The "Archieved User" part only refers to post made after the update that brought us the bears? Not that it really matters, just curious.
Yes, more than a thousand of my posts lie there necroed ...
I think it's from when we switched forums/to pwe forums. We many of us lost our account names along with the switch. Thus my pilf3r instead of Asmodeus
The update coincided with the merge.

    EDIT:
    my pilf3r instead of Asmodeus
    iirc, wasn't it asm0deus instead?

Will you have to re-allocate the permissions for mods, or will the usergroup settings stay the same?

I'll have to do some reallocation. Not a ton, should be quick, but yes.

To all users: vBulletin is a good system, but it can be easy to misplace permissions. When we switch over, if there's a feature that you think you should have access to -- posting images, signatures, custom avatars -- but don't, please post about it. Some of it will be intentional, like we've disabled video embedding, but there's always a chance a mistake was made.

Also: This upgrade is planned to start at 10 AM on Monday. That time can always change, but right now it looks pretty solid. We will have forum downtime for a while after the switch, but it should be relatively quick -- we've got the process down pretty smooth and done a lot of prep work.

colored text, signature alignments, and non-video linking comes to mind. Let's see how Monday goes!

I'm hoping you can do color blending like gradients. I could see some really good and TERRIBLE colors coming out of it, but it'd still be fun.

Awesome! Looking forward to 10am Monday (I'm guessing that is PST?) Time change happens this weekend on the 4th at 2:00am EDT and becomes 3:00am EST - Goodbye Daylights Time!

So will the upgrade be 2pm EST or 1pm EST? - Time Changes and Time Zones always gets the best of me... Mystryl would lay down the laws of Time on our Earth in retribution for this defilement of Time!

    *the mage grins*

My only concern is how formatting will be ported over. Will the color codes be the same or will the new forum break old color code formats, such as what I've done with my Grimoire of Time thread (linked under my signature image)?

I made hard-copies of them just in case.

Crud, comletely skipped my mind the color coding codes may change...(will back up some threads later.)

Let us Mods know (publicly or privately depending on the tasks and their access to the public) if you need anything for us to do or help with, TT.

We're hoping we Moderators can "Lounge Around" after this all is said and done and updated (as Melanderi can detail for you if need be. :) )

I have another concern after messing around in ESO Control Panel.

The Avatar max file size is 19.5 KB, which is fine, while the Signature max file size oddly much less at 9.8 KB. 9.8 KB is far too small for a signature! My sig looks horrible when adjusted to fit under 9.8 KB and it lacks a lot of detail to begin with. Please consider change this to the normal 50.0 KB that most sites use. Thanks!

Make copies, but it should be correct. I don't think there's a change in [color=] tags.

I standardized signature images at one per signature, 250x500, and... I think 200k. Went with the Jade Dynasty standard.

If you run into a file size restriction that seems unusually harsh, let me know, it's probably by accident.

I sometimes get several hours "rest" every 24 hours or so. "Sleep" is much rarer. :-|

Oddly even though it says so on ESO - the signature of people over there which they use all exceed those limits. So limits are probably the size and not the KBs.

The ones that are uploaded though are all bound by the restriction. I tried it out extensively. Seems they're able to overcome the limit by linking to an image on a web host/site (eg imageshack / photobucket).

Whenever I tried to upload my signature, it resized it down until it was under 9.8kb no matter what the dimensions were. When I finally lowered the quality down to fit under 9.8kb, it uploaded at proper dimensions.

Aha, I'll keep my link options open then with my image-sharing sites just in case.

And thanks a lot for the info TT! I'd offer an animal sacrifice in your name, but apparently that is "wrong" now, so I can't :p

... or, what's more likely, is that I didn't set the signature permissions properly.

I will always recommend linking to an external hosting site (if only to save us bandwidth :D).

Good to know, thanks! I'll be glad to help save bandwith and be sure to host my sigs/avs there. I do love my photobucket. :-) Still have a ton of my old signatures uploaded there from way back in my early UO days even!

Yeup. We should be starting this at 10 AM. Please remember that this will involve some downtime for the forums, during which we'll be redirecting traffic to http://nw.perfectworld.com/unavailable.
