  • Did you hear about the Dark Elf that lost his entire savings when the market crashed? Apparently, all his investments were in the Drow Jones.
  • +1________
  • There you go, that doesn't sound too hard to implement either, right? :/
  • The term "thread" can also refer to a series of related postings in an online discussion. Like this here thread. I write a post, I hit submit, end of event trail. On the other hand, collecting like-subjects is sensible UI design.
  • I agree with @gotmeens. A threaded-style system, in which you can open all related emails in a thread with a click, would make more sense. I understand that's not very quick/easy to code, despite the fact that every email-client since Pine has had it pretty well handled, but it's definitely something the UI designers…
  • The OP's request for a tool-tip explaining this in game (especially in the Zen shop) is sensible. Unless looking around on the forums for this information is meant to be one of the many srs challenges of Neverwinter?
  • IMHO this is solid advice.
  • Crafting in Pen and Paper, generally, takes no time and I've never seen anyone role play or design rules for making leather shoes. Because it's boring. It's only included in MMOs as a time sink, as far as I can tell. I recently 'crafted' in a 4e tabletop game. Here's a transcript. Me: I'd like to make this item. The PHB…
  • Is it possible the mail was sent to your box before they were ignored?
  • Here's something... I have not taken a close look at it, so YMMV, but it seems comprehensive for what there is of professions in NW so far. http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?227871-Neverwinter-Crafting-Tutorial-Pt-1-The-Basics-and-Leadership-Training-Levels-1-3…

  • I don't enjoy watching a progress bar slide across my screen 400 times in a half hour while my character makes twenty seven Widgets of Justice and combines them into Armor of Whogivesacrap in order to level up to the point where I can make the (usually) one useful item you can get from that branch. Luckily, if that's what…
  • Mr. Praline, A Guardian Fighter, enters the Dungeon Queue Mr. Praline: 'Ello, I wish to register a complaint. (The DM does not respond.) Mr. Praline: 'Ello, Miss? DM: What do you mean "miss"? Mr. Praline: (pause)I'm sorry, I have a cold. I wish to make a complaint! DM: We're closin' for lunch. Mr. Praline: Never mind that,…
  • I see a lot of "should" in replies. What I have done in every group is look when something drops, look what people roll and what their classes are. If everyone rolls need on everything, so do I. If I see even one person rolling need on everything, so do I. I don't have time to be a bunch of anon peoples' mothers, and I…

  • Sadly the truth.

  • Untrue. They cost whatever the DM says they cost.

  • EDIT: And this duplicated post was another victim of the hiccuping reverse-proxy in front of the forums. :/
  • Ah ha! Another victim of thoughtless players employing Neverwinter's "greed before greed" loot system.
  • Interestingly the mobs would only actually fall off half the time. Monsters pushed off ledges in 4e pen and paper get a saving throw to avoid the fall and catch themselves. Insta-kills on non-Minions are few and far between in pen and paper.
  • omfgvexer's point is one that maybe (I don't have the math to know) you addressed already, but it's a good point. Thank @lanlin for attempting to reach objective proofs in the middle of a ton of anecdote. It absolutely is appreciated by many people, many of whom likely won't post. Don't be discouraged.
  • I understand your point, but "shut up" is not a rational argument.
  • You have some magic, then. The six attempts I made on my 35 rogue on Mad Dragon ended when someone DC'ed/AFKed/Ragequit and we sat there waiting with four people for 10+ minutes. Maybe we didn't wait long enough? Some indication that the system was doing something may then have mitigated the entire group disbanding with…
  • Yeah, hopefully they won't have to do that again. It didn't impact me much, but I can imagine how it would if they had to do it, say, once a week. As far as I know, and I've played a few MMOs (EQ, AC, WoW, etc.) this has never ever worked. It's probably wasted effort. Spammers and gold sellers will gravitate like orbiting…
  • Since all the answers are going to be random opinion backed up only with allegory unless someone has been doing census counts on shards... I'll say that it was much easier to fool around in the Enclave last night, and when I looked at the instance population it looked pretty sparse. That could just be people waiting to log…
  • Sorry, F-YOU FRANK was apparently a too-obscure reference. I chose to ignore your "more accurate" poll because I just don't care. Apparently, Cryptic/PW also doesn't care. They don't want their game run by the democratic process - which is what a 'poll' presented as a forced vote before login would be. Can't say I blame…
  • Poll of forum goers is not super accurate representation of the entire player base. True. Poll of anything in real life is not super accurate representation of the entire population effected by policy based on the poll outcome. True. Some people jump instantly to this fact whenever poll disagrees with whatever opinion they…
  • Mmmm.... Baarrrrrrrley
  • How did they pick it, then? It sounds like you're assuming that the accusations that this bug was extant and being exploited before yesterdays catsplosion are false, yes?
  • I don't believe you. Here's why.
