Missed the Live stream again. I know, I should be following social media more closely. But - I signed up for email notifications for pwe, STO, and NW twitch. I get "X event has gone live" emails from STO at the START of their livestreams, but only get "Neverwinter has gone live with 'Offline for Now'"
emails on your Twitch streams?
It's so frustrating! Am I the only one who has this problem? I am subscribed with exactly the same settings; it seems like maybe NW twitch has a setting announcing the end of the stream?
There's an issue with Twitch where sometimes it won't rename the stream properly, despite the broadcaster making sure to do so. We'll try and keep an eye out for it in the future. We haven't been having that problem lately.
Devotion (Healer) Paladins will *replace* DCs in PvP and PvE Queues: if you get a healer Paladin you should not get a DC, and same for Tanking Paladins: they replace GFs in Queue. So queues choose a "healer" which is a DC *or* a Devotion Paladin and they choose a tank which is a GF *or* a Protection Paladins (one healer and one tank) theoretically from level 30 onward.
In short you get one OR the other, not both unless you have a pre-made party.
This was made clear on the Livestream.
Here is how they explained it: it's based on the Paragon path the player chooses: Devotion (Healer) or Protection (Tank) will then place the player into the "type" category of healer or tank. The Queue system is able to know which paragon you chose and therefore know which you are: a healer or tank and assign you accordingly. It also means there can be multiple healers (DCs and Paladins/GFs and Paladins) in the skirmishes and queues uo to the Level 30 stuff (when you choose a paragon path).
They also said this is a NEW system that only works for Paladins for now (the Paladin class is the "field test" for this new tech) - so this tech doesn't work on existing classes at this time. They never said it ever will, either - so that's an unknown.
Not necessarily talking about just ques but people looking for group and putting together their own team. Will they specifically want a pally healer over a DC because the pally can rez?

they have no controll over who they res though its automatic meaning they could res up then drop back down thanks to bad positioning any way i think he said there also a 2 second delay but that is just concerning PvP

I think he was talking about pvp, a delay and perhaps someone still being able to press F to defeat the player. In PVE, monsters don't press F to defeat you, nor do they give you one last chomp to finalize the defeat.

I already addressed that if you die in a bad spot you can still get swarmed or caught in a AoE and die Unless the paladin catches you with his Hots or 39k healing skill fast enough

Okay but that still gives paladins a power that could make it so that clerics would no longer be welcome in group settings since the healing pally can at least try to rez. When someone is being rezzed, they can also pop a potion while waiting for those heals. It does put clerics in a disadvantage. Unless they gave clerics the option to rez as well.

Its a nice skill in theory but has a huge annoyance factor of that you cant control the exact moment or were your group member rez NOW if the skill teleported the rezed target to your feet it be a different story. will it put OP at a advantage i guess but then again you should not be dieing in the first place the aura is nice but it will not be the make or break thing for me when inviting a paladin.

doh, thought the dragonborn packs would be lottoed between posters in this thread
I've been reading this forum and I see alot of players hating on the paladin, even some who said paladin shouldn't have been added because of the DC's and GF's.. Others claiming the class is not even D&D..
Well lets start by letting you all know a few things, If your a Veteran original D&D DM and player since 1.0 pen and paper (green sheets) like me..
1. Paladin is one of the Original classes since D&D first came to light.
2. None of the D&D books list a Devoted Cleric or Gaurdian Fighter, or even a Great Weapon Fighter class.
3. The Paladin is the true original tank of D&D.
So the addition of the Paladin is great addition to NW and I for one can't wait till it goes live and make one. It's not going to replace your precious DC or GF, it only gives players another great class to play and experience.
So quit your QQing and know that your game is not going to be hendered, only expanded..
As far as the level cap goes and all the players who are complaining about their precious legendary artifact gear that you spent 100's of $ on.. If you know MMO's and have played them as long as I have, There will always be a level increase, new level gear, and new content.
1. DDO level cap was raised a few years ago from 20 - 25
2. WoW.. well many level increases. Level 100 now i believe
3. Aion. level cap was increased a few years ago
And I imagine many other MMO's as well.. Only difference, which I am kinda shocked to see it happen so quickly that NW raised theirs already just only been over a year old. This should be a lesson to you all to know it happens and not to blow all your money, AD, and/or Zen so early on in this MMO (It's only over a year old and got many more years of progression and most likely more level cap increases).
I can only hope that in the future we can expect all of the players of NW to keep enjoying the game as much as I have and will continue to experience all the new content, classes, and races yet to come.

Asking a simple question about if paladins will be desired over clerics is not QQing, it's a question. This has happened before where some classes were not desired in pve and pvp. Someone else answered my question in a less brash manner about the rez ability.
Paladins are the true tanks? Yes in the D&D world which this game is based off of however Neverwinter is a world of it's own since they introduced GF's and GWF's years ago. I did have a concern about the rez ability and people acting snooty over DC's and grouping but now less concerned.
WOW is different than this game as it doesn't cost as much if you put money into it. For people that do put not just money but loads of grinding time and effort, it has a huger impact than those MMO's you mentioned.
Which I do agree and I have been playing NW since the game went live.. I am 99% free to play, I have bought only 1 PWE card one time for the 1st buyers pack for the extra character slot (of which will be the paladin) and have not spent another dime for the game.
I have grinded everything for my characters.. I used the other games as a reference to the Level cap, It happens in almost all MMO's and players should know to expect it, It happens..
I am only pointing out and correcting facts of D&D, the comparison of NW to the D&D world, and the fact that this game as an MMO has just started to grow and will be everchanging and adding new levels, content and classes.. Just because they didn't come out the wanted druid, monk, or any other class yet, doesnt mean we are not going to get them in the future..
Players complain, curse, and much worse on/at the developers of NW.. They NEED to realize that the Dev's can only do what they are paid and told to do by those above them at Cryptic, WoTC, and PWE..

The 4th edition (the one which this game is based upon) books do mention the Guardian Fighter and the Devoted Cleric, they are builds (which is just an automated choice of powers, like we get here) of the Fighter and Cleric classes.
In AD&D the paladin was a human-only thing and it was based around certain mild bonuses and a few spells there were countered by very strict restrictions (code, alignment, ecc...), but there was not really much that indicated it was a better tank than the fighter. Considering the strict minimum stats requirements (pretty much everwhere), with a stat roll and adjust system he had not much room (unless he had very high rolls) to specialize in tanking stats, whereas for a fighter it would be a lot easier.

Thanks so much for the answer. Still, it's strangely happening to me. Maybe I'll try dropping the subscription and renewing it to see if it tweaks something.
This has nothing to do with paladin I am just curious about these 2 questions.
I am at work so I did not have time to read all of these and will be watching the twitch feed here as well, but I am curious as to if all of the classes will be unlocked or if it will be like the PC version where they were unlocked with DLC.
Also will there be holiday events like the PC version.

I've just checked and the first edition of basic classes did not include the Paladin, it was added later as a sub-class.

Check your calendar dude. NW is 2 years old. (2 year is an expansion and level cap raise in that other MMO.)
