These are the things that are likely to lead me to stop playing this since they are priced way, WAY too high. 600 Zen for bank slots? 600 for a single respec? 400,000 AD for a bag, which works out at about 1000 Zen? No.
If those kinds of things in F2P games are sensibly priced then I will purchase them. I don't have a problem with a F2P model that makes me feel I get good value for my money. There are plenty of examples, most recently Warframe and Path of Exile. I spent money on both of those because I felt like I got a decent amount of stuff for my money. I'm not going to spend a penny on NWO because the prices for what I consider to be essentials in a MMO are blatant gouges.
As it is my bank slots are all full, my bags are constantly full and I'm level 24 ffs. Oh and to make some more alts I have to make a new account. This is frustrating and annoying and will drive me away.
And the $/Euro conversion is a disgrace. Why do we get royally shafted in the EU on the exchange rate? This also makes me not want to spend anything on this game just now.

add another post to the pile.. u get a couple of bags from questing.. as for the rest i find it aint too bad and u wont be needed to respec every second ,maybe once when u hit 60... And if u need more char slots ,it means u want to spend a bit of time play so just throw them $20 to get ,after all u didnt buy the game

What F2P games do you play that lets you turn in-game money into stuff you can use on the cash shop? And do not say GW2 that isn't F2P.
You can't have it all for free, because running and developing MMOs isn't free. They give you the whole base game for free, and yet you want more. You do get bank space, you do get character slots, you do get bags. I have not bought ANY bank space or bags for my alts, just for my main, and they do perfectly fine. It's not a problem at all.
Warframe is more P2W than this, really. You get blueprints, but it is not fast or simple to get the parts. And PoE, eh, donated money, didn't like it.
I like how everyone just ignores or glosses it over... look its simple...other mmo's give us these things either as part of the game, via a sub or at very reasonable price. Some ever give it as a global unlock...
This is a business...lets not fool ourselves... when you have customers walking away...when you have this many people complaining SOMETHING is wrong... as a business... everytime a customer walks they go give there money to a competitor... so two big things.
1: not needing it is not a good reason to jack prices up 200%
2: if high prices are turning people away...that is a big red flag for any business.
NONE of us are asking for them to be free...or for the game to be free...we simply want the prices to be worth the value...and right now they are not worth the value.... paying 40 dollars for bags on EVERY character is ridiculous! sick of the whole " BUT YOU DONT NEED IT" argument thats a terrible argument! you dont need the internet but you have it dont you? yea i thought so... its simple! if your competitors... are giving this stuff out cheaper then you are, and people are complaining then you have a problem...

This is a cop out excuse. If you don't game the auction house (which isn't adding AD to the economy, it is removing it through AH fees) you will only ever generate around 20k AD a day max if you are doing every daily (including the absurdly time consuming skirmish / foundry dailies at 60 that take 3 and 4 runes respectively for a lousy 2k diamond) plus spamming leadership AD professions.
The game would be significantly better off if you couldn't use the excuse of "if you spend a thousand hours playing and grinding, you can buy a 600 zen bag". The in game currency and the pay for items should be completely exclusive, so that the paid loot isn't breaking the game as badly as max level weapon / armor enchants and 110% mounts.
I think the prices are not all that unreasonable if you only play one or two characters.
$20 for 2 bags
$5 for additional bank space
$30 for purple companion.
$30 for max speed mount (can be used on all other charterers as well)
So around $85 for the first character and $55 more for each one after that.
So if you compare it to the cost of buy and pay a monthly fee for a P2P MMO then if you only have a couple of main characters its okay. If you like to make alts it will get expensive very quickly though.

