Devs, you are totally dropping the ball. I have always supported this game, by word of mouth, by twitch, by wallet. You have repayed me by killing my class. GWF's die to everything. They die to healing DC's, they die via 1 shot by TR's. Dot's kill us, Piercing damage kills us. Why do you hate the GWF's so much?

We need love before this mod comes out or they are done. Here are some things you could do to make them more viable.

1) Determination gain: For the love of the gods we get 2 unstoppables before we die. This is the dumbest, worst mechanic ever for a class that has to face tank everything! Sprint with DR is negligable. YOU MUST FIX THIS!!!! Imagine if you gave other classes only 2 dodges then told them that in order to dodge, they must first lose half their life!!! Determination should be based off of incoming damage (prior to mitigation/DR) not % of HP lost, that's a terrible concept!

2) Damage: Imagine if you told all the other classes they had to lose half their life before they could even begin to build stacks in order to do mediocre damage? THIS IS TERRIBLE! Destroyer stacks take too long to achieve, fall off too quickly, don't deal enough damage, and are horrible in combination with the aforementioned determination gain! Stacks should be built with damage dealt, or... better yet... just let them keep the damage all the time LIKE EVERY OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME!. Without destroyer stacks, or instigator capstone (which still must receive damage to give damage) GWF damage is TERRIBAD. You nerfed the only viable sentinel damage (intimidation) without giving them any true tankiness... That is terrible as well, so Sent's get nothing.. no damage, no survivability.

3) Piercing damage: GET RID OF THIS TERRIBLE IDEA!!!! When are you guys going to realize that Piercing damage negates what little defense the GWF has? C'mon guys... Please this is a horrible idea. TR's are tankier than GWF's, CW's with Shield are tankier than GWF's. If you won't fix piercing damage then give us crushing damage. I mean for realz we wield a 2 handed GREAT SWORD and we do less damage with it than a freaking saboteur using cloud of steel for 8k per hit or more. Give us crushing damage that can't be resisted to put us on par... then ITC wouldn't be tankier than we are in unstoppable, this would be a better way to deal with it.

4) CC: Every class has so much control, we have very little to do about it, especially since our determination gain is SOOOO BAAAADD! We have a few CC abilities which are constantly deflected and don't give us time to set up, especially if they are all dodged! Give us back a prone, let Take Down live up to it's name! Or, give us back roar with a a daze/interrupt! or Better yet, make us in line with the other classes and give us both!!!!

5) Stop taking away everything that is any good for the GWF please! It's like you guys are intentionally trying to ruin this class? Please listen to us GWF's who have played since the beginning! Help us! Work with us! Please restore my faith in your ability to balance!

    last preview patch tomorrow, its do or die. its either gonna renew your spirit or break it. I'm gonna be realistic, I think it would be the latter, but I would love to be proven wrong.

    I think a good way of buffing our DR, is making unstoppable work like a CW shield, a damage resistance that can't be debuffed and affected by armor penetration. just code it like that, no need to even change the numbers and it would already bring a noticeable change!

    I think they need to do a lot... There was one build that worked in beta-mod 2.. One build in mod 3, one build near the end of mod 4 that leaked into mod 5, and now there are no builds..

    The dev's are totally up to their eyes in work for biting off way more than they could chew. They have no clue how to make this mod work, and they can't seem to figure out how to fit a GWF in without messing up their "off tank" money sink they created this module.

    GWF's used to be beasts. They used to rival the "emo cocky 1v1 me bro" TR's. Now they literally get 1 shot, and will probably get 1 shot again in this next mod. Who gives a flying **** if they do decent damage in pve? I don't...

    SO MAKE THEM WORK IN PVP. You don't have to change their PVE moves, we have already been shown you can separate the two. Give them something man!

    I know there is literally one dev who programs, otherwise we might see more than 1 change to a non art feature every 6 months. But seriously, figure this out, and do it quick or you are killing a class for pvp, and inevitably losing more money if that is seemingly possible.

    I have read somewhere that they feel the GWF is on par with the other classes. Take that as a bad sign.

    I fully agree on the Determination, Unstoppable and Piercing issues. I think we have to get back to the point where Unstoppable means opponents have to back off because most powers they fire in that span are wasted because of high DR. Nowadays classes barely care about whether you just hit TAB or not, with all the Piercing around it hardly makes any difference.
    And like you said. Being tankier is partially mitigated by the fact that you build Determination slower.

    I also think GWFs need feat access to Life Steal, for PVE and PVP.

    Sad to see that the one class that is meant to shine in combat as damage can't do **** anymore. And just to think, all the devs really needed to do in Mod 4 was fix roar, but instead they decided to 'fix' everything else. As Ayroux pointed out a while back, they were so close to balancing things for pvp ahead of Mod 4 but they tinkered with things that should have been left alone. What's the old adage? If it ain't broke don't fix it. Words that Crytpic should learn to live by if they want this game to survive one more Mod.

    Into the subjet: you are right on everything but "giving piercing damage to GWF-class". Even if they give "us" piercing damage for everything, the class will be still useless due lack of survivality and damage.

