Im running a 17% chance now and can attest without a doubt they drop rate has drastically been reduced. I play 12 hr days quite often because i've recently become injured and disabled. The first couple hours seem fine but then its like falling off a cliff. By then end of the night I might see a drop every 200 enemys. While early in the day its everyother mob. Currently it feels like im running 7% equevancy from mod 5. This is horrible really. We cant mod like the PC so why are we getting screwed. Even the people who farmed the spellplauge dont deserve this. They were at least physically on the game so wtf.
this should be fixed ! The longer I'm online in the game the more I should get rewarded.
Umm yeah, no. There were 24/7 hour bot's doing this. Did you not see or hear the reasoning behind the nerfing? Any questions you may have should be found under the Developer Tab under forums dated around the release of EE.

How can this even be an issue though? Personally I have not noticed any dofference in the number of Stone drops I get. I get exactly the same amount as I got MOD5. BUT I have never attempted , or wanted to, farm stones as it is a complete and utter waste of time. So I play for maybe 2 hrs a day, and in that time I do not see any less drops than I ever have.
So if you are somehow seeing less drops, either its just bad luck, or maybe you need to stop playing for 15hrs a day and do something productive lol
a few things to think about here. the game has been flooded with a lot of new avenues to earn refining points. so you can run through campaign missions, even if you don't NEED to anymore, just to farm RP. also there are more unbound stones dropping community wide so you can purchase them in the AH. once you reach the "cap" for dragon hoard for the day, switch over to fey wild enchantments.
Dragon Hoards got nerfed in this mod. This is a known fact.
Yes, they did. Some. But, the main issue for most of the complaints (probably not the OP, but possibly thefiresidecat) is the player is only seeing the items they pick up. These items are not the drops from the DHE. They are regular mob drops.
Many players do not know that drops from the DHE go straight to inventory and think there is a reduction because they miss the on-screen pop-up. Heavy time players will notice the nerf, significantly, players with less time per day will not notice any change, or very little. Like msbegotngirl, I haven't really noticed the change, and I was looking for it.
no not true. I see them go into the inventory magically and they are the ones that are player bound. I also am a dps class. while I may not be the highest dps around I get great success about 50 % of the time in group encounters.
oddly enough, right after I wrote this post it started dropping normally again. I did upgrade some stuff and move the stones out of one armor into another.. I have two going.. I think maybe it was glitched in the lower armor or something.. dunno but it's working fine for me now

oh - a glitch would be bad
There are times where I get only 2 or 3 white pearls in 2 hours and I have 8 % chance ! After 2 hours I never get something again until the next day. Yesterday I sold one of my stones because they don't work
They should at least update the item description since it no longer reflects reality. X% drop should mean exactly that. If it's not, that's false advertisement. And in a game where you pay real money for items, they're leaving themselves open for a lawsuit.
With all due respect, the description on the enchant says there is only a % chance of a drop. Which is why I still say many of you are just unlucky. Link to enchant for reference: http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Dragon's_Hoard_Enchantment
Hello. I've been playing this game for a while now and this is my first time posting!
I have a question to @deathbringer. You stated you only play this game 2 hours per day - because you have a life (good one, btw;). But, from my experience and from what everyone else posted here, the enchantments stop working after a few hours...So, how are you reliably telling people their unlucky when you don't even play long enough to experience the issue? It sounds from your posts that you don't even fit the criteria to even see the drop off, and to be telling people their unlucky. And, with all do respect of course, there are people who actually want to find out what the deal is with DHE's, but no matter how many people post the same experience, you just keep posting that "it's just bad luck and only a chance to drop." I think we can all read the tooltip on the enchantment, so a wiki page that says the same thing, is just that - the same misinformation as the tooltip in-game. To come behind everyone that says they experience this, and let them know, again and again, that you have no problems with your drops and post a wiki link? What is your motivation behind this mission, just out of curiosity?
@Nullvaluepoint - I agree wholeheartedly. People are spending real money to buy an enchant that doesn't do what it says, or in this case, only for a limited time/limited amount of drops. That seems a little disrespectful to the players.
And lastly a question to @kreatyve, @ironzerg79, @ambisinisterr, @zebular, @strumslinger ..... You have read this thread. So, why can no one weigh in on this, not once, over so long a period of time, over multiple threads. If you don't know the answer, won't you please say that, or say you'll try to find out, OR tell these people, like myself, who spent their real money on an enchantment that misrepresents what it does, why you won't tell us. I would accept that. Just say why you won't acknowledge this issue, though you have clearly are aware of it. ???
Perhaps it's time to change the wiki page or actually let the people spending their money what's going on instead of taking the stance of - well I don't know what the stance is because no one will acknowledge it here. ???
Thanks, respectfully.

