Not sure I agree with that. As a level 60 GF, I often see GWFs that are straight beasts, and am happy to team up with one for complete stun lock on anything we come across.

The change appearance window is already sufficient as a preview, it just needs to be an option when looking at stuff from vendors, chat or the auction house. It's even worse so in PVP. My guardian fighter is pretty unplayable now due to this chance. Quick blocking for specific attacks is pretty much required, and now that you can't block within 5-10 seconds of blocking previously, I'm as good as dead.
You'll probably just want to find a guild. You likely aren't going to have much fun solo queuing for these dungeons as the current meta of just knocking everything off a cliff is far from interesting for the most part on a guardian fighter.
Wouldn't all the other sources of armor pen, buffs and debuffs from other people in your group, make stacking it unnecessary? Is there any benefit after the boss's defense is at 0?
GF Damage has not been nerfed. They fixed a bug involving set bonuses that allowed guardian fighters to one shot T2 bosses. Normal damage for us remains the same, and this build is completely valid.
You say that as if there is an epidemic of two man guardian teams watching each others back, focusing down single targets and coordinating their knockbacks to keep the node in their favor. What you describe is called teamwork.
I can attest to the tank companion issue. For whatever reason, that AI can and will pull aggro off a player tank despite his best efforts to hold it, and proceed to get thrown around the room dragging the boss with it.
