Omu trophies low drop rate?

    I have killed maybe some 20 hunt mobs in random encounters as I have been roaming Omu doing quests. No drops.

    Yes, trophies seems very rare. I have been wondering if unlocking left side is a prerequisite for getting drops. Anyone with no left side unlocks that got trophy drops?

    I have not opened any of the *Omu* hunt slots. Haven't even opened the KoS hunt slot from Chult.

    I am getting Omu hunt trophies.

    Drop rate is completely foobar. Killed 50 hunt mobs and got 1 trophy.

    I have a similar thread open called RNG behind RNG behind RNG... I feel your pain... I'm sure I'm pushing 50 bear kills with one Plauge Maw and several hours invested :( I can grind out AD to buy GMOPS/SMOPS and buy them from people faster.

    That said, I have given up and once again will not have the experience of exploring the hunts. Simply because its not fun... At all.

    normally I go out smacking rotting ogres (river) for the weekly . . . so yesterday went out smacking rotting ogres for % of adventure . . .

    wham - bam - 3 dropped at one time

    when a minute before went whamming & bamming . . . flattened 10 of them for nothing

    don't think its drop rate related

    think its their RNG works in very large bottomless pit cycles

    I spent 8 hours farming two nights ago and received 18 drops in total. So hopefully that gives you a rough idea haha... Took me 3 days to get a total of 32 hunt. 2 of those are tier 2 hunts. Which dropped no trophies.

    The rng goddess seems to have forsaken me, hunted rasalas twice with extremely pain in the @#$ to get lures... absolutely nothing on the first hunt, and one +2 ring on the second.

    Cry.

    Hunted the big beholder also... and the damn loot fell in the lava.

    Must be all those mirrors I've broken recently by throwing black cats and ladders at them.
    No idea what my toon is now.

    Please concider increasing the drop rate of trophees to where you are asusred of geting one atleast if you farm 15 minutes. My person best is currently standing on 6 HOURS of farming in game and 0 DROPS

    5.5hours of grionding bears last night gave me one single trophy.
    I know it is supposed to be rng anf all... but please...
    Changing instance or toon didn't do anything.
    Chance to drop are almost as bad as UES in TONG

    some trophies seem to drop more for me... or is it maybe easier to find the prey, whisp is an example.
    only doing t1 so far...
    how are the drop rates of t2 trophies? same as t1 or worse?

    We did 34 t1 hunts which was able to make 5 t2 hunts yesterday. The result was zero t3 trophies for the tyrant lure, just a bunch of salvage. Only rngesus knows how many thayans, yuan-ti, bears, spiders, undead, and lizard folk lost their lives for that to happen.

    idk, maybe 34 > 5 > 0 gives you an idea of the probability to get to the tyrant.

    thinking about it, at 3 gmops per lure, that was about 2 million +/- ad worth of t1 lures wasted for close to nothing.

    Spent a few hours killing thayans, spawned and killed 37+ mind whisperers, not a single lure item.
    Lure items should just drop everytime or make them sellable in the AH. That way people who like to farm their life away can do so and be paid, while others can just buy em on the AH.

    1st day MOD13 hit I was able to get 2 x Paw and couple of rexes. Drop rate seemed normal - you kill 2-3 mobs, you get a drop.

    Farmed some Tyrants, some Thayans, got a lot of mask lures without a notable drop (just some +1 +2 rings). Armor dropped pretty fast but I was reluctant to equip in on my CW.

    It seemed like the first drop was the best drop as I also got T2 lures and 1 T3 lure from some spider boss I think... not sure.

    Also beat couple of Maitas and some big gorilla gorilla gorilla (who dropped a super helm which adds 200 crit per enemy and looks amazing).

    And last few days I killed around 40 wisps, 30 mageslayers, 20 white bears, 15 red spiders. Only got 2 flasks from wisps and 1 paw.

    The time invested was most definitely NOT worth it because it eventually sells for maybe 2-3GMOPs which isn't a lot tbh.

    I think that the price for this needs to rise up quite a bit.

    Just spent 3 hrs grinding across the lowerside (seems the best chance to not have someone steal kill your mark by mistake (to many people say steal lol.. there is no stealing something that is random!) heres what I learned..

    it takes 5 min for a mob to respawn. I was working on the Lizard Folk so 6-7 give or take.. which if you add 1min to kill that is around 200-210 mobs. I got 0 drops and prob 5 or 6 of the guy with his dinos. I mean.. that is just crazy. I've seen people saying it's :59 reset and there are only so many per hr.. but no one actually knows what the mech behind this is.. Would be nice if someone from NW was to give one of the NPG's a tooltip on these things! but oh well.. grind grind grind.. I Did make about 6000 in RP from the green eq.. so a win there. but 3hrs.. no drops =(

    Same here, for the last week or so, drop rates seemed reasonable, farm for an hour, get a couple of drops, but for the last couple of days... absolutely nothing despite countless rare monsters killed.

    Either a whole new crop of hunter alts recently opened up omu and are diluting the rng, or the drop rate got ninjanerfed.

    I'm just glad I got all the hunt gear I needed in the first week or so of the new mod dropping. Trying to do it again now would be murder.
    No idea what my toon is now.

    RNGJeebus! The drop rate sux!

    In the past 7 days, I've done 55 t1 hunts, which led to 8 t2 hunts, and from that I got 1 3* trophy, the eyestalks.

    With the way prices are in /trade that people are asking for atm, lets see they ask 10-15 smops for t3 trophies, 4 - 10 smops for t2 lures, and 2-4 gmops for t1 lures. lets take about mid for these, and lowest for the t3 (10 smops).

