Ah, well. Guess we'll have to stick to the horrible conditions we have right now. I just can't see the logic in their decision, however. Are the DCs in worse conditions than us? I don't play them so I don't really have an idea about what their class is going through.
I didn't, actually. I just read the balance changes for the Guardian Fighter for Mod 10. The dev mentioned that for the next mod, only 1 class will get a balance pass. I assumed that it would be the TR because come on, we need some love, devs. :( Its been long overdue. Here's the exact quote from Chris Matz. "So, that…
Glad to hear, man. I'm still trying to salvage the stealth play style, and it seems the devs will be doing balance passes solely for the TR for the next mod. I personally can't wait. :) We need to see how it plays out before we can really make any big investments to the class.
Tried LA + Shadowy Disappearance as well yesterday, and you're right, Rust. Nothing spectacular. I'm trying to salvage my permastealth build and see how much I can do with these new systems in place. Wish I could find the new soft caps for the stats, though.
I just wish the rank ups on the Blade Flurry would be reworked, because technically a multi-charge skill like that is just begging to be spammed at the right moment. Has anyone tested if Lurker's + Shadowy Disappearance works similarly to Blade Flurry? Since Shadowy Disappearance also doesn't incur cooldowns from Stealth,…
I love the idea behind your Lurkers + Blade Flurry strategy, man. I absolutely want to try it out soon. Coincidentally, Shadowy Disappearance doesn't seem to incur a cooldown in Stealth as well. Do you think it can also be done when used in conjunction with LA? Or does it incur a separate cooldown in Stealth?
Thanks for the clarification and the advice on using the GF off-hand with the Crushing Pin feat. I'm reluctant to exchange my current off-hand feature at the moment, but I just LOVE the idea of having a control component to my blocks as well as a debuff with it. And thanks as well, @dread4moor and @beckylunatic. Happy to…
Man, so many things have changed. Got into the game and I was simply overwhelmed by the overall number of changes, but it's really surprising how untouched the TR has been apart from the clunkier ITC. Glad to be back. :) I have a few questions in mind but I think I'll just dig around in the forums to see what else I can…
Hey, Rust! Great to see a familiar face around! And I know, so much has happened IRL that I'm surprised TRs didn't get much of a balance pass in the long span of time I've been away. Anything new in the meta for TRs? If nothing much changed, I'm assuming Scoundrels are still underpowered and Executioners and Sabs are still…
Whoops, my apologies, that was actually pretty stupid of me to say that. 5 points in ICS only affects encounters and they will not pop you out of Stealth when using LA so long as the 5 points are invested. At-Wills are a different thing. I'm terribly sorry for the confusion. Haven't played for so long that things just get…
Very good idea. If we dip 5/5 on Improved Cunning Sneak, it'd also be possible to DF opponents without ever going out of Stealth while in Lurker's Assault. That'd be a huge increase in DPS within those 10 seconds with 100% crit rate from Stealth.
Hi, Mirror. I like the concept of your build, definitely something new and it also seems efficient. I was thinking that MIs would work equally well with such a concept so I thought I'd cook up a variation for the MI lovers, but this will only work for PVE. The details are as follows. Feats: CLICK HERE Skills: - At-Wills:…
Hi. 1. Good point. But that doesn't sound like an awful load of fun for me, and most likely for many other people who are playing the game. I like my set bonuses, specially those with effects I can never possibly hope to gain from stats. I'm playing the game to have fun, and having one of your toys taken away (case in…
Those are just a couple of rough ideas, and as I mentioned in the post I'm pretty sure you guys can create better set effects than me. Perhaps such set bonuses could be implemented on REALLY rare sets. When something is "too good," it simply means it's worth striving for, right? :) But the point still stands, that we all…
Just to chime in on this troubling post. Speaking from the viewpoint of an avid theorycrafter, I believe there are a wide variety of ways to implement Set Bonuses without making them awfully overpowered or overly useless at the same time. Please give us set bonuses. Collecting gear and creating builds are just no fun…
I was speaking in a PVE POV. For PVP, there are other ways to get combat advantage, such as flanking the opponent. But like I said, in PVP, this will be a tad harder to proc. In PVE however, a lot of players will use this CF because we have no other CFs that directly boost our DPS apart from First Strike, and the WK's…
Definitely not viable for PVP. But for PVE, I believe we'll be seeing people using Oppressive Darkness a lot even if it stays like this. It procs each time we have combat advantage against the enemy, and that's pretty easy to set up. A Guardian Fighter can just Mark things and we immediately get combat advantage even…
BUG: Feat Trees. - Not sure if this is a bug or not but TRs need to spend 25 points in one tree to be able to unlock the 6th tier Paragon Feats. I tested with other characters and it seems they only need to spend 20 points in order to unlock their capstones.
Feedback: I agree with Ayroux. Movement Speed gives a huge contribution to the TR survival capabilities. Not much need to dodge when you can position yourself in a way that allows you to escape faster, without much need for dodges as you can just walk away with 70% - 80%+ Movement Speed. This is mostly apparent for…
Agreed. I never really did like the strike-opponents-from-behind feats for Sabs. We're supposed to play in Stealth, so we should get more Stealth-related feats. Scoundrels should be the ones to get those sort of feats.
Dagger Threat can be pretty scary for WK Executioners, though. Once Mod 6 hits, it will become even better since you can increase this further to 20%, up from 15%. For TRs, only WKs have a feat that directly increases their DPS like this. So that's 20% from Dagger Threat. When we combine it with First Strike, which is…
Feedback: Sabotuer's New Feats - Grinning Steel and Blood Soaked Blades - I feel that the feats have absolutely no use for a Stealth-based tree. Grinning Steel, for instance, adds +5% crit chance whenever we are behind our opponent. Saboteur's do most of their fighting inside Stealth, where we get 100% critical chance.…
Everything works even if you're not a Halfling. I'd even dare say that the master race right now is the Dragonborn, due to their ability to get +2 to any of their desired stats. +3% to Deflect Chance is nice but you can compensate for the loss in Deflect with the mastery of your play style. Though the +3% Deflect will be…
True. Also, what I'm imagining to be possibly overpowered would be Transcendent Soulforged, Vorpal, + Lathanander Artifact Set with a high HP, high crit Devotion OP build. Would be a terrifying sight if you see one holding the node in PVP.
Trans Soulforged + Trans Vorpal in my opinion, for Devotion OPs that is. Paladins will be getting a lot of tools to increase their Crit Rate and it shouldn't be too hard for them to reach 40-ish percent Crit Rate. For Protector OPs, Soulforged will most likely still be BIS for survival. For the Weapon Enchant, Bilethorn…
Seems Holy Avenger is best for fast-ticking At-Will attacks such as RoF, DF, and the DC's Punishing Light, to make sure that the 20% chance to proc HA is achieved in the soonest possible time. For AoE/Threat Hold purposes, seems Lightning now has a competitor, which is Bilethorn. Hopefully Bilethorn doesn't have any target…
Does anyone have a screenshot of Transcendent Soulforged's in-game text? Much thanks in advance! These reworks are probably some of the best things that Mod 6 will bring.
