as soon i zone into Caer-Konig, i get instant quest, and i dont want it, and it is annoying to get, i dont remember if this was deleteable or not deletable.
Agreed, now if they actually made those potions useful... oh wait, that's not going to happen.

I sell the salves on the AH when they pile up sufficiently.
The coalesced potions I vendor immediately on finishing the quest. Conveniently, I am already speaking to a merchant, so I use his store before exiting the dialogue.
At least it's got a clear goal to achieve, unlike the L1 'Mission' you get for entering Dread Ring with absolutely no indication of what it is or what it does or what clears it. (Forging a gauntlet for the day.)
It's still annoying.
Largely inactive, playing Skyforge as Nai Calus.

This is almost assuredly bugged. It *for sure* crops up if Return on Investment is currently active, but there are some other isolated circumstances where it happens without Return on Investment being a factor, and I don't have that part nailed down.
But without Return on Investment, you're very unlikely to see Mission.
thanks, i wasnt aware of having red X, but it still on quest journal.
The X hides it from the quest tracker. There is no limit to the number of quests you can have in your journal so there really is little reason to *need* to abandon it. Worst case scenario is that the sparkly trail defaults to that, which is such a simple fix anyway, just set the quest you want to track as the active quest. Other than that, I don't see why this would be any cause for annoyance. Just X-mark it out in your journal.

i am pretty sure there IS/WAS a limit on how many quests you could have. and just cause you dont see why some people find this quest's inability to be abandoned annoying doesnt mean it is not annoying to some.

Convert rusted key into chest key if you didn't already, run Kessell, collect bonus chest regardless of what the loot is, never look back. No?

I should do more gold trading.

Well-played. Trying really hard not to laugh like a lunatic in a campus computer lab.
(1) Press [J]
(2) Window opens: "Quest Journal"
(3) Scroll Down. Until you find quest called "Return on Investment"
(4) Little box at end of line.
(5) Put mouse cursor over little box.
(6) Click little box until little box has little red "X" in it.
(7) Bingo!
And now the ____ stop QQing...
