Yeah, GWF is fun, but it feels less like skilled fighter and more like HULK SMASH. Which is delightful fun, but the aesthetic feels mismatched. I was expecting a more controlled, restrained representation and I assumed the class skill would reflect that, rather than just having the character go nuts. Not a big deal to me,…
I would like to see weapons in the game that can at least be associated with holy symbols, since you can transfer the stats to a different item to keep the graphic (right?). Because I want to see Tormites out there with their gauntlets smiting fools and other Clerics with appropriate weaponry. It'd be really fun.
People were doing four digit damage in WoW since folks first hit the level cap. In response to the OP, I feel like numbers in this game get big kinda fast, too (thought I saw a level 30 fighter with 8k health), but it's just the system. I just don't worry about it, much.
Just jumping in to say you're incredibly wrong about GW2. I've only steamrolled one dungeon and that was the story mode version that you go through the first time. Otherwise, everyone had a role, it just wasn't as simple as "You keep the guys on you and I'll keep all the guys alive and she'll get them all dead." There was…
I'm not saying to call a fighter build barbarian at all; I'm saying why isn't the GWF a Barbarian instead? I'm presuming the decision was made earlier in the design process, but I'm wondering why that decision was made. Since the classes are based on builds, it makes more sense, but I still think it would feel more diverse…
Since I haven't seen any evidence of Half-Orcs at launch (I always play them), I'm going with a bad HAMSTER Tiefling Warrior. The only thing I can think of that's as fearsome as a heavily armed, well-armored Orc coming after you is a devil-kin doing the same.
Ahh, I see. Thanks. I didn't realize that, and it does make sense. Kind of wish this sort of thing was filed under "Fighter" or something, but I guess there currently aren't enough variant builds to do that.
Well, I was thinking about it mostly in terms of naming. Just seems to make more sense to just name the Great Weapon Fighter something different because the naming wouldn't be redundant. This is a different class, so it should have a different name, seems to me. It'd make more sense in terms of the medium, too.
