Must be a strange day when I find that I agree with stormdragon lol. Excpet for the hipster part, I'd say the that demographic would be the vanilla WoW and D2 fan as opposed to the mainstream garbage they're churning out now. But I was a hipster before hipsters were cool. :D
Yeah, if you can stomach it, try and farm your PvP gear if you're having trouble. Wasn't familiar with the quest you mentioned, but do know Bill's Tavern. Unlikely to have been a testing issue in that case. :D Anyways, too many variables at play to say why you had the experience you did... class balance, scaling, and so…
Must be dependent on the class your playing then. I've had no issues with a 60 CW with 8k GS. Have 95 greater potions and however many aid kits and plenty of gold. :D
Some Foundry quests are better tested than others, also. Might need to do a bit of research as some authors had been stacking encounters for solo missions not realizing how much tougher they are at higher levels. Should only improve over time I expect.
Yeah this is really important, otherwise you can find yourself in over your head with stacked encounters. If you are looking to the Foundry for some sort of artificial reward, I would say don't bother. If you are looking for something other than the same ol' same ol' dungeons and PvP, I'd say it is your best bet.
Well, aside from the psychological gold mine ITT, there is some truth to it. Blizzard Reps HAVE been caught posing as "average gamers" trying to affect public opinion in the past. I thought this was already common knowledge, however.
I don't understand the big focus on loot. If you had every item in the game, would you still play? Do you find fun in playing Chess with someone who can only play Checkers? What is the goal or means to this end? Are you trying to make some cash on the side?
Is this really so much of a heinous issue that you would have the devs spend more time on an elaborate loot system rather than improving the game in other areas and adding more content/features?
It's strange, but I have NEVER paid any attention to what other people do. I choose Greed on Enchants and off-class blues\purps and Need for Class items. If someone else chose Need on something that I did and won, I don't care. They apparently "Needed" it more than I, since everything is faceroll enough for me as it is. I…
That would be ideal, except that it would make the already problematic queue system worse. My apologies, certainly wasn't my intention if you took it that way, but in retrospect perhaps not the best way for me to express it.
Not really, no. In fact, I would probably prefer either BoP (which wouldn't be profitable for PW/Cryptic) or FFA. I think it was the way this topic was worded with all the morality and behavior policing that brought out my father instincts and grumpy old man attitude. :)
Well, I guess I'm just getting old, and enjoy the more chaotic type of play from D2 for example. This type of whining has impacted gameplay and quality of games over the years, although I suppose that is subjective. Hilariously ironic- just had a neighbor come to tell me she saw my daughter opening a piece of mail…
It has nothing to do with religion (and there was no ad hom in my post- pointing out actual practice), rather micromanaging the way people behave in general. People complaining because others aren't playing the way they want reminded me of my neighbors acting pompous and pious because we let our kids go Trick or Treating.…
This always seems to be a big deal in English for some reason, really ridiculous. When I was learning Italian, everything seemed to embrace gender-specific descriptions (I expect same is true in most Latin-based language). Most words had masculine and feminine forms. Although I admit, language was never my forte, more of a…
The other problem with reducing everything to a monetary value like this, and introducing real world economics into the game, is that it has real effects on gameplay and quality of the game. The recent nerf to professions mat nodes is a good example of this (The Foundry even moreso in limiting creative ability to retain…
If everyone is paying the same price, I'm not sure how that would be P2W. I feel like this model of F2P is a bit shady and dishonest. It capitalizes on certain behaviors instead of being upfront, and hits the player with various "walls" after they are already invested (the hook). And we haven't even seen how they will…
Then charge a box price or sub if there are worries about covering costs. No one should feel pressured or guilty to support a risky, greedy, and shady F2P gamble, if that is what it is.
