Why did you put a post on the artifact weapons giving double rp? are they supposed to? because right now they dont.. not at all, its the same as always.
I would be much happier if they did of course.
They are double RP once you get them to level 14, i.e. Blue/Rare. While they are green, they are only worth regular RP. A small but very significant detail that you have to remember
For me, the best 3 things thus far: 1. T Bar store rework 2. Gear preview feature (really wish this came w/ a reduction to xmute costs, though) 3. Salvatore quest-line
rest I'm kinda 'meh' about, or haven't experienced.
The flaming windmill was an impressive sight to behold. I am a sucker for dark games, either at night or in dark places. Helps create an immersive atmosphere. In fact, I prefer to play computer games only at night. Mantol-Derith is very visually pleasing, especially because it's dark.
Half-way through the new quests, I started to form a negative opinion because the quests seemed to lack depth, but the quest ending is superb and everything in the story comes together very neatly at the end. Overall, the new quests feel like an excellent foundry mission.
I especially liked the voice actor for Captain Belgold and Pwen's swaggy animation.
I voted for the quests but, honestly, so far, I have only done: heroic encounters, Prophecy of Madness, and the new quests. I always try to save the best for last. After all my characters finish all the new quests, and the Prophecy of Madness, then I will put them all through the second skirmish, and then through Demogorgon.
Do they really have to pronounce it "Eye-core" instead of "Ick-ar"?
No vote option for Dread Ring lag? I mean, before it was good and enjoyable , but with the new Module you really get the feeling for it. It brings the Dread in the Ring.
But to be on topic, the Gear Preview is the best for me. The "new" Salvatore quests are actualy just taken from one of his books since I read them, so not "new" to me.
To me the best would be the winter festival items in the Stronghold. The new items that was added is not bad but after all the hype about a storyline i realy looked forward to it and after 90 minutes(when i finished it) i was like, this is it?
The skirmishes are fun and i think wil be for a while so well done Demo is nice, i like that you need some strategy Realy appreciate the tarm bar
Other than that, as always, i will give it a few months before i make up my mind. I realy hope i feel better about it than i feel about it after 1 day.
There are more than BIS players in this game RIP Real Tiamat, RIP Real Demogorgon RIP real Temple of the spider. Why remove non bis content to give to bis players ???? FORCING the majority of your player base to play 4 mod old dungeons and trial will have a bad result on player base Changes are getting so bad i would rather prefer no new changes (RIP ICE FISHING in winter fest)

So it only applies to the new weapons? It might be a stupid question, but the patch notes don't exactly clarify and my current epic artifact weapons show no signs of double anything
Well, I for one and very pleased with the DIRECTION these changes are taking us. And that's what this mod is, a change of direction. The content is lacking of a full mod, but I'm certain that we'll see 2 or 3 more mods add to what is here already. And that will result in a spectacular Underdark that creates a second area of the game just like Forgotten Realms added a whole second phase to DDO.
What do I like about this mod? I love all the little reworked stuff the most. The quality of life stuff. Tarmalune Bar and gear preview. I really enjoyed the Salvatore quest. It was easy and felt a bit barren as I solo'd through it, but I love a story context around my hackin' and slashin'. THAT is what D&D is about. Proper story. Like a classic module! No module would be entirely comprised of heroic encounters and 'fetch 10' or 'kill 10' missions. They have a story that drives the action forward. It was short and simple, but it was well done. It introduced us to a larger world that's coming down the pipe and made me excited to see it.
And I like the new skirmishes. They're different from what we've seen before, they have built-in variety and they take a bit of strategy.
So judging on what we were given, it's positive and sets the foundation for much better and larger things to come.
But what I was expecting? I was actually expecting a full reworking of crafting and a wide open Underdark area like Icewind Dale. So I was surprised that after the intro quest all we had was 2 skirms and Demogorgon. I was also hoping we'd see a couple of the dungeons return. I still don't understand why Castle Never was taken out of the game and can't figure out the reason it's not back. The game feels vastly incomplete without these dungeons. Please work on bringing them back as soon as possible! I'm so sick of doing Kessel, ToS and ECC that I want to puke! I'd also like to see new ways of getting AD in the hands of solo players. Dropping from every single quest in the game, in varying amounts. Doing ToS 10 times a day with different characters is getting old. Really old.
IN CONCLUSION: Thank you very much for the reworking of so many key areas, I love the direction the Underdark mod (preview?) is pointing to and can't wait to see more!
You obviously did not read any of R.A. Salvatore's books since the Neverwinter Saga because if you did, you have have a new appreciation for the questline.
You're right, I haven't read his recent work, but it's not the character portrayals that I'm talking about or the backgrounds. The general story line for the quest was a disappointment. Disjointed, simple fragments of a story forcibly sewn together by a single quest giver. The rewards were good for the time spent, though.
I haven't had much time to check it all out yet, but my favourite thing so far is the small changes that were made to the Leadership profession. Its a lot more rewarding for higher levels now.
Looked into many things and i like a huge bunch of stuff and changes we got with this module. I think in a few days i will give my full feedback since i couldn't test everything so far.