    Akro has zero weight when it comes to any actual influence on the devs

    The official feedback thread is LITTERED with suggestions and ideas that would work to bring this class up to par. Unfortunately they dont care.

    Just hoping tomorrows PTR patch contains some real changes along what we need, im at the end of my GWF rope and will always play him but next module I might be benching GWF in favor of my GF (which last time I did that I ended up taking a break from the game instead).

    We will see....

    same with warlock, but from my sight GWF is really a sad class in PVP, when watching all these upper 20k GWF who spend lots of time and probably money for their char beeing sloughtered by gearless and often scilless players by pressing two buttons i can understand the rage and am absoulutely clueless how this could happen, only in case of a develloper that does not test his product and is blind in most cases
    there is so much input to fix things
    looking at mod 6 where classes get buffed who were not in need, and other classes nerfed who needed help, i think there is a huge latency of 2-3 mods before things get reworked or fixed

    (all good points) TR's are tankier than GWF's, CW's with Shield are tankier than GWF's (other good points)

    and this ^, this is why i stopped playing my GWF

    the offtank class is outtanked by a stealth class in leather armor and a mage with cloth armor

    it's ridiculous...

    then you toss in the amazing damage they do and the GWF's bad design just becomes even more apparent

    Funny thing is, we never got an actual 'nerf' persay, it's just everyone else got buffed and the GWF got ****. I am super pessimistic about tomorrow's last patch. Class is dead. Give me back my money. RIP.

    tomorrow's patch is make or break for most GWF players.

    also there was 1 question in the recent AMA in reddit about GWF being underpowered. It wasn't answered.

    The TR saw a reversal of fortunes. Went from trash to uber Godmode. How long, I wonder, before the nerfbat strikes again? Cryptic should employ Greg "Ghostcrawler" Street. He'll fix TRs real good :P

    Actually we got massively nerfed. Just a few off the top of my head:

    1) Unstoppable nerfed to 15-30% DR
    2) Takedown damage reduced over 30% + no longer prones
    3) Front Line no longer prones and damage reduced.
    4) Roar no longer does anything
    5) Determination now based only off % HP loss - NOT "total" damage taken (basically meaning it was PRE-DR damage now its POST-DR damage which is a massive nerf).
    6) From mod 5-> Mod 6 Intimidation is a JOKE now.

    But yes you are right, ONTOP of all these nerfs they THEN went and buffed the <font color="orange">HAMSTER</font> out of everyone else.... CWs got their shield on tab which makes them tankier than GWFs by FAR.

    TRs always were VERY VERY hard to kill but now they gave them insane damage to go with it...

    DCs became even more unkillable - in the past it wasnt so...

    Even GFs have been buffed to the point that a good GF will never lose to a GWF.

    Its just really sad, REALLY sad - especially since the GWF has been in this spot since module 4 the ONLY reason it isnt more apparent is because we "lucked out" with them not realizing how BIS GWFs could scale intimidation - allowing atleast ONE super cheesy but semi-viable spec.

    Thats gone module 6 now and even if it wasnt... It wouldnt have been good anyways due to Terror reducing your power by 40% AND! it also still doesnt fix the issue we face TODAY - Sentinel GWF is SQUISHIER than nearly ANY other class with the exception of a SW.

    TR/HR/CW/DC/GF are ALL tankier in PVP than the GWF.

    EDIT: I also forgot, they nerfed Threat Rush and gave it both charges AND a "animation delay" at the end so we cant even attack right away...

    last test this morning with a lvl70 char maxxed rank12 , since mod1 i had always find a way to be viable on gwf but sadly today..
    since last patch grand fissure dmg was reduce ; around 45k crit dmg on player down to 8k dmg , ibs crit 7kto15k , take down and fls 5k
    i tryed to switch to masters *i was iron vanguard* ; fleurish 13k ibs 7k crescendo 15-20k dmg

    those "awesome" dmg are deals with a char 26k power 59.5% arp , i don t know what to do , it was viabe before last patch , i don t what they did but my dps go down 200% and 300% on some encounter.

    Save the time mate, dont do ESO. The PVE content is alright, but PVP is just a massive 2-3 shot zerg fest, even on a tanky character.

    Feedback for the GWF class has been posted numerous time, over and over. Im not sure what metrics they are using to judge this class, either it be PVE dungeons or some type of ACT testing on dummies, as I have referenced before there are MAJOR differences in PVE/Dummy DPS versus PVP actual play.

    Probably the TWO biggest areas that could use a fix are:
    1) Stacking - and our reliance on our stacking mechanisms that are not able to be seen in PVE content but are painfully obvious in PVP.
    2) temp HP (OR even moving the 15-30% and 30% DR boosts to an "CW shield/GF block" like DR where its on its own level).

    Those would both "normalize" our damage for PVP as well as give a slight tankyness boost to all GWFs which is what we need.

    I'd have to say pve. I have seen a few GWFs dish out some serias damage in KR and SoT in Mod 5 which would suggest that they were okay in this last Mod and on par with everyone but CWs/SWs.

    But pvp is a whole different kettle of fish. I don't think the devs are looking at this format at all other than swinging the nerfbat if a GWF ability was over-performing in pvp. That's just my guess though.
