So what should the new Class Forum for Warlocks be called?

I'm thinking "The Nine Hells"

Everything, just separate us from those in this subforum.

For now; "The Library" *the old mage winks with an uneasy grin*

However folks, please do feel free to also post your suggestions and wishes for a warlock forum of their own.

    Safe travels,

I certainly hope SWs get a separate forum.

GWFs and GFs coexist uneasily in the Barracks. It kind of makes sense to combine them, since they share some powers and a similar playstyle, but so many threads have titles like "Best weapon enchant?" with 15 replies on best GWF enchants, until finally the OP returns to the thread to note they're actually talking about their GF.

SWs and CWs have no overlapping paragons or powers, and there is too great a chance of useful SW threads falling off the first page due to CW threads, or vice versa.

As for names: someone suggested "The Cabal" in a Preview forum thread.

    The Coven.
Critics breed growth, apologists (fanboys) breed stagnation.

The german forums actually have their SW class forum already.
The name more or less translates to 'The Hellmaw'.

The Nine Hells is really the best choice, at least for an old-school DnDer like me. :)

If I had the ability to rename, add, remove, etc. forums, I would have done this and probably too much more. Sorry. Nay, we need to wait till Monday until we know more about getting any needed forum changes.

Aye, will do. I've been prefixing all warlock threads in here, moved or posted, with [Warlock] so they will be easily managed in the future. Indeed! I will add it to the upcoming Scourge Warlock section for the Class Guides Sticky. Thanks!

My suggestion "The Nine Halls" You’ve got to be a little discreet.

I posted this in a similar thread a few weeks ago, but my suggestion is "The Shadows" since it ties in to the darker theme without the potential of offending anyone and corresponds to our "shadowslip" movement ability.

The problem with using a variant of hell/hells is that Scourge Warlocks can also draw their powers from the Far Realm, instead of just making a pact with a devil. The Coven or The Shadows both work, because they can be applied to either source of power.

Yeah i'd rather see Nine Hells if anything then. Doesn't sound Warlocky at all. Thoughts?

Except the fact that nly the Scourge Warlock has a pact with the Hells. The others (presumably coming someday) would not be fitting.

I don't like it. But really I wouldn't care if they called it 'The Rocking Chair.' I never look at individual forums, just 'New Posts.' Other than that, I use search.

A better name would be one for the place where the Altar (which really isn't an altar, anyway) stands.. Something like 'The Retreat,' or 'The Sanctuary,' or even 'The Darkness.'

    Or how about 'The Rack.'

EDIT- Altars suggest worship. That's not what's going on here. These are Pacts. Sacrifices may be involved, but not altars, IMO.

Altars can be something to be feared, not just what you think of from a Western point of view. Look up what the Aztec's use Altars for.

I know what they were used for. But that's not what Scourge Warlocks use them for. Scourge Warlocks use them for praying. Like GWFs, TRs, and GFs.

Protective circles and braziers, that's something else.

Don't matter to me.. just tossed my thoughts out there.

I don't care if they call it the pet food section, let's get all the SW info switched over here so we can get on with it.

I honestly wasn't expecting our own forum. Well, guess it's a good thing we have it now then, time to get to work on what we can set up for it.

Altars can go either way, such as for sacrificing or on the other hand for praying - divinity. The first thing that comes to mind for altar though is for a cleric/priest/religious aspect.
Banshee (Devotion Justice Oathbound Paladin) - Crueladevil (Soulbinder Damnation Scourge Warlock) - Sindania Balefire (Master Infiltrator Trickster Rogue)

For me thanks to a metalhead college roommate the first thing that pops into my head is
Altar of sacrifice, curse of the damned
    Confronting the evil you dread
Coalesce into one your shadow and soul
Soon you will meet the undead
probably why I don't have a problem with the title of the forum category.

True, but even in sacrifice it is associated with worship. Scourges may or may not worship.. but they certainly do not worship the dark entities with whom they form pacts, and sometimes enslave.

Anyway.. I expect they have named it and that they will stick with it. It'll do, I guess.

Actually I think the worship part is just from our reference frame. I think it could just be considered a device used to contain a victim for sacrafice in ritual magic.
