all sorts of useful that is, not that the scoreboard was terribly useful to begin with... but still. I think it speaks volumes that player characters in Neverwinter have reached a level of power that exceeds the game's ability to calculate it.
I believe a change to many of the companions in the game is/was a long time coming. As it stands there is a pitifully small list of companions the players would consider 'useful' for any given class or build. The recent introduction of certain companions made them instant top picks and further pushed dozens of older…
I can't help but point out that the OP is 'claiming' ownership of loot that was dropped by mobs that his entire party contributed to dispatching. Taking an extra half-second to press 'F' does not immediately grant you sole access to those items. Every member of your team has a right to roll on loot in your dungeon if they…
When I refer to class diversity what I'm referencing is how each class has strengths and weaknesses, situations where they shine and where they fall short. Certain classes should be strong defensively and weak offensively. Classes with strong control abilities should have less damaging capability. Classes who buff their…
@wickedduck Ya I've had that happen as well. Just as soon as chains end I would swarm, pop soul sight and boom.. stunned. then I know I have to hold back and not use SoD while I wait for chains again since I lost dps time being stunned, then chains.. chains ends I start up my rotation, pop my daily and boom.. stunned…
The dungeon itself isn't dreadfully difficult but I agree with duck in reference to both the reflect damage as well as the final 'Strahd Stroll' as I like to call it. Sisters. On my TR I've started to not proc SoD unless chains was just used, then I'll go through 3 SoD cycles then not proc it again until after chains. Its…
@c1k4ml3kc3 You keep using derogatory terms when you refer to classes other than your chosen main. 'Buff-boi GF' 'Bubblewrap' 'Lamp-man'. You're coming across as a class-ist and salty, you may wish to avoid such terminology if you want to be taken more seriously. I told you you had no right to complain about not being able…
FFS man. No. You don't 'have' to bring 4 support and 1 dps. We've told you this how many times now? You are only 'required' to bring the 2 primary supports, one tank and one healer. The other 3 are up to you and the dungeon will be doable. If you refuse to believe that then maybe the people in your groups aren't playing…
@Blur Well done channeling the late great Mr. Carlin. @OP You are accurate in saying that a dungeon in DnD can be overcome without a tank-type but this isn't DnD. It is an MMO (kinda) inspired by DnD and based in a DnD world, but DnD it is not. Most games in this genre follow the holy trinity, some games have tried to get…
The newest content is end-game focused. By that definition 'newbies' as you put it may not necessarily belong there. Your 'Executioner TR friend' has the right idea. They've spec'd their character the only viable way they can to be competitive. You seem to not be willing to do so. You have a viable option you're just…
Title of this thread is misleading and should be changed. There is absolutely nothing 'buggy' about how SoD functions. It is working exactly as it is coded. There is no bug, there is no exploit. Furthermore, it is not necessarily SOD's fault that it is over-performing to the extent that it currently is. There are multiple…
to the OP. Every person playing this game is entitled to, and has the right to play it how they want. From the type who doesn't care about build, IL, gear or speed to the type who wants to create the most powerful/efficient groups possible. There is nothing wrong with either playstyle nor should there be an incentive built…
I'm pretty sure when Cryptic boasted 15 million players they used the term 'players' loosely. What they meant to say was, "15 million unique accounts created." Of course that means everyone who played and quit, everyone who created an alt account to claim a promo, and of course... every account created by bot farmers, bot…
Hope this gets fixed soon as we can't really test anything in the dungeon without our usual gear setups. Would be impossible to balance the game with bondings and companion stats in mind if we don't have those stats.
I liked the interface. I think that's a good improvement. I still feel like the actual amount of RP earned just doesn't make this event feel worthwhile. I left the bonus at 1x and farmed mobs for wanted posters, as I would be doing on Live, for a couple hours. The amount of RP I earned was woeful. So I tried boosting the…
The change in chance to obtain 30k RAD from invoking was a fix to the change in how much XP is required to obtain an overflow reward. The amount of XP required went from 1.7 million to 100k. This means we are all receiving overflow rewards about 17 times faster than we were. The chance to get XP overflows had to be changed…
You are entirely correct. There are a vast majority of players who simply ignore mechanics because they can stack so many buffs and increase their damage so high that all mechanics can be ignored. You can immediately recognize these people when they get put into a non-optimized, less than perfect party that requires using…
In some ways I agree with your sentiment. I feel that trash mobs in dungeons should be significantly more difficult. I feel that they should pose a much more significant threat, requiring proper tanking, healing and positioning. Health on enemies in dungeons should be increased substantially, at least 5-10x. I also feel…
I'm not quite sure what you're getting at dolrey. I can assure you that at the highest level of play in Neverwinter the players very much have to think about what they are doing. At the highest level of play the players are very conscious of the decisions they make when managing what skills to use and when. Neverwinter…
I think one reason why random queues are such an unpleasant experience is the simple fact that they're tied to income. A vast majority of the people in those dungeons or skirms don't want to be there. They don't want to run that content, they just want their paycheck. So they afk, or play poorly. This reduces that player's…
Mobs that I can that confirm have a chance to drop posters are; Honor Guards, Undead Knight, Werewolf Elites, Archdruids. Mobs that others have told me can drop posters but that I can't confirm are; Barovian Witches, Big Spiders. Alongside these usual mobs you can get a poster when you kill the NightTerror.
Sister of Fury decided everyone needed more health, including herself. This went on for a few minutes. I recorded video and got combatlog info. Looking through ACT I was unable to find the source of the healing. It was rather hilarious when these enormous healing numbers started appearing on our screens. We had a good 'ol…
I uphold my theory that my account is cursed. I also uphold the theory that Neverwinter has a flawed RNG system. This second theory can never be proven or dis-proven since Cryptic will never allow the players to know any details concerning how they determine 'random results'. My theory of flawed RNG is the Schrodinger's…
I've done a decent number of hunts now. Twelve I've done by myself and about as many again in a group of 3. By myself I completed 2 Direfangs, about 5 one-star hunts, 3 two-star hunts and 2 three-star hunts. From those hunts I got a decent amount of blue quality salvage as well as 1 specific hunt drop. In the group we did…
Forgive me for not reading through 16 pages. If what I say has already been said, again, I apologize. If you want to remove AD from the economy might I suggest adding Coalescent and Preservation wards to the Wondrous Bazaar for an equivalent price? Doing this would remove an enormous amount of AD from the economy and…
Ran this today with some of the Crusader officer's. We had a good time learning the fights. I was in charge of the book in the first fight. After a quick read of the abilities and a little testing I had those 2 sisters on lockdown without any difficulty. Its just a matter of using the powers you're given intelligently.…
All we can do is hope that this new hunt system will have a few changes that make a little more player friendly and a little less RNG heavy. RNG is ok, but when you start to layer it on top of each other you get HAMSTER sandwich.
This is good news. Greatly appreciated. I second the suggestion to make it a guaranteed drop for the summoner from now on. The amount of effort required to get a Tyrant lure would justify it.
