Salvaging and Dailies should Not give Rough AD!

Does anyone else seem to have this problem? I always seem to end up with way more Rough AD on my main PVE character with profs and my ALT PvP TR It seems like I always end up with way more rough AD then I can even manage due to salvaging pvp T1 items I can no longer sell..(Not to mention all blues are now worthless and pvp is for literally nothing) seriously Cryptic do you have to hinder the amount of diamonds received for playing a different aspect of the game for us legitimate players? I can understand professions but Salvaging + PvP/PVE Dailies should give you direct diamonds IMO. Anyone else have any thought on the matter?

Respectfully,
Pestilence.

I feel you, I have 400k still from the TYMORA event and with everything im doing stacking on top of i will always have this much. Just make it 50k refine the 25k. I though it was going to go up when fay wild hit

This restriction is in place to prevent inflation. It may seems hindering to you, but for the economy of the game is very useful.
I too end up with more rough AD than I can refine sometimes so I slow down a bit, and skip a few dailies or DDs.
Speaking of the economy and inflation, I think we should have a few gold sinks as well, but I am getting off topic here.

I have reached the 24K daily limit every day since the Tymora event, and while I understand the reasoning it is a bit irritating. Fortunately there are enough ways to make refined AD, so this is nothing more than a minor irritation.
    Hoping for improvements...

With the Waukeen Treasure chest and 256,000 rough diamond possibility, it will get worse.

....dailies giving unrefined is part of the entire concept of the refining system.

Workaround: dump your items in mail or guild bank and salvage them on other alts. Then pull your AD back to your main with the Zen-AD exchange as and when you need it.

Note. I do not support the current system at all. But I am a pragmatic and know that after such a large commitment by Cryptic to BoP and Rough AD, it will be going nowhere (in fact it will probably get much worse).

let's not get too crazy over that. I really don't think 256K AD are going to be that frequent of an occurrence. Even if you get them, 256K AD for free is hardly a bad thing, even if they are rough.

. . . . . Yeah, I make more than that a week when I want. 256k really isn't that much, especially considering the costly AD sinks like the mount and companion upgrades as well as transmuting costs and removing enchants, among the myriad of other AD sinks like the Wondrous Bazaar.

It would not be good for Zen BUYER if the salvage were to go directly to refined AD. It would cause the price of Zen to 500 max all the time (since that is hard coded)

It is for economic balance. It is good for all players. A player may have a great 1-2 day run and can just refine 24k a day for the rest of the week come back again (weekend players) If you have multiple characters, you can transfer items and such and refine and spread out the wealth and transfer it back to the single character.
To grow old is inevitable, to grow up is optional.
Please review my campaign and I'll return the favor.

Even though I barely make 24k rough AD per day (anything near 8k is a godsent for me), I can understand the limitations for refining them. It's for the good of the economy.

How about if you have over x amount of rad the limit is increased? At this rate I have enough useless rad, I would have to NOT do any leadership or dd bop>salvage and it'll still take over a year to refine all this. I'm even playing different characters for dd and they maxed out 24k a day too. Like most players, I'm drowning in rad and want to be saved. lol

If the point of the limit is to reduce the amount of AD flowing into the economy... Then raising it for those with the most of it would be counter-productive.

So how hard did you farm the Tymora boxes to get the 9 million or so rough AD you'd need for that to be true?

Most players do NOT have 8.5 million rough astral diamonds lying around (enough to refine for a year) if you even do. I would wager, in fact, that most players have never hit the refine limit even once.

what do you want them to give? gold? enchantments? portable alters?

they aren't giving you refined AD for salvaging. or raising the cap. not happening for MANY many valid reasons.

I can maybe see giving refined AD for dailies since you can't exploit them (as much).

    but otherwise, no. just no.

LOL. :) Not sure how this one's going to be. Sounds similar, but since the dropped bag is also a currency now for the bigger boxes. Will have to see.

I've been leveling leadership on one char for a long time, still at level 12. Getting more chars would also need a lot more AD x-x.

    Thanks for the tip anyways!

At the moment I've got 31 characters. Every day I spend about 30 minutes (once a day) cycling through each invoking and setting Leadership tasks. Once a week I combine all the AD and wards from 7 coin chests. About 5 of those characters I care about. Those I geared up a bit and use to run foundry missions when they have Lord Protector's and Rhix's quests. Or sometimes the PvP quests. If I'm bored I'll cycle through them a second time at the end of the day. But not always.

This last week I cached in my stuff a bit early. Wanted to buy Greater Bags of Holding while they were on sale. Bought 7 of them. Could have bought a couple more, but I wanted to save some AD for emergencies. And I sent some AD to a family member through the AH.

31?! How many acc's you have? You just invoke or u do professions too? I'm finding doing professions on 8 chars starting to become mind numbing.

Its just one account. I converted AD to Zen and bought character slots when they were on sale. And yes, I do run leadership on them. About half of them are 60/20 with level/leadership now.

I did get burned out for about a week. Took a break. I had been trying to keep up with each 3 times a day. Since then I came back and dropped down to primarily once a day. I got a good pattern going, so it only takes me about 30 minutes to run through all of them. I don't worry about min/maxing each character. Just find something I can set them all too.

The main thing is to keep the celestial coins up for a chance at a Coalescent Ward each week. They easily sell for 100K refined AD. And since most of those characters I never intend to play... I don't have to worry about gemming them up.

Well, games up... time to play.

The restriction on refining is to tell people who play too much to go outside.

Seriously. c'mon, how many manhours are you putting into the game that you are day by day getting 24,000 RAD? I don't get even close to that. Then again, I don't really run dungeons or do skirmishes so maybe that's the issue.

All of my AD comes from AH transactios.

Yeah, most of my profit does come from dungeons/skirmishes. For a dungeon it usually takes 1 hour, skirmishes are 30 minutes, but that's just with pugs.
You could get more AD by taking on both rhix's and lord's pvp quests. Doing just 4 quick ones will net you 12k?.

Gold sinks? I think there is more then enough gold sinks.. Auction house 10% Cut? Transmuting costs? Seriously the only way to win in this game it seems is to do it un-legitimately, and the only thing they are hurting is the legit players with less money. Like the other guy said, if you even attempt to farm on your main, you have more Rough AD then you even know what to do with what a joke.. More gold sinks what a crock.
