    This is the first game ive played that it feels like im being punished for wanting to have the best gear. im all about the grind but currently its insane. if you had to do a set number of hes thats one thing, but rng on hes? that was just an example. the way twisted weapons were introduced was perfect. its a shame what we have now. even further back, dungeons farming was amazing. why? REWARDS! why are people quitting? REWARDS! thats all thats really been taken away. Everything is either BOP BTA BTC, how can players proceed? Want players to play pvp? ADD REWARDS RANDOMLY TO THE END OF GAMES! they wont mind getting slaughtered if theyre profiting from it. Want players to play pve? REWARDS! make rings unbound. artifacts. anything that makes mindlessly farming not feel like a chore. guess what... most players dont care about being bis. thats why when you force grinds for gear/ weapons, they dont do it. They want wealth. The players who care about bis will pay $ to get items that are farmed by the others. Thats why mod 5 worked. Use your brains. Sorry for the rant, just felt like it.

    Some players quit because they are done
    Some players are still here but just login- logout and few more because they don't have any interest in such contents.
    Some players are grinding like hell to get the new weapon set and maybe the gear set, but the structure of SKT goes nowhere. As soon as we have all we want (2-3 months?), they will be empty areas/ wasted assets (IWD?) that no one wants to see it again in all your life because at the end you hate it (http://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1225249/the-insane-grind-with-skt-somi).
    Really...I'm worried because after this insane grind, there's...nothing: you show your new shining and powerful stuff and what next? Kill Orcus in solo mode in 2 hits?

    Stupid grind and powercreep killed this game, apart from bad concepts and missing classbalance, caused by stupidly overbuffed feats and powers.
    Starting at mod 4 my guild was huge, several sides of member online, now we got an alliancesystem and we are far less player in a whole than in one single guild in mod 4.
    Atm we got 1 Dungeon to run, wich spends some kind of challenge but zero rewards.
    CN, T2, elol can´t be considered to be challenging.
    When I started I got plenty of dungeons to run and the most challenging was CN apart from epic Dread Vault, I also liked those epic version of idris and more.

    there is really little for alliances and guilds to do.. there is not much group content, and right now everyone is making more fishing.. Im sure trial will be run a ton in the coming days..

    but really, when you can make more fishing, then you can running CN .. what is the point, there is little.

    Some are ok with it, some are not.

    This has been a long road to where we are at.. however, every mmo has extreme highs and extreme lows, this one is just going through one of those really low points to me. Where boring grind replaces any real content.

    Im done really yelling at players.. I think if you are not interested in this stuff, it really is time for us to look at other options, there are alot of other games who deserve our dollars more then this one atm.

    Not saying it cant get better.. but for the next few months at least, we are not its not ..

    The thing of it is.. we are giving such LITTLE in terms of group content, that when you run it 3-4-5000 times, you cant possible think its challenging anymore.

    Its my thought and option that this game , will not get back what its lost, until they have a level increase, a linear rebalance of enchants and stats, a vaiable solution to progress in game, a general rebalance of classes, a viable option to cap power curving extremeness and most importantly after all that.. a massive slew of group content.. 5-6 new dungeons, 2-3 new skirms, 1-2 new raids.

    But its not going to happen, the golden age of this game is closed, the silver age has passed, we played through the bronze.. we are getting down to the pewter and tin ages now my friends.

    I dont think any optimisms expressed, really show reality of what they are willing to give us.

    I think what you want out of this game, isnt coming around again, its time for some of us to look elsewhere, because I do believe, that being too negative at the folks here, wont help them at all, if they want to struggle on and they still enjoy it, then fine.. its a player choice now.

    I do not at all believe, that this game will get better, or achieve anything like the older days, nothing recently has shown me it will.

    Some of the folks in my alliance have resorted to running stuff with intentionally poor party compositions, often carrying someone along the way.

    But it's still bad if you can complete almost any existing dungeon (except for FBI) in <15min even if you go, for instance, with no tank.

    And ditto what folks said about about the grind being all that's left, and it being brutal for alts. I had 6 toons going in SKT (3 unlocked FBI, 3 on their way) but when SoMI came out it became clear I wouldn't be taking more than 1 toon through... maybe 2 if I get depressed and delusional.

    The grind is insane and discouraging, it feels like they haven't made a single good design decision in 2 mods.

    I would add to your comment here that they can turn the dungeons back to what they used to be as well though. Simply stated as no more of this 1 hit killed by an NPC bs.

    And yea I see the map fragments that have been recycled from older dungeons and now are being used in storyline quests which I think it's just beyond shameful and lazy.

