Not that i had a positive stance on NW before, but this will definitely drive my interest to a halt.
Leadership is my main income when it comes to AD. Why? Because dungeons are a framerate drop/lag- and boot&loot-fest galore, so i kinda gave up on dungeons and skirmishes on an early stage. And please, don't tell me that i should join a guild. It's not me that needs to change just because people are greedy jerks and because the devs aren't able to fix the problems. And it's also obvious that the devs don't understand the difference between the PC version and the XBOX version. They can't be treated like an equal entity when they aren't. The XBOX version is a clearly inferior more broken and flawed version! Rules and changes must therefore be different. As long as this game is running as terribly bad as it does on the XBOX - with 5 fps during most crowded events - then this game is a joke, questionable if it deserves to even exist on the XBOX, and should adapt to that fact.

When is the AD cost of upgrading companions going to be adjusted down to reflect the new economy changes?

500k to go from green to blue.. ridiculous. (should be 125k)
750k to go from blue to purple.. ouch (should be 200K)
1 mil to go from purple to orange.. LOL (should be 300K)

Or give us some way to earn companion upgrade tokens.

I for one didn't fall victim to Leadership or GMoPot changes but can feel for all the loyal players that got chaffed. Having over a mil RAD from dungeon salvage and slowly keep refining it I can eventually afford something to further my progression. This news has been on all the PC forums for a while discussing the changes they have endured. There were warnings there to be read, just needed to look for it. I have to agree the timing was terrible directly after a 2x RP. At least with honest retail stores you can be refunded your money if an item goes on sale or is price reduced in a certain time frame of purchase. I don't see this model being implemented here and I understand people giving up with frustration. Also how will the economy fair with a fallout of people leaving the game? I for one am going nowhere because I have nothing invested but time and that certainly cannot be said for many players with a dozen toons. Also saying getting rewarded with time playing the content seems true now but to level leadership is mind numbing boring and very time consuming. What about the time wasted for everyone who invested real money? I agree it was broken and up to you to fix, but it feels more like a playground bully taking everyone's toys away while being shoved in the mud. I am glad I read the warnings and stopped at level 12 leadership. Well now I can afford to upgrade to legendary equipment much cheaper now hooray for change?

Skirmishes have had virtually no lag for me recently. So run ESoT and sell the stuff you get. And run it 3x times for the Rhix quest. Much quicker way for AD.

^^^. Except this is the equivelent of purchasing a computer, to get home and find out that the manufacturer magic'd it into a typewriter

You really have to feel for the people who spent real $s on zen for GMOPs up to last night (maybe some after that) who wanted to finish upgrades from 2x RP. Considering they will now be anle to make ~3x that progress with this same $s/zen

Other who invested in leadership are also getting screwed. What they invested in and had is NOT the same product they have now.

Some of these behaviors are borderline (probably even crossed into) unethical business practices

Think about it...what is to stop a business doing this type of stuff from constantly putting content out, only to change the product the second the community invests in it, to maintain advantage and entice the consumer to pay more. The US BBB would be very receptive to these complaints; this is also how class action lawsuits get started

I like the game, but the company really needs to start thinking about the consumer as more than a cash cow...

PS - can we plz stop discussing bots when it comes to the xb1 platform. It is NOT a rampant problem like the PC. And XB1 players should NOT be penalized on a routine basis just because of the sins of our PC counterparts. That is the stupidest justification I have ever heard. Not all things are equal....maybe the XB1 platform should be its own instance with its own development crew (??)

Every single item in the Wondrous Bazaar should have the price lowered accordingly, no reason to have those ridiculous costs for mount training and those stupid cubes...
  • As the title suggests, & I'm pretty sure most ppl used Leadership to make AD, how r ppl to make a worthy amount of AD now? Any suggestions?

It sounds like either...hope for good drops, something good from a lockbox, sell stuff from other professions, or buy zen & convert to AD (pretty sure most ppl won't b doing that now, especially with this change)
  • stercesderisedstercesderised Member Posts: 334 Arc User
Run dungeons, and melt the items down on alts until they nerf that too. If you're lucky enough to get a BoE item, sell it. Can also try selling prof stuff (ingredients and/or final products).

Personally I think this is a very good change. You now earn AD by playing the game instead of just logging in to dozens of accounts, clicking a few buttons and then logging off again. Anyone with even the slightest capability of being objective should be able to see this.

I doubt the loss of Leadership armies would have any actual affect on the numbers of people playing Neverwinter, or on the people who pour cash into the game. It's no surprise that they would prioritise active players and money-spenders over the others.

Strum said in a twitch last night that the cost of upgrading mounts (I'm not sure if he said companions, but it would make sense as an extension of it) is being discussed internally, so here's hoping.

They want you to run dungeons. So just run them and save your necklaces and belts and salvage them. there are ways, you just gotta poke around.

I suspect 'discussed internally' refers to where he was told he could shove that idea... Zen mounts = muchos, muchos $$$$... Reduced upgrade costs = not muchos, muchos $$$$ and Perfect World sad long time.

Companion upgrades and all other Wondrous Bazaar items on the other hand, agreed, no reason why these shouldn't be MUCH cheaper... Unless of course the Wondrous Bazaar is actually some kind of means of removing as much refined astral as possible from the economy?... Oh :|

Sure. But with the reduced ways of earning AD, drops in dungeons will be much more valuable to people = a much stronger incentive to boot & loot.