@leadpaingiver We know that the DHE has a 30 second cooldown. The idea that they "stop working" after a certain amount of time? I'm not sure if that was ever officially documented, or if it's just speculation. If someone would like to record 2+ hours of gameplay to definitively prove that they stop working, I'd love to see it.

It's not always possible to respond to every thread. Time is a limited commodity and one everybody besides Strumslinger donates free of charge. Just because people report threads does not mean we always take the time to do more than investigate the report. Often we do but not always.
That being said this was a hot topic months ago and all the information was announced plenty of times in threads and news articles then by developers, community team members and relayed by players alike. Frankly it was never something that effected me as I had not built up dragon hoards so over the last year the results are too foggy to be specific but I know players have been giving feedback for a year that it is not worth having dragon hoards anymore.
These threads are nothing new. People have been complaining about Dragon Hoard for about a year now due to the aforementioned change that went out on PC. There was a lot of push given by Akromatik, the CM at that time, regarding the reduction in effect but unfortunately there are some hard decisions the devs make regarding the balance of the game and player opinions won't always sway that. I mean players could demand cheat codes but that doesn't make it a good idea...in short we bring it up every once in a while but Dragon Hoards are likely to remain unchanged...
Understand people don't necessarily do research before they post. The AD changes are the obvious example that come to mind in which we have hundreds of posts combined saying that changes will continue to come yet people always claim that there's never been an official information relayed and people falsely believe there will be no additional changes to AD gains or sinks...within the same threads in which such statements were said. I'm not a robot. Everything I have said just now has already been said in even more detail months ago...
There's been no changes to Dragon Hoards since Module 6. Considering how PC players have felt they were worthless after that change I highly doubt they would even consider further changes unless it was to improve them. I'm sorry but I am not going to respond to every two page complaint about Dragon hoard enchantments from now until the end of time.
There's news articles and explanations if you look and plastering the forums with posts like these is just going to destroy moral. I'd much rather focus on fighting for changes which we can push through rather than continue a fight for something which the developers do not feel is a good idea. Sorry, I am nothing if not honest with people so this was harsh but this is the truth. There's plenty we can fight for and push to get changes on....dragon hoards is a dead horse. A dead horse we still beat from time to time but it is not something we will likely find a good compromise between the developers and community any time in the near future.
Perhaps it's time to change the wiki page or actually let the people spending their money what's going on instead of taking the stance of - well I don't know what the stance is because no one will acknowledge it here.

I already made my peace with this myth long ago on the PC when it was a topic before there and these enchants now work here exactly like they do there. I've never had DH Enchants stop dropping enchants on me after a couple hours of gameplay. Perhaps folks are having poor RNG streaks -- anyone slightly familiar with Computer RNG knows that RNG can be extremely streaky and can never truly be random.
Anyway, my personal opinion from my own play experience, since I am being called out to "weight in on this," is that this is either a myth or rumor that has ran wild, or that this 30-second cooldown and streaky RNG is being misunderstood by the folks claiming to experience such a 2 hour cut off point. I have gone anywhere from a few minutes to, in extremely rare instances, around a half-hour in-between drops before but I have never had them stop dropping enchants on me all-together after 2 hours of gameplay.
In any case, whatever stipulations there are for the maximum daily cut off, it is not for us to know. For if it were known, that would defeat the purpose and allow botters to work around it. I just personally know from my own play experience that the stipulations are not just "2 hours," for just the other day, I played my main character for just over 4 hours straight doing dailies and skirmishes, and got enchant drops the entire time from my DH enchants. The bottom line is that, paraphrasing what Panderus himself said, if you're reaching the limit then you are exceeding intentions for the enchantment. Period.

