i'm not one for numbers, but the most i can get the bleed to tick for on a dummy is 12k the test server. the dummy always dies on live but i can tell it hits for more on live. i'm using plaguefire though and they nerfed the hell out of it. need to get some vorpal.
if you really want to do decent damage with your GWF: you need to weave WMS, your second at-will(reaping or wicked strike and soon to be sure strike maybe), and your 3 encounters together so have very little downtime in an animation. Never just spam one thing and always be looking to end the animation of another with a…
you need to be careful you aren't hitting a dummy that isn't being hit by a bunch of other people using plaguefire and student of the sword. it was hard to test in that enviroment with everyone debuffing.
you can time your dodge for his wing flap to stay right by him and avoid the damage. it's like 2 seconds after the aoe circle shows that you will want to dodge. for the hands he will usually lift his head up and let out a wail when he spawns the hands. if you hear the wail just move or dodge. using DF directly under his…
the DF bleed on playtest currently stops working on a mob after about 7 seconds. the stack stays on 10 but no damage is done. they either need to make the bleed drop automatically after 10 stacks after a set time or let the damage refresh.
having a gwf(or multiple) with the right spec will make everyone in the group do way more damage atm but everyone is too in awe with getting mobs pushed off ledges or stuck on terrain to notice.
reaping strike adds 1 extra hit per charge, and will hit 3 times fully charged. it also scales very well with armor debuffs(with my own debuffs on a dummy I've had it hit over 18k on a single target).
Uh I'm pretty sure power isn't the best stat by any margin. 25 power to 1 bonus damage means you need huge amounts of it to even come close to the damage increases you will see from balancing your stats out. AP to 2.2k, Crit/Recovery to 3k+, then any leftover into power. Power just isn't as cost effective until the others…
Let's say a mob has 15% damage resistance, and you stack wicked reminder up enough to do -15% resistance debuff. You will now do normal damage if you have 0 armor pen. However if you have 15% resistance reduction with AP and hit that same mob that is debuffed by wicked reminder; your AP will first calculate the mobs…
This is what impossible to catch is for. 5 seconds is all you need to destroy a couple people. They can't repel you(trust me a wizard tried to repel me and i just kept on going) with it on either. Duelist flurry will also make you cc immune on the flurry part.
reaping strike is underrated. has the highest damage to power ratio for any at-will and will hit as hard or harder than your encounter powers with proper feats. it actually hits one time for each charge, hitting 3 times in one at 3 charge ups.
Things are going great, we have many people of every level range that are ready to pvp and dungeon delve at any time! Can't wait to set up gauntlygrim parties!
according to that wiki, they are somehow primary role of damage dealer and defender, and a secondary role of striker and defender. Can't trust the info there yet.
Can you really trust that wiki yet tacc4990 in which one breath says it's primary role is a defender then in another says it's primary role is damage dealer(not striker, just damage dealer). You have to make sure you know who's editing that thing.
watching both the GWF*not the leadership one+* streams and TR rogue streams that got to 60; they took about the same time to kill things, chugged many pots, and died to the same quest bosses. Mind you I don't think they understood the secrets of combat advantage and could of been doing much better.
This isn't what everyone wants to hear and will probably bring the roar out of most of ya's but here it is. http://www.mmorpg.com/gamelist.cfm/game/634/feature/7351/Open-Beta-Launch-Interview.html/page/1
I liken GWF to a Dagger/Dagger elementalist in Guild Wars 2. Highly mobile, highly resilient with enough juice to take anyone down. Only with a giant weapon, more armor, and more hit points. D/D elementalist was also thought of as weak early on but people learned it's effectiveness as time went on.
It's probably going to be two-blade ranger first, archery down the road; possibly after the 60 days when they release drow(to unleash the drizzt clones). They have said the class was their favorite for many of the devs, and this ranger archetype is just the thing that fits that. Two-Blade Ranger also being one of the best…
GWF becomes a force once you get all their single target encounters/crescendo to rank 3 plus feat bonuses. You will hit hard enough to take out anyone but you'll have the extra damage resistance/cc immunity/mobility they do not. Just think about it. The way it was betaweekend 3, our damage was going to scale way too…
Indomitable Battle Strike seems the hardest hitting move, and it's an AoE(smaller one but will hit every target sucked in by Come and Get It usually). Restoring Strike and Flourish are also good choices, but Flourish actually hits the least of any of them but does stun. I can see the usefulness in Roar but I'd rather…
with stealth and dazing strike, you should be in combat advantage more often then you aren't, and you should always be seeking to flank someone/something so everyone else gets it to. the damage increase is significant, for example GFs go from unbeatable tanks to paper once flanked. The paragon feat that gives even better…
GWF has deadly burst with it's encounter powers, moreso then a rogue's sometimes. Indomitable Battle Strike, Restoring Strike, and Flourish can make short work of anyone at high levels. Crescendo is also a very good daily in that it follows the enemy wherever they go dodge or not. Our best AoE damage comes from at-wills,…
really going to try a high crit build since it seems to go on top of combat advantage and really increases the amount of damage you see. that plus the crit severity feat will help with damage some. i know on trickster rogue with all the crit severity feats the damage numbers you can get are ridiculous.(10k+dot with 10…
the problem right now would be the scaling when you single target vs aoe. most skills do less damage when attacking multiple enemies, so hitting one enemy shouldn't be that much lower compared to other classes. as of right now the base damage on most GWF skills has been greatly reduced when they should of just kept the…