A sub game will cost you $15 a month. This is a standard pricing model plus 50-60 for the game. So a standard sub game for the first year is roughly $260. Thats the budget I tend to give out to games as far as a fair pricing model.
As things stand if your bought the founder packs $60-$200, you will end up spending way to much if you wish to properly play the game to it's fullest. So in the end as far as pricing I feel sorry for those who bought the packs since they should have included more for them, mabey, even a discount at the zen market.
Lets take Bags and Respec for a pricing model. Fair pricing in my opinion would:
Bags: $5 per bag. They then could do upgrade bags for $5 etc etc. This means you will always have to buy the first bag then the upgrade. If they wish to charge more they should make it account wide purchase.
Respecing: Should be in-game gold or a low cost in AD mabey 10k AD per respec. If they want to charge Zen then keep it at 600zen for the token, however, make it multiple usesage, for example, 15 respecs.
As things stand they are losing my respect fast. Nightmare boxes that don't require you to loot nor are discardable from my inventory that require a real money key. There are alot of examples of this garbage ingame and it makes me distrust and disrespect them as a company.

soooo paying
85 dollars+55 dollars=140 dollars....
is ok to you? good lord man i can almost get 3 AAA titles for that much money... or i could get a sub mmo for over half a year for that price... also not factoring in wards...which is around 160 dollars or so for 1 character better tack that on to both characters... so thats what 300 dollars? i mean for crying out loud... if you people have that kind of budget then kudos but most of us dont.
Character slots- make a 2nd or 3rd acct...its a free to play game with no shared storage...fixed
Respec- Its a convenience not a requirement, research the class before u spam your points anywhere and go "oh crud I gimped my char"... Otherwise its a 1 time payment of 6 bucks ( probably spent more at starbucks...) or you can buy one via AD trading
Bags- convenience, you dont need 5 bags...if u "want" 5 bags farm AD or throw money at the company providing a game that probably cost them a pretty penny to make.

Oh god no wonder its a qq cash shop thread its a I want, but don't want to empty my wallet trying to find the best pvp build. Otherwise your in no real rush to get wards which you have a chance to get every 7 days.

The original poster is right. The Cash shop really needs to redo pricing and also put in things like a monthly fee people play for random or set items each month + bonus other stuff that go away if u stop paying the monthly fee.
If the prices in the shop were set more correctly or even better yet bundled in packages then most people..myself included...would have no problems spending money on this game. At the moment though the cash store zen to item ratio is horrific and makes it seem as if they are trying to get an influx of cash quickly to make up for what they've spent so far.
Bundles, packages, and monthly status would bring a huge influx into the game. Also reducing the pricing would get tons of people spending more money on this game.

The 25 slot greater bags of holding from the Zen store can be emptied, dragged into another bag slot and then mail to an alt.
So in doing that you can use the bag on whichever character you are playing.
The Zen store 24 slot bag of holding is not character bound, where as the quest reward bags are character bound.

So you are not even prepared to pay $5.00 (500 Zen) for two character slots to use for alts?
People that want everything for nothing, really should not be complaining about the prices.
Making alts and getting them to level 11 allows you to pray and craft leadership, so you are also bringing in AD on your alts every time you play.
I don't see the need for buying bags. I did buy one for my main character, but with my alts (I have one of each class, around or over level 20, and my CW is 60, who usually has two empty bags because he is just running dungeons now.) I didn't get one for anyone, so they just the built-in bag and the two from quests. Once you realize that you can fuse runes and that there is no point in picking up/rolling on greens that are not for your class, you are unlikely to have bag space issues. You can also sell all those low level potions or actually use them.
Two character slots are $5, or $2,50 for one. Many people just play one or two characters, and in other games they pay for slots they don't even need. And what's $5 for something that will give you dozens of hours of extra entertainment? I find comparisons to WoW pretty silly. They charge full price for each box and then a monthly fee AND sell mounts for cash (and charge three times more for name and appearance changes, or more than that). Plus, the moment you stop paying, you lose access to everything you paid for. Here, you keep whatever you pay for, even if you never spent any other money.
I agree on respec costs and feel they should be a game feature. But really, everything else is just extras and fluff. It's normal to want it all, but here you get more game and more fun for free than pretty much anywhere else. Classes won't cost extra, expansions will be free, all content is available to anyone, the cash store does not sell any weapons or armor pieces, especially none that cannot drop from monsters.

