Yes, there were definitely resource nodes that were broken and got you "stuck", and that bug did persist for a while. But you had mentioned "looting" in addition to gathering, which was a launch issue (crafting items had the same problem.. basically anything that was going to introduce "something" into your inventory). And…
I think you're completely missing the point if you're allowing yourself to get hung up on the opening comment in the article. You might want to read the whole thing. Or not, up to you!
Yes, I definitely remember getting stuck while looting or crafting. However, that problem was a result of an overload on their database systems that only showed up once you threw a million players at the game (a scenario that did not show up in beta, nor did anyone predict happening back in those days when EQ had only…
Not a zoom so much as a field of view change, of course. However, you might want to peek at this thread that discusses a wonderful workaround like this in detail: http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?209522-Instructions-to-set-up-your-mousewheel-for-camera-zoom Goes as far as making sure the changes doesn't…
Your complaint about WoW is really not in any way fair, however (and trust me, I am beyond tired of WoW at this point and not jumping to their defense, but I am trying to be reasonable and realistic). When WoW launched, EQ was holding the North American subscription records at 500,000 users. Blizzard was ready to handle…
You can earn far more AD for far less XP through the Leadership profession. The only way (unfortunately) to earn Ardent/Celestial coins is through invocation (which is annoying if you're trying to avoid the extra experience gains).
Well, I have a different complaint on the same subject. I do log in every day to get the ardent/celestial coins, but hate the fact that they're tied to the invocation process. Invocation simply rewards far too much XP, XP I don't even want, especially if I only have enough time to log in and secure my coins but not play.…
If that's how you judge "worth doing", you're probably playing the wrong game. I mean, if you're not just playing through the content for the fun of it (people still game for fun, right?) you need to ask yourself why you're even bothering to play the game at all.
Because it's just a label the developers are choosing to use (improperly). That doesn't make it reality, and it doesn't mean the press is going to play along with Cryptic's marketing stunt. If PW/Cryptic starts labeling all patch updates as "expansions", within a year's time can they start making press releases about…
Hahaha. That's funny. You actually buy into that? As for the review, I thought there were one or two areas that it was being a little kind on, but not bad otherwise.
This isn't a necro-thread. First of all, it's only been two and a half weeks from the last post. Second of all, the topic is still relevant. It's not like there have been changes that make the information within this thread obsolete. When that happens, THEN it's a necro. This is just an example of someone responsible using…
I feel like you're trying to explain to me how it works when I clearly explained how it works first. Again, they are necessary to craft better quality items. Without them you can't. That is incorrect. You can not craft higher quality versions of the crafted gear with the common tools. At best you can get lucky…
The first time? Really? Either you don't frequent the forums often or you just haven't been paying attention. No chance here of you being in error, of course. ;)
I have to agree with this. In my opinion free-to-play games are at their best when cash-shop convenience items can be obtained through in-game means in a reasonable manner OR the cash-shop prices are reasonable enough that most people won't bat an eye at paying them. Neverwinter is nowhere close to either of those, which…
Well, they are necessary to craft better quality items. Without them you simply can't. For players who like to craft their own gear because that's something they enjoy doing, that's kind of a big deal.
The flip side of this argument is that there are also other MMOs which charge far less than $40 (or even $20) for a mount, while still having them available for all characters on the account. Let's not point out one extreme without pointing out the other. *shrugs and smiles*
I would be surprised if the upgrade books are made available any time before a green, and then blue, and then purple variant are all added to the store in staggered releases (and in that order), creating a situation where players wind up purchasing all three extra colors. Got to milk that opportunity to its fullest!
Just want to give an example of the problem. As you can see in the attached picture, the only entries being displayed are the two rare tasks, but none of the standard tasks. If I uncheck the "Hide Higher Level Tasks" filter, then three more rare tasks (for a total of five) that are above my profession level display, but…
Are you saying the original poster made this thread not to ask Cryptic about plans for more mounts as he implies, but instead to let the community know exactly how many mounts he's collected, all in the hopes of receiving praise from his peers?
I just want to add.. I'm really surprised by some of the naivete in this thread, especially as some of this should just be common sense. When a developer has a firm launch deadline, and that deadline is approaching, it is not at all unusual for the development team to put their noses to the grindstone in order to pick up…
Prior to Vindictus launching in North America, its open beta period was only about a month long. Marvel Heroes has only had a smattering of "open beta weekends" between closed beta and launch. On top of that, I believe they are wiping at launch. There are examples out there if you bother to look around.
This. The companions have to be summoned to earn XP, and between turning in quests in a town, to professions, to invocations.. there are just a lot of opportunities to earn experience while in town. An option not to display them, I can live with, but they need to stay in a summoned state until the experience sharing…
First, you listened to that interview wrong. There was no multiple-choice definition game played that the producer waved off as pointless. The interviewer said: "So as far as the open beta goes, I mean.. realistically, you kind of ask the fans and the people who played it, you could say that the game has been launched, but…
I don't know about you, but when I see someone undercut by pennies I go for the "higher" priced listing just to spite their silliness. I would rather pay a penny more and watch them eat the listing fees for not offering truly competitive prices.
The problem with low subs numbers is that it takes too long to make back development costs and start turning a profit, which are usually ridiculously high now compared to 15 years ago. EQ's initial development cost was just a few million, a fraction of game's like SWTOR.
