… and after reading the patch notes, I figured it out. Yes, they did “vault” about a dozen zones. They are apparently going to bring them back later as campaign zones… but for now, that content is no longer there.
Hey, that's how software development works. A month from bug report to fix is actually really good, since a bug has to go through several stages before getting fixed. Being insulting or rude to the dev team isn't going to make it happen any faster.
Ouch! Come on, Cryptic... if you want people to adopt MMO's on consoles, you've got to be a little more forward-thinking than this. Some people have spent a lot of money on this game, and to tell them that they have to start over from zero is just unthinkable.
I think local storage is the answer, here. Save foundry quests on the player's PC, and only store published quests in the cloud. This way, we can have as many unpublished quests as we want, while still having some reasonable limit to published quests.
The best advice I ever got was this: if you pull agro, don't run away from the group. Run straight for the tank. If he's doing his job, he's generating massive threat and forcing the mobs to concentrate on him. So if you run past the tank with that big mob chasing you, chances are the mob will switch back to the tank, and…
This right here. When I play a healer, on any MMO, I don't do DPS. I strictly stick to healing. When I lead a party, I prefer that the healers to stick to healing, so they don't draw aggro. Of course, on most MMO's, healers are pretty squishy, and they die quick if their team doesn't keep the mobs off them. This is one…
Here's the thing: no one expects to automatically get a free copy of any other game on the XBox buying it on the PC: I had to pay separately for for my PC and XBox copies of Skyrim. I had to pay twice for Diablo 3. So I kind of expect to have to pay a second time if I want the special mounts and other items I got with my…
I would be happy to get my celestial coins back... I got bumped at around 11 AM on Sunday and never could log in for the rest of the day, so I lost about 10 celestial coins across my 3 characters, right when I was going to get something with them, too.
I lost all my celestials. The game was down long enough that my 24 hours came and went before I could log in again. I had 5 coins on one character, 3 on another, and 4 on another. Thanks for that.
Ultima Online and Everquest were not "basically just RPG's." And Cryptic has shut down ALL their titles tonight. STO, Champions... they're all down. I'm in voice chat with my STO buddies right now, and we're all doing random stuff waiting for the servers to come back.
Honestly, I wish Cryptic would do what they did with STO: have a subscription tier that bypasses the need to pay in to the Zen market for things like lockbox keys and bank slots. The bank thing really bugs me... when I started a new character, filled my bank with things like enchantments on the first day.