    Shame? Lol, I seem to remember a devpost at the end of last year, expressing how proud they were of how smooth the mod6 release was. Granted, they have switched out some folks in their team since then, who have admitted it wasn't quite as smooth as they wanted it to be, but like most old elephants, I don't forget nor forgive so easily.
    Well, my memory is more that of a gold fish, but you get what I mean. :)

    IMO the problem isn't the grind itself. There's always been a bit of it in neverwinter. The problem is that there used to be a mod low on grind after a grind intensive one, but with 10.5 we got another very grind heavy mod after a grind heavy mod. That's too much. There used to be some time between two very grindy phases, but now the devs don't want to give us a break.

    I don't know if that's a sign things aren't going so well in the dev team. When you feel forced to rely on insanely grindy content to artificially inflate your frigging metrics instead of trying to produce engaging quality content players will want to replay because they like it, there's a big underlying issue in your team that isn't going to be easy to solve. We'll see if they're up to the task next mod. :smile:

    My game play is greatly reduced thiese days, i've dicided that i will not grind the new boons tree, too much grind for to litlle result, most of my time i've spent playing alts, but i cant spend my RP on them or my gronw would stuck...

    i Think i will get a new game in Black Friday, and take a time from this one, i will restar to play when (IF) some improviment come...

    Dont get me wrong this is not a Bad game, the thing is that it used to be much better than it is now and that is really sad...

    The problem I see is that they want to keep us bussy while they release a new module with new things... I think this is the wrong aproach.

    Imagine you can:

    Do daily missions OR Fish OR do Heroic encounter OR do a dungeon OR do other things
    and get similar progression in the campaign, the gear etc.

    So you can do what you want or like and have progression.

    Imagine you can:

    Get the super rare items having luck (RNG) OR grinding for them. For exaple doing CN 30 times you can buy a shard of Orcus or a +5 ring.

    Imagine:

    Everything is unbound or bound to account

    Imagine:

    You can get ANY item playing the game. With more or less grind.



    I can write more but you get the idea. Then you will have a happy community doing what they want in the game and having fun playing the game in the way the like. Paying for the items they dont want to farm or other things, but having fun.

    Agreed! You should be able to complete the game while not being forced to do so many repetative things over and over.

    I don't mind that they put one or two things inside a HE that you need, but forcing us to do how many HE? How much lanolin do you need for the armor set and the weapons. Somewhere close to 200.

    If you run HE fast, you can do 1 every 5 minute. But you have to run between them too, so it is more. That is 12 HE an hour with super speed. If you get 3 lanolin from those you are super lucky. So, to get all lanolin you need, that is 66 hours with a speed faster then anyone can do and with more luck that anyone has. It is probably more like 100 hours of focused HE just to get there. Who wants to do that? Show me one person.

    I don't know the droprate of turtle moults, but it seems like it is far less then what for lanolin. Maybe 1 per hour. Check your main and offhand and count how many total hours of HE you have to do in this mod.

    They did something good by adding lanolin and moults to treasure maps, but these drops should come from the dungeons as well. That is what people want to do. They are forcing people to do HE instead of doing dungeons. It is like they want us to kill ourselves out of boredom. I don't see any other/more sensible reason to do this. They hate their own game.

    That is a beautiful blog and it's all absolutely true. Amen. And now I definitely know I won't be grinding the new content. I'll just work on new toons til I'm blue in the face.

    Hell they could even revitalise the Foundry just by making it drop Voninblod! I'm sure lots of people would prefer to actually run content for that stuff rather than mindlessly clicking on relics or chasing from HE to HE.

    The original development team made the combat system and the starting zones. Those two things are whats good about Neverwinter. Now they cant design, they cant code, they cant debug. There is some light in the art team ( Baphomet is a truly a great looking demon but you get to see him like once a week for 5 mins.... ).

    Neverwinter hasnt improved at all since open beta. Im still here because I like the combat system and leveling a new character from 1 to 60 is actually the best experience this game has to offer - its actually fun.

    emilemo, they are not same team, almost all of original team prior to mod 6 all got axed, and they had replace with other new devs that not fully trained and lack of expierances, now we seeing all same mistakes when they delay patches by several weeks.
    they are wondering why players really hated it and drove players away into other games, that what wrong with current dev team that has no clue why they are breaking the game with more bugs.

    yes, original team can make dungeons and contents, and current team just barely made SKT and Underdark zones and recycle old zones as new zones with a terrible mindset for RNG that we all dont like it and hated.

    original team made RPG format,. and current team just made "casino format".

    I want my Neverwinter back !!

    It is so sad, I was on my 7th character in Ebon Downs and some new player was asking about the 5 man skirmish (Defend the Temple). They wanted to complete it for the achievements before leveling past it. I had to inform them the game no longer has "Throne of Idris" among others, so completing achievements on the PC is implausible. They had waited 40 minutes in the que and nothing. I explained the players no longer support Ebon Downs, simply because the developers have abandoned the area to focus on new copies of old dungeons for level 70 players. Many of my characters will never get the dungeon achievements. But rumor has it, Idris has taken up tennis and is quite good at the game.
