being a single computer box are long gone. There are racks of servers driving each shard, and they can be expanded. Their last post on this mentioned an issue with firewalls. If the problem is network configuration, then further fragmentation could actually make things worse instead of better.…
The worst part about the red "Low HP" overlay is that it makes it harder to spot the red areas on the ground, exactly when you need to be most mindful of them.
This is going to become even more of an issue as additional controller classes are added. I would have expected all classes' powers with CC effects to still apply their debuffs and associated DOT's, but the bosses would simply ignore the CC aspect. In fact, in other games with CC-immune bosses, I've seen the damage…
The foundry already does this. Cryptic's other games already do this. Of course, how unreasonable to expect this MMO to let us do what every other MMO on the market lets us do. Besides, due to class-specific and race-specific quests, this won't work unless everyone in the group is the same race and class. We…
Also, the gateway underestimates the time remaining by 60 seconds. Start a ten minute task, with no assets that reduce time required. In Game: Interface displays 9 mins remaining (actually 9:59, but it does not display seconds until only a couple of minutes remain.) Gateway: Displays 9:00, ticks over immediately to 8:59,…
Also, the Gateway is underestimating the time remaining by a full minute. When you start a ten minute task in game, it immediately displays 9 minutes, which actually means 9 minutes 59.9 seconds remaining. The Gateway displays 9 minutes, then immediately ticks over to 8 minutes 59 seconds. So when the gateway says a task…
I'd be happy to replay at 60 so long as I could still get quest credit. Currently this does not appear to be the case. I don't care abut the drops or the chest. I do care about the story.