From the Wiki Page: There is a mechanic in place that limits the number and frequency of drops per day. Stacking multiple will not increase this limit, but rather cause you to hit it much faster.
I still have to find the news article but the wiki already said that. *shrugs*
Found a post by Pandurus, page 3 of this thread based on the default payout.
There is a mechanic on these items to limit how often and how much they can drop each day. A normal game session for a day should not be impacted.
We have seen players use them heavily to just farm all day with bots and this was one of the valves we closed to that behavior.
This change went live with Module 6 on PC and is now Live on Xbox following the inclusion of Elemental Evil. Just in trying to find that information alone though I saw plenty of threads and posts with other players informing people this would occur Once Elemental Evil was release to Xbox.
Well thank you all for your replies, honestly and sincerely. Albeit a little conflicted among you. I just believe honesty and forthrightness is the best policy (especially when people's money is involved) and I can certainly accept the answer that you don't know exactly how it works and disclosing the formula is not an option as it would let botters no how to circumvent it - makes perfect sense.
And while that makes perfect sense (here is only my own opinion), a normal game session is affected and it could be tweaked some. Personally, I have two characters I play OP & GWF. I go and do 10 quests in sharandar, 8 in Icewind Dale, and 4 in Dread ring on both characters when I have the time. Going with the GWF is much faster and I could probably do all those quests in about an hour and a half to two hours. About two thirds the way through that run, every day I go for them all, the DHE's shut off - maybe at the 1 hour, 15 min mark. Same with the other character. I run 10% on GWF and 8% on OP... There's lots of stuff I like to do in addition, to just dailies. So I don't think that I am going into overdrive mode collecting refinements and reaching the limit, just by doing my dailies. I know it's not you all's decision, so I have no malice towards you all, and maybe it was meant to not affect a normal day's play, but it falls short of that mark.
I will concede there's always a way for someone to abuse it an item like that, I could think of a few myself. If more programming can't be done to stop non-stop spawns, it would be nice to update the tooltip.
In any event, hopefully people are informed now, whether morale was lowered or not, the bitterest truth is better than the sweetest lie. The, "it's just bad luck" stories are no good for anyone.
@ironzerg79 if you all would have came on here and refuted the fact, I would have posted a 2 hour video for you no problem;) Thanks for the replies.

I think it would be hard to judge the time limit on it, even with a 2 hour video. Because 1) Unless you're going to be in combat that entire amount of time - you obviously have no chance of getting a drop if you are not in combat.
Personally, I can log on and some days it seems like I don't get any drops, some days I seem to get a lot. I don't pay that much attention to it. Personally, leadership is still a better source of RP than the Dragon Hoard Enchants.
My opinions are my own. I do not work for PWE or Cryptic. - Forum Rules - Protector's Enclave Discord - I play on Xbox Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official. Any messages written in orange are official moderation messages. Signature images are now fixed!
I was going to post maybe an hour long video after DHE's had reached the cap and stopped working. Maybe with a brief introduction when it is working, of 5 minutes or so - getting ~10 drops. After that... 55 minutes where I kill over 1000 enemies and not get one drop, making the odds of that into the billions, trillion, zillions. And, accompany that video with the math.
Then I would wait for a certain someone to say that, that one in a trillion trillion trillion chance of that happening was just bad luck, and then I would make another one the next day showing the exact same thing, but a different video. And then maybe one more time after that, after that person said it again...
I unfortunately do pay attention to refinement, just because it is so hard to get one piece of artifact equipment to legendary, and I refine all my greens into them and all my DHE's and I'm not even close to getting one piece of artifact equipment to legendary. What's it take, something like 40,000 green level 70 armor/weapons refined into an artifact equipment to get it to legendary? I know that isn't an exact number, but it's not far off, that's just one piece. Cant imagine where'd I'd be without running DHE's on two characters, daily, and not waiting for 2x RP.
I did not know leadership was a better alternative to DHE's. I'll give that a shot. Thank you for the tip.

