Because it was already worse than a week ago on Friday.

Actually, no. The exchange rate was ten to fifteen points lower than on the Friday a week before.

Really? I saw nothing wrong on friday. Care to take the challenge? List 10 items that were extremely overpriced.

I just hope my friend Toy gets unbanned.

All she does is play the Auction House and supply our guild with money. It's just kind of what she enjoys to do on MMOs. The gameplay is more of a side event for her.

The thing is, she didn't engage in any exploiting. She had a crapload of AD from opening about 500 Nightmare Lockboxes a day. She posted stuff during the exploit phase on the AH and was surprised by how quickly it was being bought up, but she didn't have any idea what was going on. Hell, I wasn't even online during any of this mess. I woke up to 24 hours of downtime.

Still, she got caught up in a gigantic, fishnet style ban that obviously didn't look too much into individual cases. And knowing PW's terrible reputation for customer support, I doubt she'll be able to get her account back. She's a good friend and an integral member of my guild, so I'm probably going to have to quit if she does, as will the rest of my guild.

It sucks. I love the game. I just wonder how many other similar cases there are out there.

And yes, Dragon seemed a lot quieter today.

This smells like some serious BS to me right here. Im on dragon, ive seen your friend Toy's name spammed with the "has unlocked an inferno mount" sometimes multiple times a day. It got to the point my guild even started asking wtf was going on. Its noticeable to a lot of people.

Some things about what you said.

500 lockboxes a day? Where is she getting the keys from? PWE has a 100 dollar cap PER DAY on buying zen from their website, they will up it to 200 but you have to put in a ticket with their billing support. You can still buy game time cards and charge your zen balance that way but the cards also have a cap. So you're telling me that with a 10 pack of keys costing 1125 zen your friend toy is charging 200 dollars a day through services like payspan or paypal then adding another 362.50 in zen to total $562.50 A DAY?

LOL BS.

And lets also assume for a moment she is buying keys off the AH. The AH has a display limit of 400 listings total based on a specific search. Ive checked key prices EVERY DAY since the thursday of founders early access.

Theres never been more than 200 or 300 keys listed at any given time. Ive never searched for keys in consumables and had so many hits come back that the AH cuts off the top priced items. So your friend is not buying up 300 let alone just 100 keys off the AH daily to hit 500 lockboxes a day. If you cant charge your zen through paypal/gamecards so you can spend 560 dollars a day, how do you buy keys?

Easy, you buy zen off the astral exchange.

Who got permabanned recently? People who exploited the auction house to literally print astral diamonds for free.

Im not saying its a sure thing your friend participated in this exploit, but its looking awful fishy based on what you're saying. And let me head you off before you try and claim that she sold the items she got from the lockboxes for astrals on the AH and thats how she can afford 560 dollars worth of keys daily.

Mounts haven't been going for more than around 1.2 mil for days now. Up until people started using the AH exploit astrals were being exchanged at around 370/380. That means that if you claim your friend was selling the items she was getting from the boxes to in turn buy zen off the exchange and then buy more keys she was getting 20 keys per mount found. I know you can get leadership Heroes from the boxes, and the companions, and yes, some rank 7 enhancements. Still, at 370/380:1 even an item you find in that box worth 3 million astrals on the AH will barely bring you back 70 keys. SEVENTY.

And thats IF you can sell all this HAMSTER on the AH quickly enough so you can exchange your astrals for zen and then buy more keys.

BS dude.

For every 100 boxes your friend would need to have found 112 dollars of items to flip on the AH for astrals. Items worth 112 dollars in zen. Youre telling us that your friend was banned for opening 500 lockboxes a day, and in every 100 boxes she was finding 4mil worth of items that she was flipping consistently on the AH for enough profit to buy more zen and repeat the cycle?

She was finding AT LEAST one mount (or items equaling 1mil in astrals) per 25 boxes unlocked? Thats what youre telling people?

And then, allowing myself to go braindead for a moment lets assume she could sell every last thing she got in those boxes and received all the astrals back fairly quickly. Youre telling me she bought 56 THOUSAND zen off the exchange to have enough zen for another 500 keys the next day? And she was doing this for DAYS?

Hoookay bud.

I noticed the same, and two of the Twilight Nightmares I bought on the AH were from this player, too. I had even made a thread a few days back where I wondered why people were selling the Twilight Nighmare so cheap (1.5M AD) when it required an average of 250 boxes (2500 bars) to get one. It did look suspicious. There may of course be an innocent explanation, too, an I simply don't know what happened, but yes, it stood out and was noticeable. (Then again, it makes less sense that, if there had been something problematic going on, the player did this on the same character and account.)

