So I was wondering with Thanksgiving tomorrow, What is everyone's favorite dessert they eat at Thanksgiving.

Mine is Lemon Meringue Pie. I do bake them myself and make them more sour then most Lemon Meringue Pies.
I am usually Deaths Crowbar.

Well I'm in Australia so we don't have Thanksgiving Day.

I do love Lemon Meringue Pie, but unfortunately noone over here makes Pumpkin Pie.

Whatever my stepmom's mother makes. Or my stepmom. or her sister. Most of the rest of my family goes with store bought stuff, but they actually make desserts from scratch! Mmmmmmm. Fresh, home made pumpkin pie or black forest cake anyone? And now that I think about it, my dad's mom makes a killer cherry cheesecake with a ton of cherries! It's probably been ten years since I've had it and I still remember how amazing it is! Ok, now I'm hungry...

Aandre likes Olives. Olives build strong hind muscles for long, great axe broad stroke... when the coast is clear, Aandre swipes more!

But since you humanoids insist on dessert for Thanksgiving, Aandre dons his cooking gear, and bakes this:

    R174120.jpg.rendition.largest.jpg

    Aandre's Cherry Kuchen Bars

    Ingredients

    1/2 cup butter, softened
    1/2 cup shortening
    1 3/4 cups sugar
    1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    3 eggs
    1 teaspoon vanilla
    3 cups all-purpose flour
1 21 ounce can cherry pie filling*
    1 recipe Powdered Sugar Icing

    Directions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a large mixing bowl beat butter and shortening with an electric mixer on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add sugar, baking powder, and salt. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in eggs and vanilla until combined. Beat in as much of the flour as you can with the mixer. Using a wooden spoon, stir in any remaining flour. Reserve 1 1/2 cups of the dough. Spread remaining dough in the bottom of an ungreased 15x10x1-inch baking pan.

    2. Bake for 12 minutes. Spread pie filling over crust in pan. Spoon reserved dough into small mounds on top of pie filling.

    3. Bake about 30 minutes more or until top is light brown. Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Drizzle top with Powdered Sugar Icing. Cool completely. Cut into bars to serve.

    Powdered Sugar Icing

    Ingredients

    1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
    3 - 4 teaspoons milk

    Directions

    1. In a small bowl stir together powdered sugar, vanilla or almond extract, and enough milk to make a smooth icing of drizzling consistency.

    C-c-c-combo breaker!

Favorite dessert is a glass of moscato or a sweet riesling.

    Close second- bread pudding.

A desert vs dessert pun, really?

I should delete that on principle and bad punnery, but it's almost on topic, so I'll let that one slide.

But I got my eye on you!

(Fixed thread and first post to dessert with 2 s's.)