    55 (t1 hunts) * 3 (gmops / t1 hunt) * 20,000 (ad / gmop) = 3,300,000 ad
    8 (t2 hunts) * 6 (smops / t2 hunt) * 80,000 (ad / smop) = 3,840,000 ad

    Today someone sold a rotten flesh lure for 50 smops ( about 4,000,000 ad)

    Clearly, I would have been better off selling my lures a lil cheaper than most people ask, and just buying that rotten flesh lure, instead I got a trophy worth about 1 mil ad +/-.

    If I would have bought all those t1 lures, or t2 lures, I would be crying right now.

    The high prices reflect the crappy drop rate and it's hard to know who to be upset with, but ultimately is Cryptic/PWE who are responsible for the situation. As it stands, the hunting system is very much pay-to-win, as only those who sell their soul to farming the hunts will be able to grind out even 1 Rotten Flesh lure, of which you will need anywhere between 1 and 10 to get a set of tyrant weapons (assuming 1x Teeth of the Tryant drop / hunt for lure owner).

    As far as I can tell, it seem that t1 trophies drop about 10% of the time from hunt marks when you can get them to spawn, but at least for me, I can kill 100 magebreakers, and maybe get 4 helms, while other hunt marks drop trophies much more often such as wisps.

    Some of the t2 trophies seem to have different drop rates, but I feel even after about 150 t1 hunts since release, I don't a large enough sample size. But for example, my worst streak with Redfang Spears is 11 hunts before 1 droped. My best is 2/6. Whereas Musshussu's Talon seems to drop pretty frequently, at least in my experience. My best guess is that t2 trophies drop 20% of the time from t1 hunts.

    While my current attempt at a tyrant lure is proven to be very unlucky compared to my 1st, I definitely don't have a large enough sample size to make any kind accurate assessment. But my 1st try, was 3/7 t2 hunts for trophy drops, my 2nd try currently is 1/8, if we assume that I wouldn't have got a trophy drop from an 8th t2 hunt my 1st shot at a tyrant lure, then we can call it 3/8 to make the math a lil easier. So ((3/8) + (1/8)) / 2 = 0.25 or 25% drop rate for trophies from t2 hunts.

    Now, if anyone is an expert at probability, they may be able to take the findings and give you an estimate on how many hunt marks you would need to kill before being able to make a tyrant lure, but I'm sure that math would be rather involved and we don't even know at what frequency hunt marks spawn from mobs.

    EDIT: A forum moderator recently said in a post that the developers are working on making hunts less frustrating for player in a future release. While this is good news, and eased my mind for 2 seconds, I immediately asked myself, "when is this future release they speak of?". Is it next week in a patch? Next mod? 2 mods from now? Really, they need to take care of this issue in a matter of weeks, like next patch, or 2 patches from now.

    Anyways, if I can manage to make another tyrant lure within the next week, I will. But after that I am done w/ hunts in omu, it's nothing but HAMSTER, and it certainly isn't a fun experience.

    Like refining RNG, hunt spawn and drop results seem sticky at times. Last week in the undercity, I saw several magebreakers, like at almost at every spawn point in the area. I killed all, like six of them, and got nothing.

    In the area behind camp vengeance, yesterday there were 10 rotting ogres up at the same time. Killed all of them and got nothing. Tonight, there were 22 ogres up at the same time. Got only two femurs. I remember a time a while ago I had to discard femurs because they dropped so often. Seems like something got tweaked in the wrong direction recently. And the cluster spawns seem strange.

    I did five one-star hunts tonight. Got four two-star trophies. Maybe RNG is better at the beginning of the week. Gonna do all my hunts on Mondays now.

    50 rare mobs (whole week of farming, I mostly logged only to Omu to kill something): 1 rare trophy (magebreaker). Suprisingly my only trophies drop around monday but it migh be tinfoil - it's so rare occurence for me that it could be any day anyway.

    In meantime I farmed more than 30 Trex Spines (after that point I started to avoid them if possible) and I don't even have matching trophy for them.

    I have unlocked all hunt task up to tyrant and it does change my RNG in any way

    The lolz here is that you are surprised about the hideously low drop rate - what did you expect? The developers want you to grind because its the most fun part of the game :smiley:

    My two cents: Before the patch getting trophies in omu was mildly rare and very fun when you got one! Post patch, 45-ish kills over several hours for every alpha spawn = 3 wisp and a venom. I'm not having fun anymore in omu :(

    One data point.: I do not farm the rare spawns - I kill them if I encounter them when doing quests and the same goes for the Rex.

    I have gotten a few trophies, but I have three times as many spines as other trophies combined (and as I have not unlocked anything on the left side, I have not made any lures yet.) The thing is, to me this suggest that the drop rate of the other trophies should be roughly tripled - then things would be balanced.

    As others have mentioned, a weak point in Omu hunts vs. Soshenstar is that only one mark spawns at a time in Omu, instead of 2-3. Just on that basis alone, Omu trophies drop rates should be 2x-3x that of the Soshenstar marks. Beyond that though, Soshenstar drop rates are way too low, and both should be improved by at least double that. Personally, I vote for 100% drop rate divided by the number of rares that spawn per batch.

    A fear of mine was when they decided to allow having more than one trophy at a time in inventory, they thought that was somehow an advantage and lowered the drop rates further. That would be like saying, "Well, since you have a bigger lunch box now, we're going to balance that by giving you less food." It would be that ridiculous. I don't know if they did that, but I can't put it passed them.
