    It's genuine.

I may not agree with someone, I may think they are not providing the level of service I expect, or are demanding an unreasonable level of service from myself. I may think the comment someone has made is silly, or even juvenile beyond words, or worthy of ridicule.

But that doesn't mean I wish them ill in any way at all.

So I end my post with a genuine "All The Best".

People who know me IRL can attest that I tend to use it verbally as well (I also tend to use "take care" a lot as well), when parting from someone; it may not be out of the "Customer Service 101 Handbook", but my boss has only ever received positive feedback from the customers I have dealt with. It is my experience that customer don't like "copy and paste" scripted answers; most of them are smart enough to see the insincerity there.

It was something already in my conversational tool-set, I adopted in e-communications as well.

    All The Best

I don't doubt your sincerity, but when I look at your name "redneckronin", I assume you are southern. There are some southern phrases like "Bless your heart" that sound entirely kind, but are actually a disguised insult. If you say "All the Best" is a genuine sentiment, than I believe you. I can't help but to be initially suspicious though.

Definitely need the ability to do offline editing.... I'm going into acute foundry withdrawal at this point and I don't think I have much longer to live...

That was kinda of a reverse racism there in your comment.. There are rednecks all over the US. Sad explanation of how you profile southern people if you ask me..

I really like the Foundry-Community. No one is loosing the head.

I don't want to know what would going on if the normal game is offline for many hours. People would burn down the forum. ;)

Nice try. I am not a racist. I mentioned nothing about race in my comment. Assuming where a person is from by there chosen screen name is not racial profiling. Regional profiling, sure. Racial profiling, no. Totally different demographics. Writing about common southern expressions is not racial profiling. Your accusation is a personal attack on me and unjustified.

Redneck isn't a race, so there is no racism here, but your assumption that "redneck's" must be from the south, is misguided and can certainly be considered offensive.

When we look at Facebook insights, there is a metric called "Engaged Users" which sometimes looks like it says "Enraged Users" if I am really tired. Causes about 0.68 seconds of panic every time I see that. :P

Hehe; yeah, although instead of panic I have another sensation. :P

Anything could be considered offensive. If you don't like pink bunnies, and if I decide to talk about pink bunnies, you could be offended. I am offended when someone pulls the race card on me when I have said nothing to deserve it. Different things offend different people. I can assume that someone reading my posts is not easily offended. That assumption to is likely misguided.

    ~chuckles~

My friends say similar of me. I have had customer service agents on the phone actually tell me they are confused as to if I am in a good mood or severely ticked off. If a company does something that inconveniences me, I tend to make sure they know it, while at the same time assuring the actual agent that I am talking to know that it is not his/her fault personally . . . even if it is. ~shrug~ Nothing beats a good smile and positive reinforcement when it comes to getting others to solve issues :)

You know, I was customer service for a long time. Then I was internal tech support. Then, I became a housewife. And, I have to tell you this for those who can't:

Differentiating between the rep and the company is greatly appreciated. We can't really tell you that on the phone, but it's a relief.

As it is, our bosses are always telling us to 'own the problem.' We have to apologize and take total responsibility for it happening. Even if the problem is an 'Act of God' like a snow storm shutting down one of our call centers. And, especially if that center is the only one that handles a particular issue.

It's my fault. I didn't design the system. I didn't advise them to have no redundancies. I didn't go out, design and weather control machine and cause snow in the hopes of making it so that the employees couldn't even FIND the front door. But, it's my fault.

I don't set policies. I don't have much say over how or when I help you. I don't get to decide what happens when the problem leaves my hands to go to another section of the building. This may be your fifteenth call and I'm just now hearing about it. But, it's my fault.

After two (or four, or six) hours of listening to everyone agree that it is? Some in the most profane manner possible? Being told that it's not my fault is almost tear inducing. We wish every customer was like you.

Making the Foundry button on the character selection page say offline, or even a green or red pip on it like the server status one would be nice about now :p

    No new tale to tell?

I am just glad I managed to push my latest quest out between the server reboot during maintenance and the foundry server outage. I've been working on it for the last 2 weeks and was really looking forward to play it.

Now instead of being annoyed I can't play it, I get to be annoyed by the a few minor errors that I can't fix... it's like an itch I can't scratch!

I am not stressing too hard about it tho, it will be up when it's up, and I don't really have the right to complain.

It is not like I am paying to play this game or anything.

Wow. Just wow. Total fail by Cryptic, lol.

Every day in this "open beta" *cough* release *cough* is another day making me even more happy that I don't give them a dime of my money. ;)

The Foundry is the only reason I'm here, and it looks like an entire weekend without it. The weekend where I thought I'd actually get to release my only, but massive quest so far since the sound was fixed. Bravo, Cryptic, Bravo. You sank to a new low in my book of incompetence.

    I'm not even American.

    I am English.

I was born in a caravan (trailer) park, was only allowed pets I could eat, and learned to fish, shoot, track animals and build snares etc while the rest of the kids my age learned how to sakteboard / rollerskate etc.

Some of my friends from my early post-education days thought all that made me sound a bit like a redneck, and that was the name I chose when I first started online gaming.

Oh, its way beyond time for that.

The only MMO "customer service" I have witnessed that was this bad was Silk Road, whose Customer Service model was "we have your money, we don't care what you think".

This is just about as bad.

    It's genuine.

So I end my post with a genuine "All The Best"

    All The Best

Mine has always been "Enjoy", even if its to someone in a argument with me..
short for "Enjoy or not, your choice"..
My son's was "Peace" whether you liked him or not, his way of getting under
    your skin...lol..

    Enjoy..
