As it stands now LS doesn't have competition in PvP.
Even if that is true, its really unfair of you to speak for the entire PvP community. And if you just put your head in sand and say that there is nothing to be done about it, then you're only making the situation worse.
We can digress into a whole pay to win discussion as the game is only 6 months old and people already with Perfects and rank 10's in every slot.
It's easily possible for people to have this stuff without paying for any of it, and if you think that LS members are all decked out in Rank 10s you're sorely mistaken.
no Non pay to win player can compete with that regardless of what points they attempt to validate themselves with. 15 Million AD per Rank 10 in pure AD cost..you can diffuse some of that by doing some dungeons but nobody has the patience to run 256 dungeons to get 256 vorpal shards to make 1 Perfect Vorpal. Some players having Perfect Weapon / Armor / Rank 10's / BiS on every character .... no normal average spender, let alone, a free to play player, can compete with that.

I do not think much needs to be said or a tournament needs to be hosted to demonstrate who is the top dog. that line has been well established.

12 slots x ~10,000,000 per perfect / 24,000 max diamonds farmed per day = 5000 days =13 years of astral diamond farming.
On dragon most perfects go for 6-8 million AD. Some of our tr's have enough AD to get rank 10s but see no need b/c it makes no dif. We run CN a lot to the point someone stayed awake for more than 24 hrs farming...
Also, you missed the part where gctrl said most of the guild doesn't have rank 10s which is true. I have rank 7s and 8s and a normal soulforged, but I still have fun pvping even against ppl with 7 tenes
24k is the built in limit for exchanging rough astral diamonds on all servers.
.... then you need to learn how to farm more; for instance, you could do dungeon runs sell drops on AH. You are talking about refinement. There is an auction house, which fuels the economy and allows us to make money. The refinement is like a pension imo, a bonus for logging in everyday:) I have 4 alts so I just put all the AD into one account making 24x4~100k AD per day

If you're F2P (like I am), this is true. Here are your best farming opportunities for AD.
1) CN. Can be done in 30 mins or less with the right group.
2) Dwarf King's Crypt (GG T2). Takes a bit longer, but you can easily get in 3-5 runs. Sold two items in the past two weeks that dropped there for 2.3 million AD.
You can also work the AH. Flip items you find for cheap, or combine and sell enchantments. A TR in our guild has all R9s, P. Vorpal and G. Soulforge and this is all he does to make AD. He hates farming.
As a member of LS, I can tell you that while gear is a slight factor, there is a lot of skill and theorycrafting that goes into our builds. We have hosted tournaments on PTR so we are all equally geared, and the outcome is no different. People on our server use gear as an excuse however, just yesterday while we were playing on our fresh lvl 60s with 8-9k GS we were still able to win. While I'm not in charge of the tournament, I believe we are hosting this tournament for fun, not for showboating, because we are excited about seeing what new guild have to offer to the current pvp meta.
Half the time our best games are vs each other in the guild (for instance, insomniac's photo) because ppl on our server refuse to do premades with us... We just wanna play:)
+1 This tournament is nothing more than getting the chance to play decent pvp games.
Why charge an entry fee then? I'm sure most competitive pvp guilds would compete just for bragging rights and could care less about a prize.
We wanted to give people who weren't first place a prize too. Just because you don't win first does not mean you are not talented. Also, the entry fee discourages non-serious teams to join. It wouldn't be a very fun tournament for a team that has not prepared/fresh lvl 60s if they are constantly facerolled. We do not want people to have a bad experience in pvp, and I feel like getting constantly facerolled by teams who only pvp would do that.

Never claimed to speak for the entire community. However the PvP community is small enough where we all generally know each other and know who the best ones are. As it stands now, there is no competition for LS, Probably your guys best bet is to split guild and compete against each other. But this was all under the pretense of testing out abilities and gear and specific 1v1 scenarios. In a more competitive match, we shall see...
I have no beef with LS from my interactions. But I play(ed) on Mindflayer and did not see the day to day of LS on Dragon unless I specifically logged to my 2 characters there , and none were 60....

As a member of LS, I can tell you that while gear is a slight factor, there is a lot of skill and theorycrafting that goes into our builds.
I see this opinion floated around a lot, especially by folks with top notch gear. While I'd agree that skill, teamwork and theorycrafting are more important, gear is not just a slight factor when determining potential PvP success.
I don't want to tell you guys how to run your tourney, but how about considering a gear score/enchant level restriction? Say 10k with nothing better than regular enchants (Vorpal, Soulforge, Tenebrous, etc)
I hear a lot of folks clamoring for gear score tiers in PvP. Seems to me that this would be a sure way to prove your guilds' superiority.

Since the merge I haven't seen any in matches, when you do a search for the guild, it doesn't exist.
Another mass ban wave happened with the merge?

When you do a search for any guild and no members are online that can invite, it will not show up.
Since the merge... is has been the middle of the night, followed by the North American school/workday. Bit soon to be making assumptions, no?