It's almost laughable that it even needs to be discussed...these have been overpriced since day 1, but then so is everything in this game that's not naturally influenced by the gaming economy.

WTF as you can see from my post that was closed that they said it WASNT coming to the xbox, sorry but you are killing this game. If things dont change I am sure me and many others wont be here by xmas.

With all the changes that have taken place (for the worst imo) I'm only here until Battlefront drops, once that is out I'll be leaving this game on the ash pile with the rest. The company is just flogging a dead horse now and trying to make ppl spend real money on it hence the whole cut us off at the nuts BS they are doing so we can't make AD anymore, RiP NeverWinter, the ride is over....

Well, in all fairness, mount training isn't really important, even if some people I know would like their Barbie-horsie to be @ 140% :D
But companion upgrade costs are beyond ridiculous in comparison, and the Cube of Augmentation is just sadness :(
  • patsfirepatsfire Member Posts: 833 Arc User
As I have said in a similar thread. Running Skirmishes is the way to go. Running ESoT you can net about 50k-80k and hour. I think that is a bit more than leadership can provide.
  • cactusjacktercactusjackter Member Posts: 287 Arc User
The annoying thing about the cube is you have to buy four of them. There should just be a Cube and a Major Cube for the convenience.

Never used leadership for ad. 4 people upset about it. You should start a petition

For Xbox, at this time, removing AD generation from leadership and not rebalancing the costs of items, companion advancement, etc. will bring a sense of advancement in the game to a halt. Not enough people on Xbox are capable of running even T1 dungeons successfully right now in PUGs. If people can't generally beat the 70 level bosses, how will they get the diamonds to upgrade their characters? Oh, real money. Got it.

This game should strive to give players a feeling of gradual accomplishment and success. Instead these changes feel like a means to simply generate more real life cash for the company. I can understand the need to make money, to a degree, but the cash grab can go to far and have the opposite effect. Players who spend money and actually grind it out, like me, worry that fewer people will spend money because they will not be able to advance and earn simply by playing the game. As it is right now, I am the only person in my guild left playing the game, which sucks. These changes will do nothing to encourage my friends to come back.

Happy players are likely to spend and encourage their friends to spend, too. I know, because I have spent in the past when I have been happy with the game. It's easy to hit the button to buy zen when things are good and you are hopeful for the future. Right now I don't want to spend because of doubt and uncertainty. The game will feel unbalanced.

Btw, I Just logged in, and it was nice to see that they really thought this change through, and reworked the Leadership profession to still give rewards that are equal to the amount of time and resources spent...

Oh wait, they just took RAD out and didn't even bother changing anything, classy move, and way to go...

I know this will be unpopular, but I am with the changes. A stance has been made against those that have multiple accounts whos primary function is to "print AD" and flood the market. Think about it...30 toons raking in 24,000 a day is just a shy over $700K daily for doing NOTHING. God knows how much RAD each has. Those are the ones they are going after. Just like in the real economy, you can not simply create money, it has to be earned. It HAD to be stabilized...the AD was crippling!

I think I speak for those who PLAY the game and not exploit the markets.

Just to be clear...I am speaking to the WHALES and not to the general gaming community. The printing press has been shut down...and hopefully with all those 3rd party sites spamming PE every second I am there!
  • xrawcarnagexrawcarnage Member Posts: 384 Arc User
Nope I didnt use leadership either. On occasion I would do the 1600 ad tasks but that is it. I came into mod 6 with over 8 million ad and that was all from my ways. No safewow or spam ad buy sites. Their is plenty of ways. I will only disclose a couple cause I still need to make profit here lol

As others say, run dungeons, lots of dungeons. Spread out drops between alts and salvage. 2nd is ah. Sell anything you won't use. Period. 3rd do the ad to zen exchange. When the exchange rate is higher, it is very easy to make ad thus way. And the main one is professions. Put some time, research, and a little general knowledge into it and you'll see what can make you big profits. Eg: mod 6 drops and so does the highly anticipated paladin class. What will this clasd need? Shirts and trousers are very sought after items for all classes. So get the correct profession up to 25 as soon as possible then start making them. Takes 100k ad to make trousers or shirts but sold for over 400k. Get my point?

I am with you on this. I love reading all the complaining and whining. No body forced anyone to spend money on this game. Its a free to play game. They are changing it for the better and to get rid of the whales and 3rd party people with 50 characters with leadership armies and probably have 50 accounts. This game is supposed to be played, not log into your characters and do leadership and log out. and brag how rich you are. SO WHAT. Play the game, this will weed out the people who know how to play the game and the ones that dont. It will stabilize the economy and make things better for everyone like it should. so stop demanding refunds and crying how the game is ruined when its not. This game is better now with the new changes, and it will continue to get better with future changes.

Thank you for making Neverwinter better.

As much as the change will help the economy, it won't fix the fact that people have left, or will be leaving, by the 100''s or 1000's because of everything that has happened since MOD 6. I have said it, and will say again, this game will not make it on Xbox. It is dying, and will soon be DEAD. The only people who will be playing at the end of the year are those PC players who can't seem to admit the game is broken and dead, also those who bought everything they have on. Those are the ones who will not want to admit the game is dead because they spent $1000's of real life money on it lol.
