I don't - I just sell them for almost nothing. I only identify blues, because I don't want to spend 115 AD to ID something that's worth 9 silver. Am I nuts, long-term?
As long as you have enough gold to meet your needs, no you don't have to.

I used to. I now only do on occasion if I think the item may have a nice appearance to transmute to. Usually only ID neck, chest, and helmets. Now, I just mainly ID blues to either sell on the Auction or vendor for coins.

I usually only ID level 60 greens under 2 circumstances:
1. I have a few bound greater ID scrolls and they're just taking up space.
2. I have a companion that I haven't upgraded their gear yet, and I just so happen to have gotten a piece that they could use...

As far as selling blues on the AH, I think there's a market of blue drops for level 60s, which I assume is coming from 60th level toons that want to gear up before instances/Feywild.

The problem, IMO, is that there are some very nice blue pieces, but they don't carry the GS rating that many people are going for. They've also greatly increased in number since Feywild was released.
I find them to be a good source for equipping my companions. A few of them have unique looks, which is also nice.

I only I.D. the Blues (unless something looks like it will look cool) and sell the Greens un-ID'd. The Blues I usually ID and Vendor (at LVL 60 they are worth like 33 Silver, which adds up FAST). They keep me in Alchemy Reagents.

Lol greens - how about a button on each bag
Sell Junk & the options to set junk to any grade of items
Greens are just a waste of time, & bag space!!! (Ok they are they to sell more bags!!!)
I dont even pick them up. I have no use for gold anymore. I make more than enough in maintenance mode, logging in to pray and crafting in gateway as I wait for a new class or a paragon path to be released.

This, and deleting them, are good suggestions, as at 60, a silver is useless. I have some blues up for sale at the AH, but if they don't sell I'll just go back to vendoring or using them to equip companions. I really like the idea of not picking up the greens at all. It's a little counter intuitive, but think of the bag space I'd save...
Incidentally, I think there should be a vendor button for "sell green, un-ID'ed trash" as having to click each one is a pain.
I pass on all greens, and most companion enchants because they sell like HAMSTER on the AH and take up bag space. I id blues solely for their appearance potential, and if it sucks, then vendor it.

I ID blues only. I pass on greens in dungeons but will pick them up in zone since I'm only 20sec from a merchant anyway.
I identify everything before I vendor it, and that's why I'm not one of those people who whines about how much gold pots/health kits cost, or how impossible it is to get 5 gold before level 20.
Seriously, I've never had a problem with having enough gold for a mount at 20, or for potions or skill kits or profession vendor stuff. And I've got tons of it to spare. Yeah, I understand if you're trying to save up AD for something it might seem counterproductive to spend AD on ID scrolls just to vendor stuff, but that gold adds up fast and you can turn said gold into AD pretty quickly on the AH (buying companions, mounts, or profession stuff and selling it), or use it to buy stuff people are offering in Trade. Not identifying stuff is what doesn't make sense to me.

Green L60 items sell for ~10 silver.
A Greater ID scroll is 125AD and 1000AD ~ 1g = 100 silver so 125AD ~ 12.5 silver. Seems like a bad deal to me.

Me, too. I just had my first Feywild "leave the greens on the ground" experience, and it was really quite freeing. 45 minutes of FW dailies nets me about 1-2 gold of blues, and more healing potions drop (plus from Leadership) than I use.

Oh, I ID'd everything below 60. I've still never had more than 2.5-3g at level 20, though. Not sure how people have 5g then.
(Ended up not mattering, of course, since I had account-unlock mounts. Bought a cheap horse at the start, saved up AD->zen for a fancy horse during the launch sale.)

I have ceased to identify level 60 greens. I was doing so during the Call to Arms event, but it was just too much stuff in the long run. I still pick them up and vendor them for a tenth the value though. I get enough scrolls from drops to cover the blues, some of which have been good for companions and/or to designate as stop-gap equipment for characters coming on 60.
Lower level items where the scrolls are less expensive, I don't mind occasionally buying scrolls if I run out. But I seem to rarely run out.

I bought the occasional scroll for pre-60 items, too. It's only post-60 that this has seemed to make less sense.

Lvl 60 greens? Only if I need companion gear.
I don't even see it as worth selling, because I make plenty of gold for my needs via lvl20 Leadership tasks...but I often find it difficult to not pick a lot of stuff up, as they're in my bloody way visually (during a fight, sometimes). I just Discard them later.

I pick up and identify green items up to level 59, but lvl 60 - no way. I have around 250G - no need for more, but I can use every AD I have - and wasting them on ID scrolls is just silly, as the scroll effectively cost more as the green item would give.

I don't think I'm psychologically capable of not picking up blue items, but this is spot on.
