You should list what ones you see most , I had a quick look and there doesn't seem to be a list or guide for Neverwinter , by the way BiS means Best in Slot or the very best armor ,weapon ,enchantment or companion.

Thanks so much for telling me what BiS means! I tried for a long time to figure it out but the meaning would not come to me.
I keep seeing "CC" come up a lot and it is not ringing a bell in my mind as well.
It would be cool if someone could put together a "sticky" list of commonly used abbreviations and acronyms for this forum. I am not knowledgeable enough to create it - a bit of a newb myself. It should probably be alphabetized by abbreviation/acronym and include everything from character classes (TR, GWF, CW, etc.) to build types (can't remember any due to being a newb) to campaigns, and more.
If someone were to start a thread with the ones they know and use a lot, others could add to the thread to build the list into something wonderful.

CC is the most commonly the shorthand for Crowd Control (stun, mesmerize, or any other ability designed to interrupt or make idle another computer or player controlled character).
I fell like its a little hard to start a list because every class has their own acronyms for their specific skills, like SS could be Split Shot for a HR where as SS would be Sure Strike for a GWF. Literaly anything can have an acroynmy so it all can depend on the discussion but we could name a few.
PVE - person vs enviorment
PVP - person vs person
GG - Gauntlgrym
IWD - Icewind Dale
DR - Dread Ring
PF - Phantasmal Fortress
DS - Dread Spire
WF - Witch Fen
DF - Death Forge
BoA - Binds on Account

BoP - Binds on Pickup

Never saw someone say "CS" for critical strike or "CC" for critical chance.
It's commonly referred just as "crit" for both I think.
And Armor Penetration is "ArP". "AP" means Action Points.

"BiS" means "Best in slot" or "Best in socket", and typically refers to the best piece of equipment or best type of enchantment one can use in a particular piece of gear/enchantment slot.
Others that are generally used:
GF = guardian fighter
GWF = great weapon fighter
DC = devoted cleric
HR = hunter ranger
TR = trickster rogue
CW = control wizard
SW = scourge warlock (new class coming w/ module 4)
AS = astral shield or astral seal (usually the former, as it is a key DC skill for keeping tams healed/alive)
stone = one of various type of Ioun stone companions - a special type of companion that doesn't attack or have any powers, and only applies its own stats toward the character that has it summoned
GS = gear score - the rating of a character that includes things like stats, gear, enchantments, boons, etc
CTA = call to arms - a special version of existing skirmishes, typically with other special rewards attached to it
gg = good game - can be meant sincerely or to deride others, so be careful of the context it is used in / can also mean Gauntlgrym.
gj = good job
gtg = got to go (I have to leave) or good to go (ready for whatever is next)
+ = ready (you'll often see someone just type in this if you're on a team looking to do multiple runs of a dungeon in Gauntlgrym or during a CTA
Gnarl or GR = Gnarlroot caves in Feywild - 1st area lair
WF = Witchfen - 2nd area lair
Cela = Tower of Celdaine - 3rd area lair

Also if you're in icewind, dv can mean dwarven valley as well as dread vault.
Continuing with Icewind Dale...
IWD = Icewind Dale
BG = Biggrin's Tomb, (A weekly lair in Icewind Pass - gives 50 Konig coins and about 1200 black ice)

Well, if that's the case, its rarity seems to be odd in that I've only gotten about one per week... it grants 1900 raw black ice, a r5 black ice enchant, and some other stuff, so it's really good if it can drop more often...

99% sure it's a weekly job. When you get it only once a week, and usually on the same day, it's a good sign that it's a limited event. For me, it's availability seems to cycle on Sundays (ie: all my characters get it that day and then never see it again the rest of the week until the next Sunday).

Just like to add, "NW" is the official acronym for Neverwinter while "NW:O" and "NWO" are ones used commonly by the communities. Added to the wiki as well as added some external links to the game acronyms.
Although in Neverwinter CC is not much in the way of crowd control, the slows and stuns are so short in comparison to other games, I played one before this game that CC locked something down for a full 60 seconds and there were different types, like some classes could cc a droid others did biologicals. But yeah in a group that had 2 - 4 people that could CC something meant you locked down certain mobs killed the lesser ones asap then focused on the other ones one at a time so that ideally by the time the CC had elapsed you were down to one or two big mobs to hammer on.
In Neverwinter you get like 5 seconds of actual control if you are lucky. Not saying it doesn't help but often all CC does in this game is allow you to move away or drink a pot before you'd get hit and die. So to me crowd control in this game isn't the same as it is in others and the way they do the mobs i'm thinking it should have at the very least longer lasting slows to get you a bit more time to do things other than dodge til you run out of stamina.
Often there is so much red on the floor you can't NOT get hit by something and I just love getting stunned an have 3+ red attacks hit me, as a CW that usually means i'm dead. Recently there was a moment when I got hit by something that stunned me several seconds and in that time red after red popped under my feet and yep as I thought I was down and dead nothing I could do. I think maybe this game should not focus so much on stuns but on slowing enemy movement and slowing down how often they attack I personally think that will be something that would make this game work better from a CC type stand point.
There is so much frost and ice in this game that I really the the CW should get more AoE slow downs and slow attacks of mobs and let the new SW take care of DPS, but i'm also all for people keeping the tried and true AoE CW too, the dps build still looks like it will be useful in the future although for now its really nice being a CW lol.

99% sure it's a weekly job. When you get it only once a week, and usually on the same day, it's a good sign that it's a limited event. For me, it's availability seems to cycle on Sundays (ie: all my characters get it that day and then never see it again the rest of the week until the next Sunday).
A new one I have seen is omw= on my way (basically party members letting everyone in the group know they are either switching to the main instance or heading toward the designated rendevouz point)
Hammerstone Queen is a weekly quest, based on my experience. Just need that hammer drop.

I also alphabetized everything.