Economy will be fine.

IN fact due to the time the broker was down, i bet more people went to instances because they couldn't fiddle in the broker - meaning more items.

And now that the end level exploiters are banned, it means prices will be cheaper then usual due to all the best stuff not being bought everytime a person thats exploited wants it.

Dragons just as Populated as always. And also the chat might be less because so many people spammed and are getting reported and blocked for 24hrs. People need to stop that spam.

Edit*

And it's so **** funny seeing all the exploiters complain about "how innocent they are" when in reality it would be very difficult to mistake a normal honest player with someone that exploits.

And:

500 boxes a day !? who even DOES THAT. How would you fund that?! And why would PWE BAN someone that was legitimately FEEDING them money.
No. You wouldn't ban such a money vending machine unless they were doing something illegal.

It would be an unfortunate mistake on their part and tbh the person should take their money elsewhere if they really are pumping in 500+$ a day. Hell pay me that and I'll give you boxes with shiny things in.

I play on the Dragon server. I haven't logged into the game since the exploit. I just seem to have lost the will to play. I keep reading the forums to see what is happening, but as for actually playing, it all seems rather pointless.

You think reading the forums is going to do anything but push you away from the game? The forums are toxic in every MMO in existence. If it isn't people screaming DOOM than it is Nerf this class cause it is OP.

I could care less about the exploits personally. It is just a game for crying out loud. I am not into using the AH for gear anyways as I think that is a cheesy way to gear yourself up.

The main thing that confuses me is why so many people want a full wipe. That will put WAY more people off of the game then a bunch of self entitled brats that are just mad that they can't control the AH market. People can exploit AD all day long and it has ZERO effect on the people that want to earn the gear in game.

Mindflayer does have a significantly less population. Is this good or bad ?

A Little of both.

Exploiters probably got suspended and / or banned.
Then you have AFK'ers and what not who got bored with a one dimensional game ( Since they pvp all the time )
And finally, the people turned off by Perfect World's handling of the situation, this is where I find myself.

I made this morning my final log in until either Wizards of the Coast pressures Perfect World into action (unlikely), or Perfect World gets it's act together and starts caring about this game and handling exploits and community problems with emphasis so they can retain their customer base, also Unlikely...

I love Dungeons and Dragons, one of the millions of players worldwide who have picked up a PHB or DMG and got lost in a world of fantasy and lore....

This game has the potential to be something huge...

All of Faerun... Red Wizards, Larloch, Drizzt, Arcane Brotherhood, Zhentarim, Church of Bane, Lolth, Menzoberranzan, Ched Nesad, Thibbledorf Pwent, Svirfneblin, Shar, Lady Alustriel, Artemis Entreri, Bregan D'aerthe ...............

All of a entire developed world is at Perfect World's fingertips and the amount of fail that is going on with it is the thing made of legends....

I truly hope Neverwinter becomes the game it possibly can be...

Mindflayer here too. Anyone who's saying the game population is the same either has his head buried under a rock or is being intentionally deceitful.

I've logged in several times after everything was said and done and all it took was hitting "O" to see that things were not well. My friend list has never been more empty. Same thing with my guild. I belong to one of the largest guilds in Mindflayer and we usually have around 3 epic dungeon groups running any given day, more so during the weekend. Last night we could hardly get one going, and the numbers on "G" were down by 60-75%.

You can deny the facts or claim good riddance all you want, but it is only going to hurt the game in the long run. Look at CO, most players there don't think it will last another year.

Well I play on dragon, I am logging in just to check if the AH if up, no desire to play until I realize what's going on.
Maybe lot of player had the same idea.
Funny is, I will prefer an empty server of non exploiters over to a populate server of them, you need 5 people to enjoy this game.

I'm not even involved in this post, but I was banned just like the person you just attacked's friends toy. Here is some math for you tough guy from another post I made. If you have enough volume of keys you profit 100% of the time, I'm sorry that you open up 1 box every week and don't get a mount.

I was opening roughly 500 boxes a day after a night / day of selling contents from the previous night. Each 500 boxes opened would yield ~ 2 inferno mounts and 2 twilight mounts (purchased with bars).

Inferno mounts were selling for 1.1 million, twlight 2.2 million, I was making 6.6 million off of 4 items. Then you factor in 700k per hero, 60k per adventurer, 25k per man at arms, 15k per simple weapon, all my my enchantments converted from R1 - 6 into 7 and sold.

Radiants at 700k a pop, dark at 400k a pop, azure at 325k a pop, silvery at 150k a pop.

Plague fire enchantments turned into greaters with free coalescent wards from leadership packs which sell for 2.5 m each
Teneborous sold for 100k each (the normal one, not lesser or greater)

And any other random stuff I got, phoeras, runes, etc.