ok to sum up what I understand and a question - english is not my first language:
There is no "stopped working" on the stones, right? They should work all day until you reached the drop limit per day, right?
last Questions on the Topic:
The cooldown is 30 seconds. 30 seconds for all stones or does it stack 4 stones = 2 minutes cooldown? Does it only cooldown if something is dropped? Or always if it try to give a chance to drop? So do I have only all 30 seconds or 2 minutes (if it stacks) a % chance to drop something even if it does not drop something before?
Are there maps who drop not as good as others? Because on the ring campaign I almost never drop something.
Is there a possible Bug? Can it be checked?
If my stones are on cooldown and I switch the map and go to another area (loading screen) is it possible that my cooldown is not resetted and my stones are on cooldown forever? Can I be sure that on map change the cooldown is ALWAYS resetted so it can start new?
Sometimes it seems I have a perma cooldown and my stones don't work. What I saw is: If I end the game on Protectors and load it the next day it start dropping like it should - but if I start on other maps it sometimes doesn't drop like it don't work (2-3 white pearls 8 % chance in more than 3 hours gameplay and with killing lots of enemies) - so at the moment before I sign out I always go back to Protectors so that I can have a chance the next day also.
Sorry if it has been discussed on PC - I'm not a PC player and I like the game very much - I buy VIP and ZEN to progress and it would be nice if it could be checked if there is a Problem with the cooldown of the DH if I change the map.
If this Bug is here - it should be fixed as soon as possible and should be a hot fix:)
@leadpaingiver#7597 I understand your points entirely. I can see where you are coming from. However you must understand that even though there are a few people on here that seem to have problems with drops, no one I know has these problems. My guild of over 500+ people, technically smaller because we had to cut back and form sister guild, none of them have ever had these problems. Some of them who have admitted they don't have lives and play the game from when they wake up to when they go to sleep. Now if someone who plays the game for 12+hrs a day does not see a decrease in drops...what am I supposed to think? I think either they are really lucky, or the people on here are just really unlucky. So for everyone that posts they see a decrease, that imo means they are unlucky. Hopefully you can see where I am coming from here. And if someone on here seriously plays more than 12+hrs a day like a few of my guildmates, and see a decrease in drops, then once again you are indeed just unlucky.
1st off, that's really interesting info about your 500 man guild breaking off and forming a sister guild.
2ndly, I practically dared all the moderators to respond to this thread. They all did, confirmed there is a system in place to limit drops, if that doesn't work for you, I don't know what else to say. I feel like there is enough information here to put this to rest. I'm done, so is paingiver.
my experience has been streaky. I go hours without drops at all. sometimes days. other times it drops fairly regularly. certain zones seem to be more regular than other zones. well of dragons... almost never a drop. sharandar.. good drops. sometimes it seems like some armor makes it absolutely zero drops.. I also have the enchantment that drops pouches and the enchantment that drops various sized bags.. both of those are way more reliable. really the dragons hoard enchantment is pretty worthless
All I'd ask is for some indication of how close to 'expended' they are. A simple indicator showing how much 'power' is left in them for the day would be very helpful.

