9/10. While I do enjoy instrumentals, a bit more in the way of vocals would not have been unwelcome. Still, a phenomenal piece.

I didn't know which song to choose, so I picked my favorite playlist and shuffleskipped a few times.

    Powerwolf - Sanctified With Dynamite

7/10. Metal is cool and the song is really good too but for me this stuff always feels a little bit monotonous. Maybe I've heard too much of it these last years.

Here's a song of my favorite band.

    Porcupine Tree - Lightbulb Sun
    DC Divine Oracle Faithful
HR Stormwarden Trapper / Stormwarden Combat
    GWF Swordmaster Destroyer
CW Master of Flame Thaumaturge / Spellstorm Oppressor
    TR Master Infiltrator Executioner
    SW Soulbinder Fury

I have to say 5/10 for Porcupine tree Lightbulb Sun. I like the music and tempo, but that guy's voice is almost monotone. Its horrible in my ears.

10/10 That song has soul. Any song that can get you through a rough time -- deserves to live on.

Here's one of my all time favorite "message songs".

In the 1960s, America suffered through one of the worst decades of our nation's history. We lost two great politicians, John F Kennedy and Robert Kennedy, and we lost the champion of the Civil Rights Movement, Dr. Martin Luther King. We lost hundreds of thousands of our boys and girls, mothers and fathers in the bloody shadows of the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Our nation's people were crying out for a voice, and that voice was heard when Elvis Presley grabbed a mic, echoing Dr. King himself, and finished his "Comeback Special" TV concert in 1968 by looking right into the camera and delivering this powerful performance with undeniable and unmatched soul and conviction. To me --- this was "The song" to take out of that decade. It expressed so much pain, in so few words ... and even offered a solution.

Its a song I think many around the world NEED TO SING TODAY.

    Korn http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CSJXle3LP_Q

    or

    Cypress Hill http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RijB8wnJCN0

    The above gets a 10/10.

Leslie West and Ozzie Osborne - MASTERS OF WAR.

    http://youtu.be/KYaEtijdSrg

Absolutely mind boggling cover of Bob Dylan's Master's Of War. Leslie just sings with such raw power and passion. He does justice to this great and always timely song. Was nice to hear Ozzie in CLASSIC shape. Two of the greatest pioneer hard rock voices in the same song, performing one of Bob Dylan's greatest lyrical works.

I think there's too much going on in this song. All Along the Watchtower is a supposed to be much more mellow. However Im a big fan of improv. So I'll rate this one a 7/10.

Since we are on Dylan... here's Leslie West's take on Blowing in the Wind.

Leslie is world renowned for making every note count on his guitar, and I just love listening to his Dylan covers, he puts so much soul into them. By the end of this one, you can tell he has the audience int he palm of his hand.

    The Chance...

Not many in the area can say they haven't been there. Used to drive past it every day when I went to college classes in Poughkeepsie. Now it's more like a once a week venture going past The Chance to play Magic the Gathering or have a night out.

Yep so now you all can stalk me and hunt me down. Good luck finding me. :p

10/10 due to a point being given for making me smile at the close to home reference.

However if we're going to do live performances from people with a lot of passion in every aspect of their music...

    Harry Chapin - W.O.L.D.

One of his faster and more likely to not be beaten to heck by the average crowd that seems to enjoy what they call metal, rap, pop or music which focuses on noise more than lyrics. :p

I'll rate that Harry Chapin song at 9/10. I love this kind of classic rock. 50s and 60s stuff can be really fun and make you remember a society that was totally different than it is today even though I wasn't around back then.

I found an AMV of one of my favorite more recent metal songs. Indestructible by disturbed.

Im not a country music fan, however, rarely the BEST a music genre has to offer can cross over genres and make a difference.

Glen Campbell wrote and performed so many songs, for himself and others, its impossible to gauge his footprint on country music.

His greatest contribution to the world however might be a song he wrote and performed for his wife, when he received a horrific diagnosis from his doctor, confirming he has Alzheimer's Disease. Realizing he will soon not be able to recognize his own family members ever again, he pens, then performs this last song in studio...

Now in final stage (Stage Six) of this terrible disease, the song has been released to the public as chosen by Campbell himself. If you know anyone with this disease, or have taken care of someone with various end stage illnesses, this song is going to probably hit home.

KUDOS TO THE REAL LIFE MUSIC BARDS... KUDOS TO THE DOCTORS WHO WILL FIND A CURE FOR THIS HIDEOUS DISEASE SOMEDAY... HOPEFULLY SOON.

Glen Campbell - I'm Not Gonna Miss You

**There are no paid actors or performers in this video, they are his core family members, save for his memories of other legendary bards and his doctor.

** Wonder how much of us consists of memories? This video tells.

Rest in Peace 10/25/14 Scottish musician and musical hero Jack Bruce... the King of the modern day Rock n Roll Bass Guitar Sound.

Turn your sounds all the way up... Listen to Leslie West on guitar, Jack Bruce on bass, and Corky Laing on drumsplay it hard. Am I the only one who burned this LP down to dust? Hehe I can't be.
