    I disagree on the lag especially if you are in the US, i have ran numerous tracert's and constantly time out on a router in boston..i have sent these captures to arc and they just give me the run around...I see tons of peeps hollering lag and im willing to bet this server is the culprit... 8 * * 38 ms ae-1-11.bear2.Boston1.Level3.net [4.69.159.254]...flushing dns does not work nor does changing the dns servers i am using

      What you are describing is a classic situation of network congestion. The link ending at that Boston router is congested leading to packet drops, or it could be a memory error or somesuch on the router itself. You need to contact your ISP about this, change ISP if necessary.

      Since the server is US East coast and the servers are West coast, the congested link/router is so far away from the servers that Cryptic has no responsibility at all for that part of the Internet.

      DNS has nothing to do with this in this case. DNS is just for mapping domain names to IP-addresses. Your problem occurs when the game client is trying to use that IP address to send packets.
