Cryptic Launcher down?

yethensyethens Member Posts: 32 Arc User
edited May 2014 in General Discussion (PC)
I've been trying to launch the game for quite some time now but every time I try to launch it from the Arc launcher it says:

"Connection Problem - Unable to establish connection to Patch Server. Please check your Internet connection. If problems persist, please contact Technical Support".

As nothing is wrong with my Internet connection I wonder if more ppl are having the same problem.

Same here. The launcher attempts to reconnect 5 times, then error message.

Well, the thing is, a friend of mine in the US is online and playing. No problems at all patching and logging in for her.

So did my friend, sitting on Skype listening to her play. On the other hand, she gets to hear me swear over not being able to play.

Hi all! Yes, I am from Europe, Germany and have the same connection issue. Wondering why so few people are reporting this- maybe the majority is still in game and thus not experiencing it?

Hey all. It appears to be a regional ISP issue. Some players are able to log in and others can't get past the launcher. Please hang tight and hopefully your ISP can resolve it shortly. We'll keep monitoring for any potential issues.

This time it's not because of a network issue on our side, but an issue with some players' ISPs. Hopefully, it should be resolved shortly.

because its regional... when you live in an area (country... germany, swiss, sweden etc) where your data has to go through a certain datacenter which happens to be run by congent, its down...

And you're using completely outdated information to prove your point. Last post in that thread was made over three months ago--well before the TS forums went read only, even. That's why you don't use necrothreads to make your argument. I'm sure that the engineers have done their homework to find out what's causing the issue.

The fact that some players can log in and others cannot would point to the fact that this is NOT a PWE ISP issue.

I've got the same problem with logging in.

P.s. is everyone who is having issues also from NL.
May be a backbone issue with one of the hops on the route to the server which is a central hub for communication...

Anyhow it's not our ISP since from other screenshots I can see we have different ISP's and I doubt suddenly allot of ISP's developed the same issue.

Yea im from the netherlands and my ISP is KPN.

I however seriously doubt this issue is on the players side though...

I'm with XS4all which shares some of the infra of KPN since it's an affiliate.
But I agree with you I find it unlikely that this has to do with our ISP.

2 tracerts both showing timeouts after the first congent hop can be found in this thread http://nw-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?573621-Disconnecting-Look-Here!/page9 in the bug-report forum, both made within an hour or so after the disconnect happened...

an 'actual' tracert right now looks more like the one magenubbie posted...