Doesn't the enchament itself say the amounts of drops per day is limited? Also if they let people run wild and farm all day then they'd max out their characters faster thus become bored of the game and stop playing. The more time needed to grind the longer they'll keep everyone on the hook and make it all seem seemlingly fun.
Yes the hoards were nerf'ed so just think of your Dragon Hoards as timers each day as you play, no matter what you'll still get drops from it throughout the day just the drop rate is decreased throughout that day meaning near the start of your gaming day is going to be when you get the most out of them depending of your kill rate and how many are dropping for you and will decrease and reset the next day. So lets say your like me when it comes to this game you'll play between 7-12 hours a day. You'll notice most drops will be in your first few PvP and PvE matches and lets say you've continued through your day playing the game as you play and your not getting any drops it doesn't mean they've stop working it's just the drop rate is so low after you've been killing and gaining the drops that you'll still earn them it just you'll need to put in a lot more effort and the proof I have toward this is that when I was playing the game doing Elol farming with my guild and guild friends it was about 5am and we started playing at around 6pm near the start of the farm I would get constant drops throughout the runs till about 8pm and still but rarely gained a few drops between 8pm and 5am, meaning they still work. Its not broken nor needs to be fixed this is just a way to slow down our process in getting refinement making it where it takes longer to upgrade gear and making you play the game more, and putting in more effort. Does this wrap this conversation up? If not well then, what else do you need? As for your Ad problem farm Salvage I recommend Elol, Valindra's Tower, shores, and Kessel's and save it for 2x AD. Ive spent 0 dollars on this game there are ways to earn AD you just have to put in the effort. If you really need refine that bad then farm in Rec Rock at the encounter points or use the Bank exploit in Elol and Shores.
At this point I've also concluded that there is a severe throttling on DH enchants. I've noticed that most clearly when participating in Fighting on Ice with trolls during the Winter Festival events. There, while killing hundreds of enemies very quickly, I would be getting drops every 30-60 seconds for the first two 10 minute events but when I got to fight for the third time or more there would be literally no drops at all. That pattern was repeating every day.
I'm not yet sure what is the mechanic here - is it the total value of drops, number of items dropped, total number of enemies killed, total amount of time being in combat on that day or something else - but it's on my list to figure out.
I've also replaced half of my DH with Fey Blessing. These seem to come with their own quirks though as they dropped enchant rank (3-5) seems to be depending on the zone where you are fighting.
Clearly if you use the Dragon's Hoard enchantment then you're aware of this phenomenon with the drop ratio working as you'd project it would at first, but then severely diving in effectiveness after that. Actually the above case of Monsters on Ice is a perfect example of it in action and yes, I found the exact same thing happened to me.
I use only one enchantment, it's a 2% drop chance, I should expect to get about 2 refining things for every 100 or so enemies killed -- and that's exactly how it works until I've dispatched around 500. After that it drops off to more like a .2% chance. It doesn't anger me, it just is what it is.
I use to use about a 15% chance, 5 3% Dragonhoard stones, and I would get tons of RP dropping without even noticing. I never actually grinded for them, but I had not seen any odd drop in them dropping. At this point I have sold all of mine, and use Leadership for any RP I may need, I like the boosts in movement/xp a bit more.
However in my opinion, I think the only people who may be a bit salty towards this supposed "nerf" of Dragon Hoards are those people who were almost "cheating" in a way and camping in Spellplague Caverns. Now that they can not do that anymore, then of course they will see a "nerf" in the drop times. Once again, not wanting to upset, just stating my opinion.
You get 5 slots in total, so I have 2 Dragon's Hoard, a Fey, a Tymora and a Salvagers Enchant... I get lots of drops
Main - Rydia (HR70) - Xbox One Player only Alts : Storm (SW70), Edge (TR70), AD Farm (CW70), Grunt (GF70), Rosa (DC70), AD AD AD (GWF70), Your Mum (OP70)

This is horrible really. We cant mod like the PC so why are we getting screwed. Even the people who farmed the spellplauge dont deserve this. They were at least physically on the game so wtf.

If you want to update the wiki go for it. It's a wiki...an officially condoned wiki...but still a wiki.
wiki - noun - a website that allows collaborative editing of its content and structure by its users.
Most of the information on the wiki is made possible by users like you.
Period.

There is a mechanic in place that limits the number and frequency of drops per day. Stacking multiple will not increase this limit, but rather cause you to hit it much faster.
I still have to find the news article but the wiki already said that. *shrugs*
Found a post by Pandurus, page 3 of this thread based on the default payout. This change went live with Module 6 on PC and is now Live on Xbox following the inclusion of Elemental Evil. Just in trying to find that information alone though I saw plenty of threads and posts with other players informing people this would occur Once Elemental Evil was release to Xbox.
@ironzerg79 if you all would have came on here and refuted the fact, I would have posted a 2 hour video for you no problem;)
Thanks for the replies.
Personally, I can log on and some days it seems like I don't get any drops, some days I seem to get a lot. I don't pay that much attention to it. Personally, leadership is still a better source of RP than the Dragon Hoard Enchants.
Any of my comments not posted in orange are based on my own personal opinion and not official.

2ndly, I practically dared all the moderators to respond to this thread. They all did, confirmed there is a system in place to limit drops, if that doesn't work for you, I don't know what else to say. I feel like there is enough information here to put this to rest. I'm done, so is paingiver.

I use only one enchantment, it's a 2% drop chance, I should expect to get about 2 refining things for every 100 or so enemies killed -- and that's exactly how it works until I've dispatched around 500. After that it drops off to more like a .2% chance. It doesn't anger me, it just is what it is.
