  • My brother and I both received the 25 reroll tokens but my nephew's account didn't. It was also odd that when I first checked on my account at around 10:40am EST, it didn't show up, but when I checked again at 11am it was there.
  • I've noticed that a few types of these items can be traded in, but others can't. Some other old stuff got obsoleted as well, like "unlock slots for companions" tokens and various other items that got removed after companions/experience gain was changed in various modules.
  • As others have said, big chunks of IL now come from having upgraded companions and mounts. So you want to get 10 of each as high as you can, aim for at least purple/epic. Mount collars add a big chunk of IL but are expensive, maybe farm skirmishes hoping for some drops. You can get to 25k IL easily just by buying the green…
  • ZAX isn't broken. Base issue is accounts can fairly easily grind 3 million AD per month, but once your character is mostly developed you don't have a lot you need to spend that AD on. So people throw it on the ZAX and pile up Zen for the next big pack. There's way more people piling up AD who want Zen, and not many people…
  • There were definitely some issues that needed addressing in the game. How weak Charthraxis is compared to at-level characters in Neverdeath, how a max geared character can blow through all lower content at a dead run, how tricky it is to gear up properly for different situations etc. How to make a party of differing levels…
  • Your whole post is basically an apology/excuse for Cryptic making a mess of things. You also are looking at the whole game from apparently one perspective of one run on one character and saying "Oh wow that was hard and I died a lot so this is great and is really what they intended it's all good!". When in fact it's…
  • Cryptic's recent producers seem to have been on a drive since about mod 14 to make everything basically the same with little ability to differentiate your characters. Fewer build options, fewer path choices, less choice in gear, fewer options for companions. I think it was about Mod 15 or 16 that I wrote a reply with the…
  • Congratulations! Looking forward to seeing the lists of things you open next, since you've just popped the gateway chest to your newfound Neverwinter gambling habit! (Kidding!)
  • Items from Starlight Bags (the dropped bags) are bound. Items from Starlight Parcels (the Zen Market parcels) are unbound.
  • Agreed that BtA is a much better policy for Simril gift bags - it is supposed to be a reward after, all, not junk. Not getting duplicates would be nice but that's a ton of inventory checking to be doing. It's mostly only an issue with mounts or companions that you already have. My preferred solution would be that if you…
  • Cryptic seems to have a weird fascination with finding the most ridiculously complicated methods to "re-balance" things. I get that from time to time an MMO needs to shake up it's meta so people don't just reach a max point and sit there. Cryptic used to do this by introducing a new BIS or three, preserving most of your…
  • Cryptic is a business and needs cash flow to stay in business. They have no obligation to provide free gaming unless it benefits their business bottom line. That's not an "evil cash grab", that's just running your business like a sensible business. The ZAX is not there to provide AD-grinders with ways to get anything they…
  • Markets and services generally develop where the demand exists and makes it worthwhile. Either players are already in general getting the runs they need without paying (perhaps simply by joining a decent guild), or the mechanics of getting a couple carries together, then getting some customers lined up, then doing the run,…
  • Seems an odd thing to remove from the game, Staff of Savras campaign was always one of the most interesting parts of the startup process and a good intro to campaigns. I'm still surprised at how fitting the corporate name has proven to be over time.
  • Something else to consider with Ranger tanking is whether you are a melee(ish) ranger or an archer. If you prefer to stay at range, it's important to have a companion who gets in there fast and starts aggroing, both for aggro and for setting up combat advantage for your ranged attacks. Shield Maiden/Man at Arms and other…
  • Just as a matter of statistics, I wouldn't call one person trying to friend your sis and bashing over it "the player base". Every game is going to have thousands of players, and like every group of people in the world, 10% of those thousands are going to be jerks. Ignore is there for all standard nuisances, screenshot and…
  • Oh okay, gotcha. I misunderstood your original post. I thought you were trying to make points about the usefulness of recent changes, despite the fact that you don't play the class that faces the largest nerfs. Apparently, you just wanted to make a couple "I play good and you all play bad, haha, jokes on you!" posts. Carry…
  • Some basic errors in your OP: 1) You're talking from your own perspective as a tank, and exaggerating wildly the behaviours you mention. Maybe "just let your tank do everything" works for you, maybe you're a great tank. Maybe your teams behave the way you say they do ("99% always do X"). Your experience isn't the game…
  • Boxes will still drop their figurines, so get what you can each day until the event ends. If you hit 15, you're good, if not, buy some renown bags and save the *bags* (since if you open them for renown, that also evaporates).
  • Just as a note, the vendor sticks around for an extra week usually (unless they've changed that), and you can save up some bounties to open during that week, so you can pick up another 6-7 figurines that way.
  • Alphabet Soup: https://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Help:Acronyms/Abbreviations RTQ = Random Trial Queue, 18,000 IL to enter. REQ = Random Epic Queue, 20k IL TIC = The Infernal Citadel, 23k IL to cover some of the more common ones. Most are abbreviations of things you see in the K / Queue menu.
  • Despite how long I've played Neverwinter, I'm still only partially informed on a lot of game areas. There are parts of the game I don't interact with much because I spend all my time doing other things. So I can give some partial answers and hopefully someone more knowledgeable will provide additonal details or…
  • On the topic of lockboxes, they drop like flies and you'll never open all that drop (unless you win a lottery). They're also available pretty cheap on the exchange so you don't need to hoard. You can sell them for peanuts on the AH, or literally just toss them away from time to time to free up inventory space. You get one…
  • The lockboxes in the AH are the ones that require the Enchanted Keys from the Zen store to open (Wasteland, Glorious Resurgence, Halaster's, Undying, the Descent, Mad Mage etc). They're the purple boxes that drop all super shiny and sparkly to make you think "Oh man I just gotta open that!". In Neverwinter they're probably…
  • A couple thoughts. 'Adjusting your AC' involved getting better gear or stats or whatever, and as I recall that wasn't so easy to do unless your DM was in the habit of 'gimme' prizes for showing up to the game. The game isn't like original DnD and doesn't have the same rules... heck, DnD isn't like the original DnD anymore.…
  • OP, there are already daily, weekly, and monthly rewards for logging in and playing. If you haven't figured out where those are yet, then you should probably spend a little more time actually playing and learning where they are.
  • Thanks for all the tips, We ended up borrowing a (crappy, but workable) laptop for him to play on. Thanks @adinosii, I had forgotten it went 64-bit, the Vista is 32, so no workaround is going to fly here. As far as 'supported by Microsoft' goes, the day I rely on Microsoft to protect my computer against security threats is…
  • @nitocris83 , @"noworries#8859" , just wanted to first, say thanks for the pack offer, it's a very nice gesture for the players and the charities both! Second, to confirm what a number of others here have said: I bought 2, $10 packs to use on new accounts for my nephews. Both accounts got the Dragonborn supplies (which…
  • And a fighter before that. Sorry, I had been AFK for a while in the thread before posting and then some more time while typing. You may note those two posts where both less half an hour before mine was finished. That being said, @plasticbat, feel free to post your video of your sub-20K, non-Barbarian completing the…