While I agree with your post, I don't understand how you can have a full inventory at lvl 24. Stop hording and sell all the stuff you don't need or put it on the auction house

^ 100% Agree with OP...
The price gouging in this game is bordering on stupid. Bags at 1000 zen, dumb. Respecs at 600 zen, dumb. Good mount from zen store 3000 zen, dumb. I can keep going with the inflated prices they have set.
This is all very strange when you compare these prices to PWE's Star Trek Online, you know, the other F2P MMO that shares the same server equipment? Ya that one. Max level Starships from the zen store which are the equivalent to the purple mounts in NWO..2500 zen, respecs are 500 zen and we dont have to buy bags in STo, your inventory slots are automatically increases as you level not to mention the HAMSTER load of bank slots we get for free in that game too.
The people defending Cryptic's decision are ignorant, do not listen to them. You are completely correct in your concern with these inflated prices. I will not spend a dime in NWO either when the prices are deliberately gouging their customers in this game. It seems they are experimenting with higher prices here thinking the gullible D&D fans will not say a thing and unfortunately these gullible clowns are throwing money at PWE left and right.. but from the LARGE amount for threads started on this topic they can not ignore it for long. And telling people to live with it and just trade astral diamonds for zen or go play another game is stupid considering the outrages AD to ZEN conversion. These customers taking their money elsewhere is not a good thing for this company and will affect everyone in the long run when it comes to future content and quality of life improvements. People talk with their wallets and seeing how Cryptic conveniently ignores the feedback in this forum they will find out the hard way.
While I agree with your post, I don't understand how you can have a full inventory at lvl 24. Stop hording and sell all the stuff you don't need or put it on the auction house
Another "its not cryptic's fault" response. Typical fanboi attitude.

Or at least set to the same equivalent cash shop prices as Star Trek Online, one of PWE's other games.

On one side you have video game console developers selling $59.99 games at Walmart that barely even offer 10 hours worth of gameplay, and sometimes they offer as little as 5 hours!!! Like OMG! Why pay $60 for a game that will keep you entertained for 2 to 3 days?
Then you have a game like Neverwinter that's free to play! You can download the game and start playing it without spending a cent, but if you want to play it more conveniently so you can get hundreds to maybe even THOUSANDS of hours worth of gameplay and fun, you need to spend a little $6 here, another $6 there, and in the long run, you're probably gonna only spend $30 or something, get bigger bags, respec once cause you made a mistake, and bought a few keys for a chance at the Nightmare mount!
See the problem here? No one complains that a new PS3 10 hour game is $60, but lotsa people will complain that spending a few dollars for a bigger inventory in a F2P MMORPG is a ripoff????

Many people are overlooking the ridiculous AD cost of items/services in game. When your limited to 24k a day. Basically the only way to afford stuff like hurrying crafting or level 60 gear is to rely on AD gotten with RL $$$. Don't bother with they "you can play the AH for AD" argument. That still relies on AD gained with RL $$. No one limited to 24k AD a day is making you money in the AH.
TLDR - With the blantant P2W and the ridiculous cash grab for a sadly under developed game I've spent my last money at PWE.

$6 to respec when you find a bugged trait in a beta test.
That's not good value or treating customers with respect.

Using your reasoning, once the AD/Zen rates average out you could use fewer AD to purchase Zen and then use that Zen to make whatever purchases you need.
Assuming AD are so hard to create and put into the economy, lets say the AD/Zen rate drops to 200:1. Now that 1000 Zen bag only costs 200,000 AD. I don't know about you, but it doesn't take me a thousand hours of grind to collect 200,000 AD.
As far as the armor and enchants goes, people need to stop even mentioning that. You aren't required to purchase that. Farm the dungeons - you know, play the game.

I have a solution. Don't purchase hurry up crafting, and farm for your lv 60 gear instead of trying to buy it. You sound like one of those people who, after having a max lv character with the best gear and maxed professions basically handed to him, he'd complain there isn't anything left to do in the game.
Just because something is available to be purchased doesn't mean you have to purchase it.

Making alts and getting them to level 11 allows you to pray and craft leadership, so you are also bringing in AD on your alts every time you play.
Sad really..
Another "its not cryptic's fault" response. Typical fanboi attitude.
Or at least set to the same equivalent cash shop prices as Star Trek Online, one of PWE's other games.
+1 for the truth, good post
-_-
He didn't say he wanted anything for free. You people just jump down anyone's throat who raises legitimate concerns. It's ridiculous.
simple comment, smartest person in this thread.

So sad to see you go. When you do. Which I hope you do.
Oh by the way, you're not limited to 24K AD per day, you can play the AH for AD.
True story. Bro.
