I found the code in the morning, but did not redeem it until close to 3 PM PDT. It worked, I received the title and a Vanguard Pack, for the second hidden code. I did not know about the first until I saw the winners posted. :) This alone makes it fun. But a chance for a past CTA reward is cool, too.

Can anyone tell me what they look like, so I can at least have a small chance at maybe finding one?

Are you familiar with mouseover text? Like the captions on XKCD and various other web comics, where if you hover your mouse over the image, it pops up some text for you to read.

In the Neverwinter posts, all you have to do is look for anything that looks like a link and hover your cursor over it. It's not all that secret.

So, is everyone getting the impression that without a change to the approach in how these are posted, only people who are at computers with ARC installed in a brief window after news posts are made are ever going to have a chance at redeeming anything?

If you absolutely must limit the giveaway of consumable packs, please find a way of de-coupling that gift from the contest entry and make the contest entry open for at least 24 hours from time of posting. Give all your players a fair shake, not just a select few of them whose schedules happen to line up.

Well codes should be a bit harder to find actually, I was searching entire text to find hidden and encrypted within entire text or pics code. Imagine my surprise when I moved my mouse over one of the hyperlinked text
Or make it a bit harder by:
    1) Finding the code that will automatically send mail with specifed question to the player who redeemed code
    2) Player will have to answer the question and send send it to specified address (recipient should be some sort of script that will select only correct answers-question might be related to blog so people will actually go and read it also there might be more than one question)

I wanted to take time to thank everyone for their feedback. I did want to clarify that the Hidden Code promotion is something that we are currently testing out and the way the codes will be hidden/given out will be changing (along with the items that are given out). We're excited for this opportunity to reward all of our players and we hope to expand the promotion in the near future.

Thanks again for providing us with this valuable feedback, and keep it going, we're always trying to improve.

I honestly didnt even know about the codes until I saw announcements on FB that the winners were being announced... and then I figured it was a one time thing. Then I saw it pop up again, and came here, finally caught on, and now I know.

Admittedly I havent been foruming as much as I had been months ago. Kinda got burnt out and distracted with other things, so I'm not as int he know as I used to be. Makes me wonder about others out there that are even less keyed in. (Or hell, maybe I just missed big blazing letter about it. That's been known to happen XD).

Either way, its one of those things that I'll probably never be able to hit it with the current setup unless I start lugging my laptop to work with me (eastern standard time here). But I think its a cool idea and should definitely continue in some form or another.

So, if you enter the code and get a "This code is incorrect" response does that mean it's out of redemptions?

    If entered correctly, yes.

I think its a pretty cool thing they're trying here. I just hope that they decide to put some hidden codes in different timezone posts so that other people will get a chance to do it too. For example, I live on the East Coast ... of Australia and found the code during the morning but couldn't attempt to put it in until 10 hours afterwards when I got home from work (expired I guess). If they are always deployed at the same time I have no chance to participate.

Having a blog of my own, I know it is possible to write up a complete post as a draft and schedule it to be posted publicly automatically at whatever time you choose so it doesn't even require someone to physically be awake at the weird hours doing this. Not sure about the system Arc uses though, maybe they don't have that functionality? I might give it one or two more tries then it's back to skipping uninteresting news items for me.

Edit: Simple alternative - instead of having "100" or so uses etc. Why not just keep the code active for 24 hours? That would be the easiest I would think.

They should keep it as is. People that aren't up early enough are the Americans, it makes it easier for the rest.

Nice. Way to make it all so closed, to so many there. Real nice.

Well, I see this is utterly useless to even ever try to bother with. Going away now. =>>=

So I redeemed the code yesterday and arc accepted it. I've yet to receive any mail or items from claims. Was I not eligible because I claimed one of the codes from last week?

The way it appears to work is, if you claimed the stuff already,
on a previous blog, then you wont get it again.
You will get an entry to the draw for the companion only,
as you have already got all the other stuff.
Pretty sure that's the way it works.

Its really very easy, just mouse over the whole of the blog, a sentence at a time.
In other words just move your mouse, so that the onscreen cursor,
    passes over the words.
Eventually you will mouse over the "key word", as in the word that when moused over,
brings up hidden text, which is the code.
This word is always a different shade of white to the bulk of the blog.

When you find it, you will then realise just how easy it is.
    Good luck. :)

So I'm one of the winners of the ghost paladin, I have sent the claim message a couple of times with a receipt notification and it doesn't appear to have been received and I have yet to get a response...The only difference between the messages was quotes around "Contest Winner".

Thanks for the tips. I finally saw a blog post today before the text about the code being hidden was crossed out, but it looks like I am still too late to find the code. I moused over the whole post multiple times and still no code showing. Oh well, next time :D

My biggest question is though... when you do find the code, where can you redeem it? Does that also show when you mouse over and find the code?

Thanks for the help and good luck to all!

When you do find a code, it has to be redeemed in the Arc Interface.
In the top left hand corner, click on the icon and you will get the dropdown tab,
with the redeem feature on it. :)

Edit: Forgot to say that my post you quoted, was about an earlier code.
The code you have been looking for, was hidden in a different way this time.

Has every news got hidden code?

Or it is always announced or how do you figure out there is in one?

Not every news article has one and it is never announced (anymore).

The only notice players receive that there is one is the message, which is later crossed out, at the bottom of the blog which informs players that there is a hidden code within the article.

    Example:

Hidden within this blog is a code that can be redeemed for in-game items. If you can find it, you can redeem the code in the Arc Client. Those who redeem it will also be entered for a chance to win a previous CTA item! Act fast, there are a limited number of redemptions and once they are gone you'll have to wait another week for your next chance at finding a hidden code. There are no more redemptions remaining for the hidden code, be sure to check back next week for more chances to win.
