But on the PvE side of things, I'd say the HR Trapper is in a good spot. Squishiness was somewhat alleviated with the Elemental Evil water weapons, and is now further improved with various insignia bonuses to self-healing, movement speed, deflection and so on, as well as the new weapon (Dread) and armour (Shadowclad) enchantments benefitting us pretty well.
Which only leaves me the lack of burst dps as my single gripe about the HR, really.
A nice picture for you. You can figure out what caused it
Oi. haha. why are you posting this up? let people discover things for themselves too XD

I know you keep posting this thefabricant... but he states in his vid that there is something broken about some power. Thus the picture is just showing some kind of glitch I think.

yes he meant to show the 119m which i have yet to reach, have only done 30m as my highest i think. This is something for all the bored/ranting HRs probably, to try and explore your toon more and try to do that much(well, at least try, coz the buffer in that party is insanely lovely.
I'd love to know how it is done and try it myself, I wouldn`t actually use it as it would drain the fun out of the game. But I would like to know what has caused that hit.
I get incredible scores on the xbox, I actually did this short clip a little earlier for a different reason but you can see my damage is pretty good with my build http://xboxdvr.com/gamer/wdj40/video/15884795 but my entire run was like half of that 1 hit in his video/screenshot ha ha... that is just nuts
To be honest I`m not even sure, if I knew how, if it can be replicated on the xbox anyway.

So I was a long time SW Archer (literally since the HR was introduced) who refused to switch over, but I'm tired of being crushed in the DPS charts. I have a very high Item Level, but you wouldn't know it looking at the charts. So today, I finally respec'ed to Pathfinder Trapper according to the above information, but I had a question about rotations.
I'm mostly concerned about how to do eDemo or CN. For regular content, I could just stand there doing nothing but rapid shot and never move and be fine. For more elite mobs, what should I be doing?
What exactly am I trying to accomplish. Do I start with careful attack, switch to range and use hindering, switch back and do plant groth, etc. What is the most effective rotation. I played for a few minutes, and my muscle memory took over and it was hard to unlearn my previous play style. I think if I understood the dynamics a bit better, I could learn to play the trapper. Any help would be appreciated.

You will be switching stances constantly, like every two encounters with Aspect of the Serpent. You can start with Careful Attack then Constricting Shot -> Hindering Shot -> Hindering Strike -> Plant Growth -> Cordon -> rinse repeat depending on what encounters you use but those are the standard ones AFAIK.
Our pain is self chosen.

Personally I would never start a melee rotation with Careful Attack, you want to use your double stack of AtoS on the heaviest hitting melee Encounter in your set-up.
Careful Attack messes with your stacks so you will very rarely have 2 stacks of melee AtoS up when Careful is up and proccing, especially in a group format.
Also when Careful Attack is not up you need to throw in an At-Will on the ranged rotation to get the most out of AtoS. If you just use 3 Encounters and switch you will only have 1 stack of the opposite AtoS. So I always advise a rotation for a Trapper (with AtoS) should be something like this :
Heaviest hitting Ranged Encounter - Double stack of Ranged AtoS used 2nd heaviest hitting Ranged Encounter - Single stack of Ranged AtoS used 3rd heaviest hitting Ranged Encounter or Buff - No stacks of AtoS but gives 1 Melee stack Very fast At-Will like Rapid Shot or Hunters Teamwork (hold the trigger for this attack during animation of previous attack) - Gives double stack of Melee AtoS
Switch to Melee Heaviest hitting Melee Encounter - Double stack of Melee AtoS used 2nd heaviest hitting Melee Encounter - Single stack of Melee AtoS used 3rd heaviest hitting Melee Encounter or Buff - No stacks of AtoS but gives 1 Ranged Stack Very fast At-Will like Rapid strike... But here is where I will put in Careful Attack against a high HP mob/boss.
Careful Attack will mess with the stacks of AtoS so this all kind of goes out the window in a way lol.
One power that does mess with this is Fox`s Shift. I would not suggest using that 1st in a Melee Rotation, Fox's Shift uses both the Double stack and single stack of Melee AtoS and also replaces them with 1 Ranged stack of AtoS. If you use Fox's Shift 1st in a Melee rotation you will have no more stacks for the rest of your melee Encounters in that rotation.
Just wondering though why you would advise switching after only every 2 Encounters? I`m not sure what that would accomplish? Anyhoo I am on the xbox so I am a little behind and still learning things myself with the help of some of you PC guys

Because Serpent only goes to 2 stacks. I hardly ever use at-wills so I keep the stacks up by using 2 ranged then 2 melee encounters. That is my understanding of how Serpent works. I play PF but even then I barely use CA as I keep forgetting