I do not see what is screaming exploitation here? My mail box still has all of its mail, they can check my sales if they wish. I did nothing wrong. Again I apologize if you are angry at me, I have no idea what I did to you.

Oh and I also forgot, out of the 500 boxes I would get ~ 120 idols which give an auto 40k AD per or 4.8 million AD returned instantly for a 20 million AD investment.

Funny thing you didn't see TSW launch, but I did. As a lifetime member I can say that the game as come a long way, but it was broke as this one or worse at launch. But now people are talking about are great a game it is. A year from now people will be talking about how good Neverwinter is as they bad mouth the newest MMO. I really think if you don't want to deal with exploits and bugs then wait until the 6 months after the game officially releases.

Oh, don't get me wrong, we tried TSW in one of the beta weekends... I didn't like it one bit! We picked the game up at the beginning of this year when it was F2P. :) I wouldn't of even tried this game if a friend hadn't said he got a pack to play that first "open beta head-start" weekend...

Launches are terrible! After all these years of MMOs coming out, you'd think by now the industry would have gotten better, nope.

I noticed a bit of a decline in pop on dragon for the very little time i have played. I would say thats down to either the AH being down, people being pissed off that there are still expoilters around or the fact that the game wasnt wiped.

Personally i am disheartened that we didnt have a wipe after spending a fair bit of money supporting via founder pack and zen purchases in game. Unsure if ill stay but for now, my play time has gone down quite a lot.

Interesting numbers, thanks for posting those. I had been wondering about the cheap Twilight Nightmares, and this pretty much answered it. I had also been thinking about whether one would break even or make profit by opening a large number of boxes (I gave up after 70 or so), but that would have required a substantial investment with uncertain outcome.

Seeing how you guys got banned for it (not for it, just for the amount of AD you moved, I imagine), I'm glad I didn't actually try it. Did you pay money for the initial Zen or was it entirely done through AD?

I like seeing people still calling for a wipe.

Because these same people would be crying if the game was 'Officially Live'. And a wipe occurred. Literally just changing the game's status from 'Open Beta' to 'Live' and "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH! I LOST EVERYTHING!!!! WAAAAAAAAAH!"

---

As for population. Doesn't really matter since the servers are all going to be merged into a single 'shard'. And operate just like STO does.

Oh gods, I remember the early stages of TSW.. This one time the entire chat system was so broken that you couldn't talk to any of the other players, not even on zone or local chat. My guildies and I stared at each in game without a clue on how the hell are we going to communicate what are going to do next! Completely cut out from the community. Ah, good days :) But it got fixed along with the other bugs. So maybe Neverwinter will see the same fate. The game has barely been relea...erm.. in open beta.

I logged in yesterday night on Dragon shard for the first time after all that happened but I couldn't see the difference, the same crowd in Protectors Enclave as usual. The only difference was that Sgt. Knox was very lonely in comparison to other evenings when he is usually surrounded with a ton of players.

And as for CO, have been playing it for a long time, before PWE came around and I have to admit that the PWE system ruined it...

It amazes me that no matter what happens, to include a 60+ percentile of people asking for a wipe in a pole (which was like 40% > than either of the other choices) and they are inferring these people are babies. Some people think their opinion on the matter is so entitled that they make childish flaming posts, saying "people that get what they wan (wipe)t would go whaaaaa" are the ones crying about how they don't want a wipe.

You were voted of the island by like a 40% margin, honestly.

Queue times went through the roof Monday, and this is like what the 3rd Monday of a brand new game. It's fun to play without all the bullshiznit going on. This is the first Monday I've noticed take a nose dive on queue times. Again, brand new game(s) - do not take a nose dive going into the 4th week, when the previous weeks the servers could barely keep up with demand .... when people were wanting to play it.

Something is happening to the demand of people wanting to play this game. And wee geee, duh .... ya think? Look at all the problems. This is why a conventional release > than this open HAMSTER. My bad, beta.

I can't even find that pole anymore but when I voted I was like the 1630 or so person to vote, there were 3 options and wipe was like 62% and character only rollbacks was like 20 something and then the 3rd option with less. Just saying, stop crying about not wiping.

I believe it would actually be impossible to not buy zen. I spent over 1000$ in zen to build up an AD base + the founders pack 2 million AD. At the start I was opening ~ 50 - 100 boxes a day based on how much zen I wanted to get for the day with real life money, I even had PW raise my spending limit. The last week I was doing at least 500 boxes a day if not more, every other day I'd add in 50$ real life with 20 - 25 million AD in zen conversions at ~ 360 : 1.