The Karrundax(? fire dragon dungeon) had cool lighting effects/motion blur effects - this was a great example of how easy it is to recycle content, while enhancing it. (An easy skychange!)
Agreed. Having read so much about the Shadowfell in R.A. Salvatore's novels I was so excited to see it in-game when the neighbourhood notification popped up on my screen. The FX made me not care so much that the content was recycled.
I guessing neither one of you has ever levelled a warlock then? Because... that wasn't exactly new. Cough.
Too early to say, will get back to you. The R. A. Salvatore questline was enjoyable. The Prophecy of madness skirmish, not so much. Demonic HE's blaarg, Ive been doing them for a day and I'm already tired Get back to you when I've done the rest more than one time.

Yeh, lol, that Benny Hill theme song sums up the skirmishes and demogargon. Everyone running around in circles trying to clear Madness from themselves. Very disappointed.
The next module needs huge content in that underdark area along with some dungeons that our classes were actually designed to deal with. There is a reason we have Tank, DPS, Controller and Support classes. The old dungeons were made for that concept.
Many of us asked for no more HEs, but thats what we got. I consider theses new skirmishes and demogorgon to be basicically just glorified HEs. The worst part of it is, that they are really annoying to play. Ive done them once and really dont want to do it again.
What's your favorite thing about Underdark so far? You cannot beat the quests? Over powered quests? So far I am not liking it. Is it possible to dump the mod?
I may not be the best player in the world, but at least I learn my Toon, and how to play them. b:laugh
Actually sad to say, the only thing i like about this Mod is the Trade Bar rework.
I would have loved Underdark, but still can't find it. Recycled stuff with a tiny intro quest from the master, which is by no means enough to say, this Mod is good. Other than that we only have old maps with more HEs. Sorry if i have to keep my excitement where it is, in the cellar.
With so much grind alt play becomes even more unbearable, boredom kills every fun.
I have to come up with a RL example. We were asked by a fellow German machinery company, which repairs ocean liners to make some replacement parts for the engine room of one of their client's ships. We did it and were proud of our not everyday work. We bought a crate of good Hungarian wine and added it on top of it as a small present, just for the good relationship and for the marketing effect. Now after a few months we asked, how is the ship itself doing. Guess what, we would have fallen into our CNC machines, if the captain of that ship would have said, well ok, but the wine was the best.
You see dear Cryptic, a huge chance wasted again to make your players happy. Sorry to say, but after Mod3/4 it is one epic failure followed by another. After all this should be Dungeons&Dragons! Give us Dungeons, not endlessly repetitive and recycled Hes, let us play more toons, as we used to do before this boring grindfest. Please dedicate your time on fixing bugs, rather than making just fillers, which can hardly be called a Mod. I said it when Mod 6/7 came out, try to go with this to a local DnD club, ask to be a DM and try to see, if players enjoy it, no campaign, no story, just let them do repetitive HEs. Answer is not hard to guess...

Frankly I forgot which option I've took, oh the gear preview.
Yeah, this one is probably the best one so far. Still I didn't have time to check out the Demogorgon fight. Skirmishes are really really bad...merry go round dps fest - terrible.
T bar rework doesn't give me much honestly. Mr. Salvatore's quest was great but pretty short, I would love to see a whole campaign written this way - that would be really awesome.
A bit too soon to judge as we're barely few days since launch.
But one thing for sure, these demonic HE's are a real killer for me now - I simply can't look at them anymore

Imagine my shock and horror when I found that I have to run Slaad Invasion 100 times to get my new artifact weapon set. Wasted the first 2 days running around RR doing all the HE's I could, silly me! The dolt who came up with that idea needs to be tarred and feathered, then drawn and quartered. I was okay with the new Mod until I found out how much grind would be involved. I'm sick of it already and I only have 22 Earthen motes