Yeah your not getting the most out of AtoS then... as I mentioned above you need to do 4 attacks before switching to maximise AtoS when Careful Attack is not up.
Main - Rydia (HR70) - Xbox One Player only Alts : Storm (SW70), Edge (TR70), AD Farm (CW70), Grunt (GF70), Rosa (DC70), AD AD AD (GWF70), Your Mum (OP70)
Oh actually I forgot to mention, if you use an attacking Daily in the rotation you do not need to add in that extra attack right at the end (the At-Will).
For me my heaviest hitting attack for Melee is Hindering Strike so I try to fire that off 1st, if I am a little too far away then Slasher's Mark takes that double stack of AtoS followed by Hindering Strike. For other people though who use Encounters like Plant Growth as their heaviest attack should generally try to use the double stack of AtoS for that.
In Ranged it is slightly different for me as I utilise Longstriders Shot in my rotations, sometimes I will fire that 1st and then Constricting Arrow or Longstriders then Seismic HAMSTER. I find that due to the damage buff from Longstriders, Constricting + Strong Roots hit like a truck. Binding Arrow also works well in place of Constricting Arrow for damage. Other times though I will just fire off Constricting Arrow as my heavy attack with 2 stacks of AtoS, then fire off Longstriders right at the end of the ranged rotation so all my melee attacks benefit from the damage buff, it all depends on my placement at the time.
Anyhoo other people will use Cordon of Arrows as their heaviest attack with that double AtoS stack. To be honest I have about 5/6 different rotations which I just switch to on the fly. Also in PvP my Encounters are completely different which is why I found it very useful to learn multiple rotations and work out which attacks would benefit from the stacks of AtoS the most.

I never knew this, although I never used the 'old' Serpent and have only been playing Trapper for about a month now so the stacking mechanism is new to me. I suppose I'll just toss in an at-will or two before switching stances.
With regards to CA messing with stacks, is it even worth playing PF over SW? I know it has the ability to do a tonne of damage, but I never use it in circumstance where it can do that (Heralds/Dragon Flight) because of the performance issues it causes for many players in big fights.

There are people much more versed than me who can answer that one, some of the PC guys are years ahead of me. I`ve not been able to get as much damage out of a Storm Warden personally but I do need to do a lot more playing around with it truth be told.

if you dont like casting CA, id suggest stick to SW. since most mobs are dead fast anyways. CA shines on big hp enemies that takes a bit longer to kill than 1 rotation. If you go PF id suggest you take up AotS + AotP and offhand of AotP.
Being SW now though, i am free of casting CA at will, which gives me more time to use my encounters(almost no cooldowns, i know, but still more seems better XD)
If youd respec though, give it time to get yourself used to it, itd be a waste to respec then respeccing back in less than a day.

I am actually very comfortable with SW as my PF Trapper was SW Combat since Mod 2. In fact all the gear is still set up for Combat. I'm not using any PF skills other than CA, which I hardly apply as it is. Never liked the CA mechanic much to begin with. Both my Archer and now Trapper have Pack feature slotted and activated on OH. Trapper also has Serpent feature slotted so no adjustments need to be made there.
TBH I'm hoping for Combat to be buffed some time this year and then I'll be switching back in a heartbeat.

If you are aiming for edemo, it's one story, if you are aiming for CN, it's the other. For edemo it's nessesary to switch powers, if you want to maximize your output. - 1st phase, you go with fox/constricting/cordon or longstrider/constricting/cordon (if you run with a normal team, so your teammates do not die during the 1st phase, lol). You land cordon when purple portal is about to explode (if you are far from portal you can use target lock on your teammate who opens the portal to prevent missing). You don't even need to use at wills, because everything goes down pretty fast during the 1st phase. - 2nd phase, you go with fox/constricting/longstrider or hawk/constricting/longstrider. With 1st setup you proc Careful Attack on goristro, then stay close to him and spam constricting/fox/gushing wound. You can also use Slasher's mark as a gap closer. With 2nd setup you do need some party coordination, and it's described in the appropriate topic (check hawk shot in the guide above, there I posted some link). - 3rd phase is the same. In CN all depends from party you run with. Often people espect you to use fox. Sometimes you even want to use fox/hindering/longstrider for the last boss, staying as far as possible and spamming oak skin to get instant refresh on ranged powers.
PS Playing trapper in PVE is way easier than playing melee or archer. I was playing archer in mod2 and melee in mods 3 and 4. I had to care about distance and mobs pulling on archer and about getting and managing aggro on melee. On trapper you just switch stances and spam encounters and that's pretty much all you need to care about.

You land cordon when purple portal is about to explode (if you are far from portal you can use target lock on your teammate who opens the portal to prevent missing).
I was told by another HR not to pre-cast Cordon on the portals as it actually spreads the mobs when they spawn and not draw them together.

never noticed something like that, lol. Can I get a vid of that?
I have noticed this as well. If you pre-fire Cordon from a distance before the portal opens, when it does open, quite a few of the demons instantly head to you. I think its that you are instantly grabbing the aggro. Since you haven't made it to the portal yet, you effectively scatter the mob.
I have failed to see any real changes in stats with slashers mark other than it hits for around 100k damage and is great for closing gaps.
Why should you have seen any changes to stats? Again: Slasher's mark doesn't buff your damage (it doesn't give you Combat Advantage, etc). It only allows you and your party to refill the stamina bar when attacking the target.
to clarify. slashers just does damage and increase stamina has no change with combat advantage in act that I see to either buff or damage. I have it @ rank 4 because its one of my favorite encounters in PVP
I love Slashers Mark... It allows me to travel a huge distance across the battlefield and sometimes out of big red blobs
Also I use Gladiator's Guile as one of my Mount Insignia Bonuses so SM helps keep that Stamina bar right up
